Inari, Konkon, Koi Iroha.
add

Both series are about an Inari shrine girl who has the rare ability to see celestial beings (fox spirits, mainly) and befriends and/or helps them. They are both really pleasant and relaxing to watch and focus on the daily lives of the characters. Both series have a similar atmosphere to them and the main female lead is quite similar as well. If you enjoyed one of them you're sure to appreciate the other show too!

InuYasha
add

Both are long series that feature a lot of fighting scenes where each character has their own special attacks. Also both main characters keep improving their weapons/powers with new more and more powerful attack moves. Both also involve the main character facing off against more or less supernatural beings, although in InuYasha it's often youkai (demons) and in Bleach humans with inhuman powers. Also it seems like no matter how brutally you beat up our male leads Ichigo (Bleach) and Inuyasha (InuYasha) neither seems willing to die anytime soon.

Brave 10
add

Both InuYasha and Brave 10 feature action scenes with different weapons. Both also start off with the main male character having to protect the (seemingly useless/annoying) female lead for one reason or another. Both feature supernatural elements and both series have the main duo gathering new allies along the way with different powers and specialities.

Brave 10

Both feature a group of more or less badass characters fighting their way through as well as great action scenes. Also both series have a bit of historical background to them and Sanada Yukimura appears in both. Some supernatural elements can be found in both Brave 10 and Samurai Deeper Kyo.

InuYasha
add

Both have a lot of sword fighting going on and cool special moves that the characters learn/use throughout the series. Both InuYasha and Samurai Deeper Kyo mix action and humor very well to balance it out and both feature great supporting characters as well. Also both main characters have a good and "evil"/uncontrollable side, although in Samurai Deeper Kyo this is done for really quickly when Kyo takes control over Kyoshiro's body in the beginning. But in both cases the main female lead slowly affects the main character's more stubborn/dark/loner personality. Also the romance between the main male and female character grows very slowly in both series.

Dogs: Bullets & Carnage

The story in Sengoku Basara and DOGS is very different from each other but both feature cool action scenes and pull you in! Also Badou in DOGS instantly reminded me of Date Masamune in Sengoku Basara somehow - I guess the main reason is the eyepatch. But both also have this kind of awesome charismatic, confident personality when fighting and talk in a very funny/entertaining way, mixing in some English here and there.

Both are historically based manga with well-drawn fighting scenes that take place in feudal Japan. They are set in approximately the same time period and both are enjoyable to read, although Vagabond is the better one in my opinion.

Peace Maker Kurogane
add

Both are historical anime based around approximately the same time period of Japan's history. Both series feature samurai and shinsengumi; in PeaceMaker Tetsunosuke (main character) wants to join the shinsengumi but in Rurouni Kenshin shinsengumi are one of Kenshin's (main character) enemies of the past. Both series start out pretty light-hearted but get serious and quite dramatic later on. Also both have great funny moments! Also, both main characters have red hair.

Senran Kagura
add

Both are ecchi series with quite a bunch of action thrown in. High School DxD has an angel VS demon theme going on when Senran Kagura has a good ninja VS bad ninja theme. Both have some characters dying and getting brought back to life to the opposite side they originally were fighting for. In both series the characters create some sort of alternate fighting dimensions for their battles. In both High School DxD and Senran Kagura the main character starts out pretty weak, clumsy and/or lacking in handling their powers but goes through training by their friends/masters and shines at the final fight.

These two series aren't very similar at all except that both have quite a lot of fighting scenes. Sengoku Basara has a samurai theme with historical names while Senran Kagura has a high school ninja theme with a bunch of ecchi added in. The reason why Senran Kagura reminded me of Sengoku Basara is because Homura is like a female Date Masamune, wielding 6 swords the same way and her personality is a bit similar too. xD

Both are reverse harem with a really pretty art style. Hakuouki is about a historical group of samurai while Uta no Prince-sama is about coming idols in a high-end music school, so they are different in setup but both are really enjoyable in their own ways!

Bakumatsu Kikansetsu Irohanihoheto
add

Both series are set in the same era in Japan's history with some overlapping characters like Toshizo Hijikata, Ryouma Sakamoto, Souji Okita, Kondou Isami and Tetsunosuke Ichimura. Both also have some characters who seek revenge on the one who killed their parents.. in a burning house. While both are based on history they have fictional characters added in and Bakumatsu Kikansetsu Irohanihoheto also has supernatural touches to it that are nicely woven into the story. While Bakumatsu Kikansetsu Irohanihoheto takes itself more seriously PeaceMaker Kurogane is slightly more light-hearted and comical. These series are both enjoyable, especially if you like historical (samurai) anime!

Both are set in the same period of Japan's history and have some overlapping characters - Okita and Hijikata mainly but Kondou is mentioned briefly too. Both also have a heavily history-based storytelling with hints of supernatural elements to spice it up a notch.. without overdoing it. If you loved one of these you will probably love the other too!
