If I had to sum up the show in a few words: "A comedy based on a group of 5 girls taking turns with the old boke-tsukkomi routine."
The show is about 5 girls who are studying the art of Japanese stage storytelling dubbed: "rakugo" hence the title of the show "Joshi (meaning woman/girl) raku".
When it comes to the story and art one character's line, Kukuru's: "Stop that! The animators are doing their best even though there's little to animate," pretty much sums it up. As well as a literal frame in the first episode: "This anime is full of 'ordinary' dialogue so views can
...
fully enjoy how cute the girls are."
I quoted because ordinary, as much of what they discuss is chock-full of anime , pop-culture, and nonsensical humor and gags, which is the show's selling point. I often found myself smile and laugh unconsciously.
That being said, it can be difficult to understand the comedy sometimes as some rely on timing of the joke or make reference to an obscure topic. I can't say that I didn't have to pause a few times throughout the show and look up meaning of punchlines or nuances in wordplay, but it didn't distract me from enjoying the show's humorous banter.
Many of the tracks in the OST use Japanese instruments which compliments the traditional atmosphere a rakugo has.
Overall, I had a blast watching the show. I believe if you have some knowledge of Japanese pop-culture, a bit of knowledge in the Japanese language itself, a somewhat subtle sense of humor its not difficult to find this show an interesting watch

Kiss x Sis is the TV series to the OVA and manga adaptation. It is about a boy, Suminoe Keita, and his everyday encounters (often perverted) with his older twin sisters, Ako and Riko.
The plot of the series is light, you can almost think of it as slice of life if you take out all the erotic antics from the equation. But then it wouldn't be AS good as it is now would it?
Many of the scenes aren't much better or much worse than what you would see in a regular show this season. Although the details of "certain" scenes clearly had much more dedication
...
for you know.....Obvious reasons.
The soundtrack also seems to be similar to the art as it won't stray too away from the industry standard. You have your mix of erotic music, cliched moment insert songs, and the OP and ED (which were decent).
As for the charactere s of the show, I think they were nicely done. I think its safe to say that Keita seems like a reasonable representation of most average guys. Now on to the bread and butter of the show, Ako and Riko. While the twins aren't the most stellar or beautiful characters out there, their love and borderline actions to get to Keita that draws you in, thinking "Oh god go for it" or "DO IT, DO IT". I do think the twins' were a bit over the top, trying to get off and get into Keita's pants all the time. But its definitely their appeal that has you coming back for more.
It would be a giant lie if I said that I don't enjoy the show. Each episode has a different means of seduction or...enjoyment. And I truthfully admit smiling like a complete idiot at the end of each. Bluntly speaking, it is borderline hentai/porn. The show knows how to take foreplay (for you kiddies reading this wait a few years before find out :P) and make it so much more appealing. So far each episode is a c**ktease and you know kinda left me "unsatisfied."
I originally read and watched the manga and OVA, so the TV animation certainly met my expectations. Although I am a little disappointed that more couldn't be done to improve the quality of the show in terms of animation and music. I think for many of the viewers, its a hit or miss show. If you don't like perverted stuff, it really may not be for you. But if you don't mind feeling a little horny after watching an episode, I definitely recommend this.

Bottom Line: Heartwarming series, incredible remake, and an awesome classic. Its must watch!
Kanon (2006) is simply a masterpiece. I can confidently say it is my favorite series of all time. Produced by the infamous Kyoto Animation which also introduced international hits such as The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and Full Metal Panic series, you wouldn't expect this series less than awesome. Kanon (2006) certainly lives up to that expectation.
Story: The episodes of the anime are basically separated into "arcs" for each girl. Each girl has her own background story associated with Yuichi either 7 years ago or early on in [the episodes] the current timeframe
...
of the series. Each girl struggles through her her story whatever it may be with Yuichi and grows closer to him, and ultimately a miracle takes place.
Outstanding plot and synopsis. The flow from arc to arc was a bit rigid, but still excellent nonetheless. Kyoto Animation did a incredible done job on using the several scenarios and each girl's path and combining them together into a single story that can move an audience into tears. Kanon touches on several themes such as Memories, Miracles, the Supernatural, and of course Love. The series does have great light-hearted and comical moments as well often bringing a smile or a chuckle to your face as well.
The moving plot earns a 10/10 from me.
Art: Excellent work by KyoAni (abv. for Kyoto Animation for the rest of this review). The design was simply beautiful and a great leap up from its first version (Kanon 2002). The backgrounds were incredibly detailed and well-drawn. The character designs were well-done as well, though Yuichi stuck out a bit too much compared to the rest of the large-eyed cast. But its not a very significant factor.
The overall presentation quality is top-notch and it gets a 10/10.
Sound: The Soundtrack contains a mix of classical instrumental music (such as Canon, hence the series name: "Kanon"), composed music from the original game, a few techno songs (Such as the Last Regrets Remix Insert Song and the ED song). The only complaint I had was that the OP song was a bit tiring after a while and seemed much too long.
Although the OP got on my nerves for a little, it gets a strong score of 9/10.
Character: The cast is truly unique. Probably one of the strongest points of Kanon is its lovable cast. Each is character is filled with emotions like real people. Over the course of the show you begin to develop sympathy for the majority of the cast, if not all of the cast. The only problem I having is choosing my favorite girl from the main cast.
This awesome array of incredible characters earns a 10/10.
Enjoyment and Overall: Really I enjoyed this series from start to finish. The story, the characters, and the flow was moving. I've rewatched the series several times and I still love it as much as the first time. It is an outstanding series, and I recommend it to anyone, even if you are not fond of drama/romance. This is definitely a series you should check out.
As I said at the beginning, it is my favorite series of all time and still is, it earns a 10/10

Story: From the fanservice and the OP it pretty obvious that this show is a harem. If you've watched Harem/ecchi/romance-comedy anime before you wont really find anything groundbreaking about this anime. So if you don't like these kinds of shows, I suggest you stay away. It is basically your multi-sided struggle over the main male character. I personally have no problems with the alien/marriage theme, but I find the plot of this series all to predictable.
Art: For a new show the animation quality is what you would call decent. Its not high quality, but it isn't crap either (although the first episode did seem
...
to be on the low quality side). In spite of a few sequences (of course the perverted scenes are always drawn a little better to capture the interest of the viewer), I was surprised that the quality was not as good as I expected to be. So if you like top notch designed and colored anime, don't expect it to be the next high def series off the market.
Sound: The soundtrack for this series is not bad. The OP and ED singles are great. I personally prefer the OP over the ED, but its really a matter of taste in music. The BGM has yet to play a role in the series so far, so it really is not much you can say about it as of yet.
Character: I find the cast in general pretty generic, with a few exceptions. The male protagonist strikes me as the one of the most generic, if not THE MOST, characters in the entire series. It literally seems as if he was taken from another romance-comedy series and molded with a different character design. The same could be said for other characters as well who more or less resemble characters from other anime (though have yet to be developed or revealed).
Enjoyment: If really can't decide whether or not you want to watch this, I dont blame you, I find the show a bit iffy, even though I do like harem shows a lot. Like I said, there is nothing really distinctive about this series which explains my semi-disinterest (for the lack of a better term) in this series.

I must say this was very enjoyable read despite its short length.
Story: Simply outstanding story, as expected from KEY. An excellent story from start to finish, however I did find a few things confusing such as Tomoya's memory loss, like many of KEY's works, its a finely tuned story.
Art: I wouldn't say it is a masterpiece in artwork, but the drawing is well done nonetheless. A good mixture of fights, touching moments, and chibis here and there.
Character: A small cast of characters, but definitely one that I loved very much. However, from what I have seen in the Clannad anime, Tomoyo's personality has changed
...
alot, for better or worse it depends on how much you liked her in Clannad. The cast is diverse and I enjoyed each's character's appearance and the impact they have when you read through each chapter, an element of becoming strong.
Enjoyment: Like I said, short, but awesome. It has become one of my favorite manga of all time and I hope that it will be made into an anime, as it could be very promising.
Overall: Despite not getting a perfect score, I absolutely loved this manga. I was pretty skeptical at first why Tomoyo would even have spin-off series for herself instead of continuing her arc in Clannad. But I see Tomoyo's character in a different light now, and become one of my favorite characters in this manga and in Clannad as well.

Story: The weakest area of DC II. The story really has no backbone. There is some character development. But from what I have watched so far, nothing has changed at all! In nine episodes there has only been roughly 2 solid events: Koko's confession and the trip.
Art: Based off a visual novel just like the previous two seasons, there is not much you can really say about the art work, except its well-drawn. Not that there are any significant differences in style.
Sound: I was pleased with the songs in this season. I enjoyed the OP and ED song alot, as well as a few insert
...
songs. The OST is exceptional so far, and I hope I'll be able to get my hands on it soon.
Character: Not much of a difference between the casts of the First Da Capo and this one. Yes, they very much resemble their ancestors with slight differences. But I thought there are some unnecessary characters this time barely affecting the story at all. Nanaka and Koko are my favorite characters so far, the rest of the cast pretty much OK.
Enjoyment: So far the series ranks an OK, I ll lets keep going, although sometimes I am reluctant. I usually can finish an episode in one sitting, but it actually took the course of almost half a day to a whole day to actually get back on track and resume.
Overall: If it were not for the sound, this anime wouldve ranked much lower than I had reviewed the first season of Da Capo. Not much you can really say, that stands out. I guess this would be the standard for "The Average High School Anime."

Story: 9/10. Simply Outstanding story! I enjoyed it from start to end. It digs deep (no pun intended) into the emotions and practically rips them out. And I admit that despite a somewhat simplistic plot. You can easily get drawn in it. My only complaint is the final battle in the last episode, and the epilogue with Simon.
Art: 7/10. The artwork is pretty good. Since Im more used to work from visual novels the score is lower here. The art possessed several qualities from the last series I watched from Gainax, FLCL, with some enhanced modifications. The artwork definitely captures the heart of the
...
story and the show. While there were some scene that were breath-taking, There were a few areas where the art dropped a bit. But the technique seems up-to-date in almost all aspects.
Sound: 10/10. What I consider a great strength in the show the music was fairly captivating. It seemed to put you in the right mood while watching. It takes the scene and enhances the emotions to leave a more lasting impression for the viewers.
Character: 9/10: Another great strength of the series. I am a sucker when it comes to characters with idealistic dreams and goals. But, the characters also seem to reflect other questions and morals that dig deep into your emotions and has you consider them.
Enjoyment: 10/10. I simply loved this show from start to finish. I have marked it as my favorite mecha anime of all time. I have recommended it to almost all the watchers I know. And I still enjoy rewatching my favorite episodes from time to time, and enjoyed as much as when I first downloaded it.
Overall: 9/10~10/10. One of my favorites from Gainax. What I see as a truely a masterpiece of the decade, and probably one of my top choices of Anime of 2007. I will always be a GAR head and a great fan of the series.

Story: 5/10~5.5/10 Its a pretty decent story. Its your average romance comedy, with a sample of drama and magic. Even so, I didn't find anything that particularly there that interested me, except maybe the "Forbidden Sibling Love". There are also a few things that I found "cheesy" such as: "The Island where sakura trees never wilt", "A love struggle between girls" as well as classic harem scenarios. When it first began I kinda enjoyed it, but I started to lose interest the mid to mid-last episodes as they focused more on the relationship between the two of the leads and the main male lead,
...
and condensed individual character stories in to one or two episodes. But I guess its worth watching if you have never watched anime based off of visual novels and other this anime of this genre.
Art: 8/10~8.5/10 The art I must admit is good. The scenes are exceptionally drawn, especially many night scenes and a few morning scenes. The characters are also pretty well drawn for 4 years ago as well, not that art has drastically changed. But for anime based off of visual novels you should expect any less than great animation.
Sound: 7/10 Ok I am a bit biased on soundtracks and music, since I am a music fanatic. The OP and ED songs aren't that shabby. I also enjoyed a most of the insert songs as well. However the OP song grew tedious after a while (maybe the for first 12 episodes I listened and watch). But its a commendable soundtrack nonetheless.
Character: 6/10 You've got the standard package of characters for a usual harem. One main male lead To be honest I liked most of the characters in the series however, there are some I got a bit irritated with (Such as Nemu and Sakura, but I still love them alot nonetheless) after a bit. But the reason why I gave it a lower score was because the character development in the episodes seem kinda shallow and only concentrated on a few of the characters, rather than developing some of the other supposed leads in the series.
Enjoyment: 6.0/10~6.5/10 There were times that I enjoyed it, like in the beginning, and times I felt like dropping it around the middle and mid-end. I guess the last few episodes covering the stories of individual characters was enough to satisfy me to watch and moderately enjoy the end as complete the first season of the series.
Overall: 6/10~7/10 I guess the last episodes played a large factor in my final decision of the series. I was wavering in my final rate between 6~7. I didn't particularly enjoy this season as much as I would've liked as other visual novels, but I guess the presentation was fine enough for me to look into the next seasons.
