Unfortunately the anime is the only season we will be getting out of this series for a long while, as least as of right now. Although this OVA is the best thing I could've asked for as a sequel to the series. This OVA is a must watch for those who enjoyed the anime itself. Typically, an OVA would just be an extra filler episode with comedic material and bonus content for fanservice purposes. This OVA, on the other hand, not only includes that in the first epsiode but the last 2 episodes are the best content you could ask for in this series. To
...
avoid spoilers, I will just say that we mainly get into the backstory of Zeno and it is a truly touching experience and will make you fall in love with him more.

Watching this made me miss HxH so much. As a HxH fan, I mainly watched this because I miss having HxH content to watch since I finished the manga and anime up to the latest update and realized I haven't been involved in HxH lately so decided to watch the movies. This movie brought back lots of memories of the Yorknew City arc.
Honestly, this show was focused more on Killua than anything so it might disappoint some people in a way because it wasn't focused on Kurapika the way you would think it would be but for me I don't mind since I love Killua.
...
Essentially, the story is about how Illumi influences Killua into thinking that having friends only means they will betray you or you will betray them. We are also introduced to a character named "Retz" and we also get some canon Kurapika backstory which is surprising since I thought this movie would be a complete spin-off. So in Kurapika's backstory, we got to see Pairo. The main antagonist for this movie was the 4th member of the Phantom Troupe that Hisoka replaced but for spoilers-sake, I'm not going to disclose his powers or anything.
The thing is, even though the name of the movie is Phantom Rouge, we don't see the Phantom Troupe all that much and we don't see Kurapika as much either apart from his history with Pairo. Basically, if you are expecting a movie about the Phantom Troupe or more performance from Kurapika for his Nen abilities, your expectations won't be met since this is a more "friendship prevails" movie on Killua and Gon's part than anything else.

Out of all the seasons, I'd have to say the writers must have had a hard time thinking of ways to implement the plot in it. The first 4 episodes were insanely boring because we were introduced to "hateable" characters and their annoying backstories with their excuses for ideals and goals for saving the Eldians by becoming "good Eldians". I have not read the manga so I don't know if they have any ulterior motives but as far as we know, we can tell that that's all there is to it. I was also very confused with the time skips from the
...
beginning. I couldn't tell if what was happening was in the present or in the past until a character showed up that made it easier to tell. There was never any specific dating for when events were occurring. We would go from the present to some time in the past to a time even further into the past and then back to the present. After a while I got used to it and could tell but at the beginning it was super confusing.
Later on in the season, more active scenes happen and plot development builds with the action. The plot is good in a way that even the smallest occurrence can cause a huge impact in the behaviour and attitudes of the characters. (SBD for those who watched it lol) A very disappointing thing happened in the show that made me want to stop watching but I continued because I want to see what happens next so this season was good in a way that it made me want to continue watching it. Basically, other than the new characters being introduced and extremely long dialogues with little action that "actually mattered" at the beginning + the confusing time skips, the story is not bad considering the huge plot twists that happen in the story. I also appreciate the character development that happened to our MCs like Armin, Mikasa, and Eren. I have also come to like some of the new characters (with many exceptions) and the way they were put into the plot. This was a good season but not as good as the others were, imo.

If you're looking for the EPITOME of psychogical-horror-thriller-mystery-action seinen manga, Kamisama no Iutoori(ni) is the perfect one that you have been looking for. This manga is by far the best manga I've ever read yet because of it's amazing job at portraying characters, their POVs, the complex plot, well-written storyline, the horrifiying art that just makes you feel not scared but uncomfy and make you want to run back to your mum and tell her to shield your eyes so you won't ever have to see that ever again (said the 13-year old me that read it at night some years back haha). This
...
was my first non-anime manga that I read and I am so glad that it was because it really brought up my standards in anime + manga plots.
Story:
The storyline is very much far from typical. There are frequent plot twists, deaths you never knew would happen, successes you gave up hope on, hopes being crushed, the most despair inducing moments happen and just swallow you whole because of how invested you become into the manga. The plot development was so well-made and by the end of the manga, you feel like you just read a masterpiece and you want to read more.
Art:
The art is amazing; detailed and horrifying in its own way. You wouldn't expect seeing black-holes for eyes (/m) appear in the next page and the character designs are awesome for the students, too. The intricacy is what gets me the most, though.
Character:
The character development in this manga is amazing. We almost feel like we got to meet the characters ourselves by the time we finish the whole story. We feel so emotionally connected and invested to the characters that we either never want to leave them behind or we utterly despise the character so much that you yourself wish you were there to get rid of them once and for all. Meeting new characters is like an adventure for us.
Enjoyment:
Every page of this manga keeps you at the edge of your seat. The plot is so complex that when you start piecing things together and finally solve the puzzle or at least understand the characters' comprehension of the event at hand, you feel like the biggest-brain human in history. When you finish an arc, it feels like you've just won an award or accomplished something huge. The thrilling moments really keeps you on edge and plot twists push you right off the cliff. This manga was so enjoyable and is a 10/10.
Overall:
Since this manga never got an anime, I really hope it does and if it ever does, I hope the art follows its amazing detail. I know for a fact that this story is very much worth your time and is probably the best psychological thriller manga I have ever read yet. I really hope you all give it a try since this is such a masterpiece of a manga.

I have nothing bad to say about this anime. This is literally by *far* the best anime I have watched yet, being so ahead of its time. The character design for Tsuna and the antagonists are great and... well was ahead of its time. This is most underrated shounen I have ever watched yet and I'm about to tell you why.
First let's talk about the audience, actually. Literally any age audience can watch this and still enjoy it. The extreme lack in perverted moments make this anime suitable for audiences under the ages of 16. There is mature and
...
harsh language but there is never any vulgar language, such as sex jokes, explicit swearing and in my opinion is really good for those who want to watch a clean, amazing anime. I could even let my 8 year old brother watch it in my religious household on our large screen TV and even my parents would enjoy it. The content and subject matter, although, is complicated and may be harder for children ages under 12 to understand so that itself would bring the age rating back up to PG-13. There are no insanely gorey scenes so that brings down the restrictions to 13+. Anyways, in my opinion, having a large audience capability makes an anime really good and I think that these features make this anime perfect for the ages 13 and above and even those older than 18 would still enjoy the content and plot this story provides us with.
Now, on to the storyline and plot writing. The first few episodes seem to push a lot of people away because they *seem* like filler episodes, but that's just half the truth. I would say that 80% of the filler episodes is just pure filler while the 20% is actually information you need that is crucial to the story, being a 100+ episode anime. The great thing about the fillers is that they aren't long, boring and dragged out tediously, rather they're more of our comedy break times. Nevertheless, theyre still worth watching especially if you like a bit of comedy. Throughout the series, though, you will get good comedy. As for the plot, the beginning arc may make the anime seem like a lame show with inferior storyline but I'm going to tell you right now that the story really advances later on to a reasonable rate. Our main protag learns very quickly because of his charisma and excellent motor skills so his character development comes along well throughout the show. He is the most typical shounen character but he still manages to capture my heart because of his character development in this show.
As for character writing, I would say that most of the characters' personalities remain stagnant throughout the series but that isn't always a bad thing because there are many positive effects to the plot from their character writing, if that makes sense. The only character we dwelve the deepest into would be Tsuna, some of the villains and *some* of his friends, but I wouldn't put too much expectations in understanding characters more because they aren't written *too* too deeply but written so that you can still lightly emotionally connect and feel character development.
Overall, this anime is just a straight up 10/10 for me and for people like me who enjoy watching a time-worthy anime with the fam.

If you are looking for an adventure anime with magic, plot twists and intricately written characters, this is just the thing for you. I was on an anime hiatus about a year ago but Magi was the anime that made me come back ready for more.
The characters in this show are written nuanced to your typical anime protags. We meet characters along the way that have good influence on the plot and are worth spending time with and supporting characters that are worth analyzing. Our main character, Aladdin is a little magi with strong powers and a strong friend. He meets
...
a greedy but loyal friend named Alibaba who in the future has ambitious goals. Along the way we meet characters and the more we see them, the more emotionally connected we get to them.
The visuals in this show does not let me down at all. The character designs are astonishing and never fail to impress every time we see a new character. The battle effects are utilized perfectly and the user will feel set in the moment in battle scenes. There's a good amount of humour in the show, as well. Although the art changes frequently (comedic moments), it's not so much that it would become overbearing for you to watch the series, after all, it is still a shounen.
To summarize, the plot is excellent and makes so much sense by the end of the show, the characters are well-written, there's frequent plot twists and it's just an overall good anime and a very underrated anime at that.

Summary:
Finishing Death Note felt like I finished a masterpiece. I felt super satisfied with the ending, not because of what happened but because everything felt perfectly delivered and it went the way things should go despite some twists and unexpectancies. There were no overly "lucky" moments that don't make sense at all rather so much things happened the way it would make sense in real life. (Apart from the whole *Death Note* and 'God's of Death' concept itself) The villain (our protagonist) has the mindset of a villain who thinks he's morally correct and our detectives have the mindset of normal human beings who have
...
the right amount of human decency who think *they* are morally correct. Depending on the watcher, the ending was either to be expected or not to be expected.

*Some spoilers but only understandable after watching*
This arc is by far my favourite arc of the trilogy. Although it may be because the Danganronpa 2 cast was my favourite among all of the games. My full review of Danganronpa as a whole will be on the Danganronpa: The Animation page but I just wanted to say that this arc was my favourite since I got to see my favourite characters.
All the Dr2 characters were written so perfectly. First lets talk about Hajime Hinata, our main protagonist of this arc (kind of). His character represents how people would act just to reach their goals through unstopping
...
determination, to the point of losing himself.
Nagito is another character that plays an important role in the story. If you played Dr2, it probably felt like Nagito was the smartest character in the entire Danganronpa franchise. His brain was so big that even the other characters had a hard time comprehending him because of the way his character was written. In the anime, he plots some stuff and somehow gets away with it. Why? Because he's the Ultimate Lucky Student and he manages to keep that title till the very end.
Chiaki Nanami probably had the most "realistic" character development in this show. It showed us that just because you are entitled to your own Ultimate talent, doesn't mean you can't do other things as well. She was like the breakthrough of Danganronpa (as well as Makoto, ig) and I came to really appreciate her by the end of the show. She went from being an introverted gamer head to a class prez who lead the class well all because she kept an open-mind and caring heart.
More Danganronpa reviews will be on other pages.

*Contains minor spoilers*
Summary:
I've read the whole manga after finishing season 1 and can't wait for the rest of the series to be animated. The emotion that the author is trying to express in this story was perfectly delineated and the character development throughout the series is amazing. What makes this amazing is that the series won't be dragged on forever and actually comes to an end. The ending could've been better but I'm 100% satisfied with the battles. The art is over the top but there's too much yelling in the anime however that's how it is so I'm not so
...
particular in that. There's almost no unlikable characters, all of the characters are so lovable, even the ones you thought you hated at the start. At the beginning, getting to know the demon's backstory's got repetitive but then it was still worth knowing because of how it lead up to me hating Muzan even more haha but that's just a personal opinion of mine.
Full Review:
Demon Slayer is such a masterpiece for those who like to be emotionally invested to a Shounen anime. The first noticable thing about this show is that the CGI sometimes looks unbelievably realistic such as the foregrounds, backgrounds, skyviews, the moon, the sun, the trees and more. Camera movements and character movements are also top-notch and the details are excellent.
The plot is simple and easy to understand. It's a typical shounen where our protagonist starts out as a weak character, gets trained to become the strongest character ever to avenge their lost ones, etc. But the great thing about this anime is that (knowing from the manga) it won't be stretched out for so long that watchers will get sick and tired of it (I wouldn't have). For those who prefer animes that are long, but not *too* long, this anime will be for you.
The character developement in this show is too much. Too much goodness, that is. If you're open minded, you may find yourself liking all of the characters for several different reasons because these characters just capture your heart. Whether it's for their personalities, their backstories, their looks, there seems to always be a reason to like a character in this show. You might even find your favourite character to be a demon. The one and only person I dislike is Muzan but that's just because maybe I'm not open-minded enough to bring myself to like him and one other demon (I will not mention due to spoilers) but there are sooo many respectable, lovable characters in this series and makes the show worth watching.
All of KNY's soundtracks are utter masterpieces. The music they use in different scenes really really puts you in the mood. They remind me of Lord of the Rings soundtracks because of how beautiful they sound. The emotional weight they bring about is remarkable. The reason why I'm bringing it down one score for "sound" is because of the yelling in the show. In my opinion, it gets annoying because sometimes the yelling becomes overused which "over expresses" the situation but honestly, it's not that big of a deal. It's what Demon Slayer is known for.

LITTLE TO NO SPOILERS *UPDATED FOR ENDING OF SEASON 1*
Tokyo Revengers is absolute goodness. I, as well as many others, started watching this show for Mikey (character introduced in episode 3) but as you watch, you start to have more and more faves who become more and more lovable as you watch the series. This show is such a bromance type of show where (almost) everyone in your gang are your ride-or-die homies. I love everything about this series but here's my take for the anime as a manga reader.
Story:
Although there are some plot holes in this series, they are very hard to identify, in
...
my opinion, of course. The time travelling concept (issekai) may be already be familiar to some of us but we know for sure that it's not an original concept, nor is the concept of biker gangs but, the concept of mixing these two together was an amazing idea of Wakui, our author who loves to torture us. The anime seems extremely slow at the beginning that rewatching the beginning is kind of boring, picks up near the middle and starts to slow down a lot near the end but the season ends on a high note. Of course, this is regular story plot but when I mean slow, I mean like slow that you kinda want to yawn because barely much is happening and it's mostly talking or thinking instead of doing actual things. But during the action scenes the hype was there. Whenever Mikey throws his kicks, whenever Draken and Hanma face off, whenever Takemitchy needs to find someone to save, etc. It all makes you feel the suspense and gets you at the edge of your seat.
Art:
The art studio probably hasn't put the ideal budget in the show the way we want it to but nevertheless, they still worked hard on it. I'm honestly so grateful for an adaptation for this manga since it's such an amazing story with great characters. The art in some episodes were way worse than the others but most of the time it wasn't that bad. I'm hoping next season will be even better animation.
Sound:
The intro for this anime is an absolute W. It's probably one of my favourite anime intros and one of the best I've heard yet. Also the lyrics to Crybaby are so relevant to the story, especially Takemitchy's character. If you read the songs lyrics, it makes you appreciate Takemichi more and we'll talk abt his character more later. The soundtracks that play during the show are not bad, some are strange but become good later on and the soft ballads they play are very soothing to me.
Character:
Wakui's character writing is insane and he's just so good at making us fall in love with characters that we didn't know we would before. Let's talk about Takemichi, the main character.
Takemichi is one of the most overhated characters I've ever seen and for the worst reason. "He cries too much." I understand why you would think that but even before I read the manga, I watched the anime and fell in love with Takemichi because he is such a tank. He may be 0 Atk dmg but he has 999 def and armour. He is the tankiest of all tanks not only physically but mentally. Imagine seeing all your close friends and loved ones die and still manage to pull yourself together after that. "Yeah but a lot of anime MCs do that yet he still cries like there's no tomorrow." This all the more makes me love Takemichi's character even more. He is the most real person in this show. He shows emotion like a normal human being would by crying his heart away because he just lost his best friend, or his girlfriend, or his dog or whatever Wakui wants us to suffer with (who knows what could happen next? lol) I mean I know I definitely would do that, too. He cries so hard at the fact that he managed to save someone because of all the stress he's been keeping in and finally gets to relieve himself by stepping back and relaxing for even a minute. Then he goes back into the future and guess what? Another problem arises. This perseverance and mental toughness is something that not a lot of people in the real world have. In the manga, you can see his mental health slowly deteriorating and we're starting to see that a little bit in the anime, too.
Overall:
This anime is just such a good story, not only for its plot but also for its characters. You know a show/anime in this case is extremely good when its got both as its best features. Art may not be the best feat that it has but the story and characterization makes up for it. Overall, I love this show and if you haven't started it, this is your sign to check it out right NOW!
