A few moments in the first few episodes will convince you that you might in for some Madoka/Evangelion level of genre-subverting writing. That never happens. This is a very basic story about friendship between little girls and fighting to save the lives of others. I think I would have enjoyed this show a bit more if I didn't have any expectations for it. I do remember there were a couple action scenes that were pretty good, and the characters aren't *horrible*

I don't like that it sucks you in by presenting an epic struggle between these powered up songstresses and an overwhelming ... alien force, and then just kind of puts that in the background and focuses on little girls and friendship. It's that kind of bait-and-switch that has turned me off to several shows.

A harmless show. Not a good show. You won't be staying up late watching it because you just *have* to see what happens next. You'll watch it because it's bright and happy and well drawn. The plot goes no where and you want to take it into the corner and yell at it for not even making an effort at being interesting.

The person who created it seemed to suffer under the misconception that if you are a cook and you are emotionally unbalanced then it will negatively affect the taste of the food you prepare. I have personally eaten food prepared by ... people who were manic, depressed and borderline sociopathic and it was delicious. I however when even in my best mood cannot cook worth a damn.
