The story starts of with Kuronuma Sawako, a young girl that is avoided by everyone due to her appearance, which is quite gloomy or scary. She supposedly can speak to ghosts / see them and if you stare into her eyes for more than 3 seconds misfortune befalls you. These are all rumors and Kuronuma is quite the opposite. She's sweet, kind, and naive. But there was one person who probably saw something in her that everyone else was too blinded by their assumptions to see, Kazehaya Shouta. The popular, handsome boy at school who everyone likes because he's kind and charismatic. But there's more
...
to him that meets the eye. And because of an encounter between the two, Kuronuma's life starts to change, but for better or worse?
The main theme / moral for this anime is to not judge someone by the appearance. To give someone a fair chance, you know, get to know them. And once you get to know them, you can have more things in common than you could have imagined. This lesson can be applied to real life because something like this happened to me, and I'm sure, everyone.
Moving on.
The pacing isn't very fast. Believe me, I can't recall how many time I screamed at my laptop screen saying: "Why the hell don't they get together already!" But I think the slow pacing is very good, despite my impatience. It gives you a chance to get to really know the characters - seeing them for who they are, being with them through all the obstacles they had to face & seeing their relationships grow.
Speaking of characters . . .
The characters were the best thing of Kimi ni Todoke. By far. They all have their own personalities, whether they be good or bad, you'll still love them regardless.
For me the characters didn't just play their roles, it felt like something more; all the predicaments, emotions they felt seemed real. Trust me, the first time I watched this, I teared at at so many scenes, whether they were sad, heartwarming, happy, whatever. The voice actors were perfect for each character; main or supporting. They did a great job conveying the characters' feelings, whatever they happened to be.
The art was very good for a shojo anime. I don't really analyze anything because I don't know what I'm supposed to be looking for, but, I know what I like, and I liked this. The animation was good throughout. Oh, I also liked how the characters looked outside their school clothing - very cute and stylish.
The soundtrack was very good. The ost's suited any situation that was happening. The openings & endings fit perfectly with the series; the lyrics as well.
Overall, you should watch this and come to a conclusion yourself. Because its not like I can convey how great an anime it is through words. Whether you like it or not, its up to you, I could careless because I know how wonderful it is and that's all that matters. This is my favorite shojo anime, that I've watched so far.

When this anime first came out, I didn't give it a second glance, to be honest. I read the synopsis - didn't find it interesting at all. Then, about a month later, I started seeing gifs of it (of Oreki), then I said: "He seems like an interesting character, okay, why don't I give it a chance."; then I started watching it in June - fell in love with Oreki from the first episode.
Story: There really isn't a story. After they solved the "Hyouka" case, they just solved the mysteries that happen around them. Nevertheless, I enjoyed every minute of it. I really like the
...
mystery aspect of it.
Art: Beautiful. That's the only word I have for it. The scenery, characters, everything. I also liked how stylish the characters were, also, if that's considered "art."
Sound: Awesome. I loved both of the openings and endings.
Characters: All of them were interesting in their own little way. Houtarou is my favorite character though; he's just so relatable and, lets not forget, handsome. Then there's Satoshi - I just love his personality, and he's cute. Mayaka; there isn't anything special about her in particular, but I didn't dislike her. Lets not forget the overbearing, annoyance - Chitanda. Lol, but seriously, in episodes 1 through 5, I think, I found her extremely annoying! But thankfully, she gradually began to ease up, in my opinion.
Enjoyment: Looked forward to every episode. Really enjoyed watching how they went about solving the mysteries - it intrigued me.
Overall: Anime is subjective. Just because I really liked it, doesn't mean you will.

This is my first time writing one of these, so here I go. I only watched this to see what all the hype was about, and, I have to say this is overrated, in my opinion. I think most people like this anime for the romance aspect, so, they tend to overlook everything else. Anyway, I really think SAO is boring; yeah, the plot is okay, but they aren't doing a good job of executing it. The characters aren't interesting at all and I really don't have any enjoyment while watching it. But, I'll keep watching to see if it gets better, I guess.
