Review [After watching eps 1-6]

All right here we go. I've decided to make a review so that I could express my thoughts regarding this slightly overhyped shounen series. I'm not going to compare it with code geass because I've dropped code geass recently (for some reason, I really don't like mechas :P and I have only managed to watch a few episodes).

Story: [5/10]

Here goes the story. It takes place in Tokyo in 2039 after the outbreak of a mysterious virus. A random wimp (Shu) meets a cute girl (Inori) who is supposedly a member of a rebel group (wth?) called "Funeral Parlor" and gets ... caught up in a small-scale war between the aforementioned group and the multinational organization called GHQ (an org that governs Japan). Amidst the heart of war, he aqcuired an ability (called power of the king) from a canister which enabled him to extract ZOMG Godlike powers from Inori and other people (those powers are called voids). Each void varies accordingly to a person's personality. Upon witnessing the events that took place, the leader of the Funeral Party (Gai) invites Shu in his rebellion against GHQ, and so the story goes on.

Well for me, the story isn't very original and fascinating, plus the school life part is extremely unneccesary because it reduces the seriousness of the anime. Anyway, there's still a lot of time for it to flourish (we're not even half-way yet), and recently it's slowly picking up its pace, I'm hoping that the plot would get a little better.

Presentation: [7/10]

The art is pretty good, and the soundtrack as well, however some scenes are really odd for me. This series contains wtf beyond chuck norris moments, cheesy, and some lolwut? moments (well, I'm not going to spoil them).

Characters: [6/10]

I'm going to start with Shu. He's basically a wimp, but his character slowly develops as the story progresses. I also hate the fact that he can easily
be deceived, and that he turns into a badass out of the blue whenever he gropes Inori's chest (LOL)

Next would be Inori. All I can say about her is that she is cute, and yes that's all into it. Her character is dull, lifeless, and inconsistent.

Last, but not the least, Gai. He is your typical badass leader figure. I hate the fact that he can execute his plans flawlessly, I'm hoping that it wouldn't go like this forever (it's a bit cheesy).

As for the other characters, they are the usual stereotypes that you would find in many shows.

Overall, this anime has some interesting points however it isn't really mind-blowing. Anyway, it's still quite early so who knows? It might get better
or worse. So for the meantime I'm going to give this a 7 for being a so-so.

Hmm... Well, all I can say is that there's nothing really spectacular about this new series as it uses the same old jokes and themes. The plot is obviously heading to a love triangle or possibly a harem and it's slowly deteriorating in terms of comedy. As for the characters, I've not seen any developments or whatsoever, they are basically a bunch of static stereotypes. I've also noticed that their faces are very similar (with the exception of Kodaka), they only seem to differ according to their hairstyles. The fanservice is also noticable in this one.

For me, that pretty much ... sums it up and I don't mind watching these kinds of series from time to time lol.
