Ousama Game The Animation

While I would consider myself a fan of the survival game, psychological, horror and mystery genres respectively, I would categorise each of these titles near to the bottom of the barrel. Both include a weak and forgettable ensemble cast - primarily due to their 'large cast' syndromes - completely devoid of any character development, realistic reactions to plot-driven events and originality in both design and personality. Each series takes itself unduly seriously, with both suffering from poor plot execution and contrived character interactions, subsequently making prevalent and rehashed plot devices feel abrupt and unnatural. On a more light-hearted note, both posses decent OPs and EDs and can provide for an entertaining watch, as long as you do not go into either series with unrealistically high expectations.

Both TV series revolve around aquatic clubs in a state of quiescence due to lack of funding or regular membership, with each facing a difficult task of revitalisation in order to remain functioning. Each feature a predominantly primary male ensemble who ultimately work together to better themselves and their environment. Both anime have a respectively catchy opening and soundtrack, coincided by fluid and vibrant animation. It also helps that the overwhelming majority of characters aren't harsh on the eyes either~ while simultaneously providing substance and personality. Ultimately, both are a good watch!

Blame! Movie

Both provide intense action and voice-acting, revolving around dystopian worlds set into the future. While Blame! focuses on technology infesting a human world and the aftermaths which occur throughout the succeeding generations, Evangelion's plot has humans and robots coinciding and working together in order to stop the threat against humanity. Ultimately, Sci-Fi and psychological action galore.

While the plots of both series are dissimilar, both share a connection through the portrayal of the characters in a love pentagon (what even?) and the depiction high emotions that coincide with growing up and experiencing trauma. I personally believe they also share a rather homogeneous art-style. Both of these are rated highly in my opinion.

With touching plots both coinciding with traditional, powerful soundtracks- if you like one of them you'll most likely enjoy the other.

Both anime are set in the rural countryside after the main characters move away from Tokyo to sort their lives out. Both feature a small, adorable child in which the protagonist grows to care for. Very similar styles of animation, comedy and general adorableness.
