Wow! I will be honest, I only read from where the second season of the anime ended (chapter 107 on). I have watched many anime that left me wanting to know more and see an ending to the plot, but nothing like Nisekoi has gotten me to binge read the manga to see how it ends. I had a strong urge to know who does Raku choose if he chooses any of the girls that fancy him. Why may that urge be? Read below to see why.
Story 10/10
The plot was really well thought out. Raku made a promise with a girl 10 years ago and
...
the locket he holds around his neck is the symbol of the very promise he cherishes. As the story advances, it leaves lots of hints as to who the girl could be. It leaves you guessing almost right to the end and trying to rule out who it could be and who it can't be (I was team Chitoge throughout reading the manga). Overall, the story was excellent however, the pace of the plot could have been sped up.
Art 10/10
I have not read a lot of manga, so judging the artwork was a challenge. I think the artwork was well done. It did a good job portraying exactly what it needed to. The characters were well-drawn and the emotions they displayed were superbly drawn and complemented the scene well. I do not have any complaints about the artwork.
Character 10/10
Overall, the characters had their own personalities. Some characters I did not like (will focus on main characters only), but their personalities and why I did not like them made sense as to why they are the way they are by the end of the story.
Raku: He is an excellent guy! A great personality and a big heart that makes someone look up to a character. He could be more aware of the girls around him and not be so dense, but that is how the protagonist is in a harem.
Chitoge: She is fiesty but sweet. We first see her as the angry gorilla girl, but as the story unfolds, we start to see her more feminine side.
Kosaki: A stunning personality that can warm anyone's heart. She is always thoughtful and considerate, though it is also her downfall as well.
Marika: She is very good at understanding people and what is happening around her. I found her annoying because her antics were always the same and never really varied. However, the way she acts makes sense later in the story. In the end, I came to not dislike her character as I first did.
Shuu: You can't help but just laugh at him, especially when he has fun around Ruri. He always comes across as a goofball, but he is an amazing character and has a lot better of a personality than is normally portrayed by him.
Ruri: Very intelligent and can read the situation well. No complaints about her.
The other characters had a good role to play and they played them well. I did not have issues with them and have no complaints.
Enjoyment 10/10
I thoroughly enjoyed this manga and anime (the anime was the reason why I had to read the manga to know the ending without just searching it up). The harem was very fun to watch as they get into their antics of trying to win Raku's heart. I laughed. A lot. Again, my only wish was for the plot to move a bit faster.
Overall 10/10
The manga itself was amazing and is one of my favourites by far. I loved the plot, art, characters, and enjoyed reading every moment of it. The ending was exactly what I was wanting when I started reading the manga. It was fun to see the heated moments Raku unintentionally got put in. Perhaps a sequel could be in order (you must read to the end to see what I mean and ponder how well that could work). My main criticism (does not detract from the rating) is the plot could have moved a bit faster.
