To me, this was like a somewhat high quality whiskey.

I won't talk about specific spoilers, but about the type of manga this is and becomes, which I would consider spoiling it quite a bit.
The story is intriguing when it makes any progress, and I was really curious about how things would end up. The author has a general plan from the start, where he starts off with a lighthearted tone with some serious parts and then pumps up the grittyness more and more as it goes on. This was honestly a disappointing story, which I felt had a lot of potential in the beginning.
The best part of the story is the couple in focus and their relationship, they're somewhat tragic people who found each other and really rely on each other as reasons to live. Their relationship is strengthened and the story has it's most touching moment in my opinion when a secret one of them has is exposed, and I really enjoyed most of what happened up to this point. But there are unfortunately other characters in this story, who are written so childishly I could hardly believe they weren't used for ... |
