Both shows focus primarily on life of High School boys and the challenges/comedic moments that they go through. They are also both broken up into mini shorts in each show so it is very easy to watch. Both have great laugh out loud scenes and are great watches whenever you are in the mood for some great comedy!

Corpse Party: Tortured Souls - Bougyakusareta Tamashii no Jukyou

I absolutely loved Elfen Lied. While many people it is just trying to be deeper than it really is, it is still a great watch and a pretty decent story. The ONLY reason I am recommending Corpse Party is for the gore. If you are into over the top gore than it is the show for you. It's story is absolute garbage, especially in comparison to Elfen Lied. But both have the over the top gore that many people like.

One Punch Man

Almost everyone has seen One Punch Man at this point, but I think if you enjoyed it you will also enjoy Hataraku Maou-sama! Both have action and comedy elements mixed into it, but many differences. One Punch Man has a lot more action than Hataraku Maou-sama! but both have a similar comedy style. A lot of laugh out loud moments in both.

Koe no Katachi

Both of these movies are absolute emotional rollercoasters. They are both aesthetically beautiful and have great stories. Kotonoha no Niwa is a very short watch, but still is able to deliver a very simple yet emotionally filled story. Koe no Katachi speaks for itself, and on my personal list is the only 10/10 I have ever given out. If you have dealt with any mental illness or bullying I advise you watch while you are in a safe environment. It was a life changing experience for me and one of the few Moives/Anime that have ever made me cry like a baby. I recommend both highly!!

If you are a fan of violent and gory anime both of these will absolutely be up your alley. Besides that they also have some historical elements as well that I feel really elevate the experience of watching. While in a few ways they do have some key differences, which I do not want to say as they will spoil the show. Even with these differences they still have the same overall vibe of being ultra-violent and gore filled. I highly recommend!!

Devilman: Crybaby
add

Both are terrific shows and both deal with pretty existential themes throughout. I watched Devilman: Crybaby first and fell in love with it right away. The large amounts of violence and gore plus a good story really tie together the whole show. I then watched Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu and was gripped in the same way I was with Devilman: Crybaby. Both have a very similar vibe to it, and have plenty of violence and gore, but backed by a story that can get you hooked fast. I highly recommend both if you are a fan of gory anime.

Grand Blue

I originally watched Grand Blue and was looking for something with the similar raunchy comedy. Not a lot of shows really felt the same to it. But then I found Prison School. They both are absolutely absurd and have plenty of moments where I was to the brink of tears from laughing so hard. I highly recommend both if you are looking for a show that holds nothing back, and has extremely crude humor.
