Melancholy. Sadness. Nostalgia. These are the feelings that most people have when looking back at past relationships. This is also the flavour that makes the essence of this bittersweet tale called 5 cm per second.
Divided into three short stories, it follows the fate of a relationship, but mainly Takaki Tono, the male lead and his friend/love interest Akari Shinohara.
Even when things look better you get a feeling of bittersweetness, mainly because of the beautiful artwork and animation: From lonely train rides, to rose sunsets, the scenarios reflect the state of mind of our characters, portraying their emotions more so than their words.
