The main characters are pretty similar. You have the slightly dense main boy who has new powers and the girl who looks after him. Both of them have a best friend who has some secrets and is not your average teenage boy like he pretends to be. Both of them involve familiars and have supernatural elements. They are really quite similar.

Both of the main characters are able to see things that others can't, namely spirits and such.The main characters have lived a lonely childhood due to this fact and are shunned by their fellow students. If you like shows where the main character is the only one to see spirits in our world, you'll like both of these as they seem pretty similar.

For a start the characters have pretty much the same name. Both have grown up being an outcast and thought of as odd. In reality they each have a unique ability/something only they can do. There is action in both, more action in Broken Blade, but still action and epicness. They both have a blonde who likes them and both are friends with the king. This show is still really awsome! :)
