I can truthfully say that this has become my favorite series of all time. The gist of the story can be very generic, seeing that its about a kid beating the devil and such, but everything about this anime was amazing.
Story: 9/10
Its not a 10 because the idea isn't exactly original. They took the idea and created an amazing anime out of it. The characters in the anime seemed to fit together perfectly, even if the anime doesn't follow the manga. Props to Katou for creating this beautiful thing.
I even got some life lessons from this anime, essentially. I go to church every
...
Sunday, but what I personally learned is that:
"your lineage or motives don't define who you are, but your actions do." -myself
I should be a philosopher.
Art: 10/10
What really caught my eye and made me start watching was the art. The style was done so well, and it has the modern feel to it. From facial structures to Michael Bay style explosions, there absolutely nothing that says negative things about the art.
Sound: 10/10
This was the second thing that caught my... ears. The first opening was jawdropping. A small section of drums and bass rock into some of the smoothest saxophone sounds I've ever heard, then branching into some amazing singing. That was the nail in the coffin; I was gonna watch.
Without a doubt, every other opening and closing song sounded awesome in their own way. You can truly hear emotion from them.
Character: 9/10
The anime was a little rushed, as they needed fillers differing from the manga. That gives less space for character development. However, they really got some nice voice actors, defining the characters very well.
Enjoyment: 10/10
Ii'm buying an Ao no Exorcist poster for my room. And I don't have that many posters. Nuff said.
