Both are set in a future where there's advanced tech at a lot of people's fingertips. Both are about underdogs that have grown tired of rigged matches and are wanting fair ones, ones where they have a shot at winning with their own skill. Both are about taking their skill to professional levels and showing that they are just as good, if not better than everyone else there.

Both shows deal with romance(obviously), but approach them with care, passion, and with considerable detail. Both deal with family issues, between Taiga and her dad never being around, and Okazaki and his once abusive father turned drunkard, though these issues are NOT the same, both leave these two different characters bitter and resentful because of that. Both shows have lives changed for the better, they explore the lives of people they've introduced to the audience, and get you invested and also get you to feel like you're part of the group. Clannad is by far my favorite anime of all time, and nothing has really come close to being similar enough with the relationships and how far the story takes it, or the show ends after they get together. So I thought I'd need two recommendations to cover this anime. Lastly, both shows will leave your heart feeling melancholic after you finish watching them. Or at least it did mine.

I'd now like to talk about the child dynamic in both shows, and how in both children are left without one of the parens or both, and are then responsible for the child. Both Okazaki and Daikichi struggle to take care of these kids, they try their best, but end up needing the help of others. Not that needed help from other people is a bad thing, but relying on them too often to do things is. Not to mention that both shows have HUGE emphasis on family and taking care of one another. Both Okazaki and Daikichi eventually grow to love and cherish these kids. I think with that said, and with how both these shows together make up what Clannad is about. I think you'll love both of these shows if you haven't seen them already. If you have, then hey, go rewatch them!

Both are shows about characters living in different worlds from what they were used to. Both have brilliant minds that come up solutions on how to deal with their surroundings(Senku, and Oda). Plus, not to mention, both use what they make for future plans Both end on huge cliff hangers, sadly. But more importantly, both are about two sides opposing the other, and are definitely worth watching.

Both shows have similar character types; like Saber from F/Z and Sharyuu, both characters are looking for a way to save people through fairytale like means. Obviously these shows are battle royals, but they never really feel like they are, Fate/Zero is more character and ideology driven, and where they then realize they're going to have to crush someone else's dreams in order to achieve their own. Personal note; I think that if you loved Fate/Zero, then don't watch UBW, just don't. If you loved Zero's top notch, meaningful fights, then I promise you, you'll love Juuni Taisen's.

Both shows have the main character doing odd jobs, and leaving a lasting impression on those they help out Both Onizuka and Kentaro tech others about life. Both are insatiable perverts that do and imagine bizarre things, for comedic effect. All in all, I recommend this anime even though there are only 6 episodes, it's fun to come back to and watch, I think it's refreshing to watch after you become sick of seeing the same old same old each season.

Both shows have mentors that teach their pupils important lessons about life and how they should use restraint. The meaning of caring for someone, and family. Obviously Esp, need I explain further. But most importantly, both have huge character development that leaves you stunned and shocked, but also fulfilled and happy that you got to see them grow and mature.

Both shows use similar themes, the use mythology, and even use similar storytelling methods. In both Boogiepop and in Durarara, they don't have one main character be focused on, but rather focus on multiple people at the same time, and tie how they're apart of what's going on. Both shows truly get you to feel like you're apart of their world and are engrossed in what goes on in them. So if you enjoyed watching Boogiepop and seeing all the bizarre supernatural phenomena go on, then I urge you to go watch Durarara!

Both center around high school boys who happen to get into bizarre scenarios, and are put into awkward situations with the unlikeliest of people. Both are based off of gag-manga, and both share similar styles. If you're looking for something dumb, and bizarrely hilarious, I highly recommend this!
