Non-objective opinion because I was too moved by this story.
I really like this anime.
Read the spoiler part to understand why, I can't write a review without saying too much, my story will make you understand my choice to praise this anime ;)

Because that's pretty much what I experienced, removing the context of high school and the fact that she goes to his house every day at the begining...
We were both a little excluded, even reclusive and withdrawn, she jealous for the same reasons as the heroine and me withdrawn, lacking confidence.
Our story followed a very similar development, caring for each other, supporting each other for a conclusion that was just as similar. Everything opposed us at the base, yet our relationship began almost in the same circumstances as those of this story, sincere but a little annoying friends who understand what is happening in front of us, we, like the protagonists of this anime, hid our feelings during almost 2 years (yes it's more than in the anime ^^)
I tell myself that if this had happened to us, the screenwriters could very well have been inspired by a story similar to ours, written by chance or for commercial motivation to satisfy the fantasies of a public in need of love.
Perhaps we are an "exception" but if among the mass of the public concerned, one or one person, or even both in a similar situation, receives through this story a message which is perhaps not wanted by the screenwriters. I hope it will be a good thing for them and perhaps unfortunately a bad thing for others...
We'll never know ;)
