Both anime give a similar feeling within the comedy. The art direction is similar in both anime with characters that are just as lovable. If you enjoyed watching Konosuba this anime is your next stop.

Kenja no Mago

These anime are similar in many ways, with the protagonist in both being OP (although to a lesser extent in Absolute Duo) and the academy setting. Where Absolute duo has a large focus on the academy life Kenja no Mago looks more at the world in which they live in. These anime both have well animated action scenes and likable characters. Both of the protagonists also only go for one girl (although in Absolute duo Harem tropes do appear). The music in both pieces aren't anything to be amazed by but they complement the action well, and Absolute Duo contains a good opening as well.

The story within both of these anime are incredibly enjoyable with fun likable characters appearing in both. The action within these anime are enjoyable to watch and fluid. Tsubasa Chronicles is very much set up as a different story a week with a fun vibe with a depressing undertone. This is very similar to Sword Art Online as it has a sad story but very uplifting enjoyable moments. Both anime have great character development with Tsubasa Chronicle taking the lead as each episode develops the characters extremely well whereas Sword Art Online doesn't always deliver the development. For those that are interested in romance it does appear in both however Tsubasa Chronicles follows a more 'pure' love kind of route whereas Sword Art Online is solid in the first half but devolves into a more harem anime set up so romance isn't as focused on. If you enjoyed either of these anime I would recommend to try the other.
