Now, I don't give reviews out all too often but I felt that this was deserving of one for a couple of reasons: 1. The animation is absolutely beautiful, 2. The character designs, especially the eyes feel weirdly nostalgic and remind me of other older anime and 3. The series seems to be getting some undeserved hate.
Story
So, I have been in the market for a nice simple adventure anime for a while now as I have been watching a lot of emotionally intense anime or very SoL anime. When I saw Fena i was immediately drawn to its very simple swashbuckling adventure style take
...
on things, weirdly reminiscent of One Piece and also Bioshock Infinite. The story follows a young lady who was found washed ashore after being seperated from her family and friends. YEars later it seems that she is being sold of to a rich nobleman to be her plaything. As she is being hauled up the stairs to face her fate, she is rescued by two people from her childhood and I kid you not, a troupe of ninjas.
I'll not explain anymore of the story to avoid spoilers but i will say this about the story: It sets off at a breakneck pace and doesn't seem to stop, this isn't a bad thing at all as it creates a nice rolling story with something always happening. Which is nice.
Perhaps i am a little biased as this is exactly what i have been looking for for a while now.
Characters
Though i am still getting to know them and can;t remember their names as of yet as i am only a couple of episodes in, i do have to say, i enjoy most of the characters when they are on screen (especially the twins, who come into it later). Fena herself is a very driven young lady with a good wit about her and a good sense of humour, though i do feel that she has a lot of unearned respect from everyone around her, it isnt something that is too damaging to her character, rather i think it makes the mystery behind who she actually is more appealing. I just hope they follow through with her character more.
Each character seems to have their own humour and story too which is nice, each character seems to have a unique relationship with each other and interactions too. I'll not go into too much detail but i think its building a nice network of people that feel like they have real relationships.
Animation
Stunning animation with a lot of very slapstick moments and excellent facial expressions to boot. it flows well and the animation is simple with it's character designs which makes for a lot of great character movements and expressions. It's great animation, 'nuff said.
Sound
Alright really.
Enjoyment
I am enjoying Fena a lot, it's a nice simple anime that really doesnt deserve the hate it's getting. It's supposed to be a simple adventure story with not a great deal going on in terms of complex storey telling, but rather a nice treat that you didn;t know that you wanted until you had it. It isn't going to be for everyone but certainly it's shaping up to be an enjoyable ride.

Great little story, not a great deal of story but a nice little slice of life and romance mixed together.
Story 6
There isnt a great deal of story here, apart from the Takagi-san esque building of a romantic relationship through teasing.
Art 7
Theres something charming about the art style here. its kind of like oremio. The art is cutsey and does is job well, especially in the reactions department and is good enough to convey lovely moments between the characters.
...
Characters 8
Both the MC's are ace. Himewaka is the good old teasing blonde haired popular girl and has some great reactions and nice little changes in character.
Doujima is probably the most chad MC i have ever seen and turns the tables regularly on Himewakas teasing and bullying, usually embarrassing her in the process. (like a reverse Takagi san)
Enjoyment 9
I'm really enjoying this overall, its given me some good laughs and the characters are endearing.
Overall 8
Perhaps not for everyone, but its every nice and enjoyable ride between two very good characters. i'd definitely keep up with.

So I feel a weird need to defend this manga as the reviews i am seeing are giving it some very undeserved hate.
If you are reading this manga seriously, or taking it seriously as you would say; Akira or a serious romance, then you are reading it wrong. Kanojo mo Kanojo is meant to be taken as a light hearted, trashy (not in a bad way) comedy romance harem.
To avoid too many spoilers i want to avoid speaking about the characters as much as i can. However, i will say that there is one of the best Tsunderes in here that i have ever seen
...
in the form of Saki. On top of this, Naoya is the "oblivious plain guy" that has been an anime/manga trope for a long time and he is cranked up to 11 but with actual gumption and purpose and in all honesty: pretty well written as he has his core values that he sticks to and isnt just a blank oblivious slate.
The story is a simple one: Guy has a girlfriend (surprisingly the childhood friend) and then gets confessed to by another cute girl. His answer to this conundrum? Why not just have two girlfriends?
The story is a simple one but its played very tongue in cheek and has provided me with many laughs and it does quite often pull the rug from under your feet with the characters reactions and interactions with eachother. In all honesty, i feel as if it does a very good job in subverting normal tropes and makes them funny in a new way.
I am certainly enjoying this manga and will buy the volumes if they ever are released in English and will be watching the anime when it is released in July 2021., so it certainly gets my recommendation as a darn good easygoing laugh.

If you had told me a year or so ago that one of my favourite animes ever would be about a little girl reading books i'd have called you insane. but yet, here we are.
There are very few stories that i know of that begin so comfy, a simple premise about a girl getting isekai'd and ending up as a feverish sickly girl in a medieval Europe setting. she is a daughter of a poor family but still retains her memories.
The story slowly develops into a merchant story but then also develops into a story with genuine world changing political intrigue. I could write
...
reams about the characters but i believe what i can say has been said by many others in a far better way.
All in all Myne has become one of my favourite little characters and i cannot wait for season 3.
If you are on the fence about this series, please pleas please watch it

I haven't written a review in a while, however, a heart-warming story such as this i think deserves it.
The story follows the story of Asako, a young lady who works as a cosmetics and fragrance company. she is also is very self conscious of her excessive sweating and body odour. Its nice to see a real every day problem portrayed in a very well thought out way. The story follows her meeting and falling for the companies high flying golden boy Natori. in a chance encounter he sniffs her out (literally) as he hasn't smelled a scent like hers before. From there we are
...
treated to a very well though out and written adult relationship. its not always happy, there are worries and anxieties in both parties and what I feel are real thoughts feelings and hang ups that every relationship has.
This manga does have sex in it and some partial nudity so it is aimed at older teens adults (nothing too bad, only the stuff you'd see in a fledgling relationship). What is nice about it though is that the fan service and sexual scenes are not only tasteful but are used to highlight a moment rather than be played for laughs or cheap fan baiting and are actually part of a budding relationship.
I'd say the only odd thing is the premise of Natori having a smelling fetish but this isn't too badly done.
All in all it is a really lovely telling of a real adult relationship with a lot of thought put into the writing, simple anxieties and problems that a new relationship faces. its lovely to see both Asako and Natori grow as people and work their way through their misgivings, past relationships and problems.
if you are unsure whether to pick this up i will give it my personal recommendation as being one of the most well written adult relationships ive read since Golden time
comfy/10

You know in times like this, you need something positive, usually in 5 different flavours. though a few reviews that I have seen seem to be down on this anime/manga for one reason or another, i can simply say this isnt for everyone but it absolutely is worth a watch or read at least to try.
Yes its a harem series and you either like or loathe them but i personally loved this series and am hyped for the second series. I can go over what many have said on here before me, thus i will keep this review short:
QQ is a real heartwarming series
...
about growth, personal history and finding love in what seems to be an impossible situation. its also a real life look into how you may feel stuck in a situation or in a mindset but then also how the introduction of a new person into your life can tear all of that down and allow you to grow as a person. We see this happen in every sister in the series along with the MC. Each of them begin to change in subtle ways and then eventually their mindset changes and then them as a person. Special mention goes to the sisters Nino and Miku, personally im finding their growth as the most enjoyable!
Definitely give this series a go if you want something light hearted and fun to enjoy. dont let the other overly serious reviews bring your opinion of this down! Its definitely worth a watch and for me as a thoroughly enjoyable experience all the way thorough, seeing the characters grow and change amnd with the promise of finding out which becomes the bride by the end of it!
Became one of my fave series of this year and i cannot wait for season 2 in January 2021!

You can call me biased right from the start with this one as Nisekoi is my favourite harem series along with Quintessential Quintuplets.
Nisekoi is not a new story. However, some of the best stories in existence are stories that we all know and love but told in a different way or a story we all know and love but the characters in it are the spice that makes that well worn story really shine.
Nisekoi is in this latter category, the story of a harem anime is very well established with some semi clueless fella building a harem, whether by accident or on purpose. Nisekoi, however,
...
stands out because it takes this concept and adds some of the most wonderful, charming and enjoyable characters that ive ever seen in a anime/manga. Along with this its got some of the best story and character development, it doesnt just stay as a harem series with one person exhibiting one trait, furthermore, the characters also have their own relationships with other members of the cast and aren't just boiled down to a 'dere' trait for everyone they meet.
Lets take an example or two:
Chitoge Kirisaki is a typical Tsundere at the start, and still is to some extent by the end. There is, however, a very noticeable character arc and reasons (ill not go into them because they are enjoyable to read and they are spioilery). There's a reason why she acts the way she does and its life changing for her to go through these changes and though she tries to deny a lot her emotions and feeling begin rising to the surface with the other characters around her acting as a catalyst for that change.
Another character who adds a real good element to the story is Onedera whos relationship with the other characters, especially her relationship with Chitoge and how she really goes out of her way to make a real solid friendship with her. Thoiugh she is the 'shy and timid' girl, though doesnt really fir into a 'dere' type. Although she is very shy and clams up because of anxiety she is one of the most complex characters as she really pushes her way though that anxiety and forces herself to take those steps towards what she wants, even though its timidly and she often fails. but once she has that step taken she really develops as a character with it. TO avoid spiilers im going to move away from this topic area.
Finally, i'd like to talk about the supporting characters of Nisekoi and how they are not only integral for the story but how well developed they are in their own right. Two of the best ones i feel are Ruri Miyamoto and Seishiro Tsgumi. Both of these characters help drive the plot forward and have their own relationships and character arcs but they are also interesting in their own right when they get speaking to characters that they have not met beforer or get placed in situations that they have not experienced before.
Ruri especially has some of the best interactions with Onedera in the series often acting as the loving but straight girl to Onederas anxious episodes.
Tsugumi (best girl) on the other hand has a real good character arc which i wont spoil but i know im in a small camp here for this one but the character growth for her is fantastic, placing her in my books as best girl. along with Chitoge!
If you are reading this: definitely consider Nisekoi for a watch/read. you'll find it absorbing and one of the most pleasant walks through a manga series you could wish for.

I don't think i have ever come across a series, book, program, manga, anime or other piece of media that moved me as much as A place further than the Universe did.
I'm going to keep my review short as i think many have said what i want to say many times before but if you are reading this: Please watch this program. Especially if you are at a time of your life where you are lost on where to go or feel as if you need to break out of a rut or need inspiration or simply want a good well crafted set of
...
characters to go on an adventure with and have real deep emotional payoffs with.
i cannot do justice to how good A place further than the universe is as its the only piece of media that has made me cry, as in sobbing. I genuinely feel as if this series inspired me to travel again (which i am doing to Reykjavik) but also really showed me how beautiful anime can be when telling a real, emotionally charged slice of life story.
If you are reading this: please don't miss out on one of the only pieces of media that i would class as an absolute masterpiece.

Man, i certainly wasnt expecting to get hooked by a wholesome cute girls do cute things series.
That aside Bocchi is one of the most wholesome main characters i have ever come across.
Even though i wasnt sold on the first episode something about its charm kept me going andf my goodness i ended up falling in love with the series. The character development and hurdles that she overcomes are not only tangible but also you see her progression very nicely from episode to episode and see how it affects her and her friends when she slips back down.
overall its a very wholesome series and
...
im loving it! Its got a wonderful silly humour to it as well.
The OP is criminally upbeat and catchy.
would recommend 8/10 for wholesome! I can only hope they do a crossover with Komi next time
