Chaotic and Amazing. I went into this show not expecting much and was blown away, just barely off from a 10. The story is funny in a unique way, the characters are consistent and relatable and the references. You need to watch at least Haruhi before this, because there are so many Haruhi references. References to other shows as well. Name drops out of nowhere or flat out using a scene from another show. You can't predict where this show goes, but you will want to follow it regardless. Code Geass: Hangyaku no Lelouch

I re-watched Death Note immediately prior to Code Geass, and found myself on multiple occasions thinking 'Light would/wouldn't do [blank].' Just because of the incredibly similar plots. I think Death Note is better, and part of that would be because the protagonist is willing to do anything. Don't get me wrong, the story is decent and it is a good mecha, there is just hesitation which feels wrong. The visuals are mostly quite stunning and voice acting is quite good, it's just that inkling in Lelouch's character which I have a problem with.
