Being separated from the main story, IDOLiSH7 Vibrato has the chance to focus more on the daily routines of the main cast. It can dedicate an entire fourth of its runtime to a scenario we're all familiar with: planning on doing something fun together for your day off, settling on nothing, and wasting the entire day at home. And it ends up being one of the most heartwarming stories in the franchise, as it demonstrates how much the cast cares for each other, not in grand gestures, but in the little things, each and every day. Non Non Biyori is much the same way. While the two series might not share much in terms of cast demographics, the human connection factor shines just as true, and honestly, the senses of humor overlap more than you might expect. Non Non Biyori moves at a relaxed pace, letting scenes just breathe and stand for themselves. The cute scenes avoid feeling artificial, and the sibling dynamics are refreshingly realistic. There's no over the top showy declarations of friendship or affection, and the anime is better served for it. The girls might grumble or tease, but in the end, you know they're there for each other.
