Assassins & Humor..?
The author of this series really gives a unique take about the darker side of the world, and I also love how the author portray the protagonist as a fatass who runs a convenience store, whose identity is shrouded by blood & violence. It also have a diverse set of characters starting from Shin, the mind-reading sidekick, to an eccentric cast of assassins and allies, the manga is filled with memorable characters. The interactions between them add depth to the story while keeping it fun and engaging.

"Abandoning your uniqueness is equivalent to dying" Every episode just feels so incredible. The staff understands this story and its sentiment at such a deep level it's incredible. They laid off the crazy visuals and overly creative aspects to make the buildup to their playing more grounded and the focal point of the episode rather than the visual aspect itself, and then brought it out once they were in the clear. They know exactly what they want to do, and how to achieve it and it's just so awesome. They mix and match and play with a back and forth of everything ...

NieR: Automata tackles the philosophical theme of meaning and existential despair, it revolves around topics such as finding your cause, finding a reason to live, a reason to fight, and the profound feeling of despair over that struggle. It has an incredible story and some of the best action combat systems ever developed, and while it's not the best-looking title out there, it's still a beautiful one. It's one of the best games of all time, I hope this anime will live up to expectations.
