Therapy and a poly relationship could have saved us the drama.

I don't even know what to say.. I've read many gender bender/love triangle manga and this one felt like the worst one of all.. so many unnecessary explicit scenes and for what?? I know I know it's a manga about sexuality why wouldn't it showcase that yeh- but lemme break it down..

To start off at the beginning of the Manga majority of Mikako's scenes has her "working" her "customers" scene until the mangaka realized she was supposed to be a main character as well with real dialogue and importance. Her backstory being shoved ... in towards the very end was laughable to me.

Kaito is described as good looking but I honestly couldn't see it so I didn't get the hype. And his character took a nose dive after he found out about mikako side hustle and never really recovered in my eyes. Like you're literally doing the same thing why are you suddenly a moral center??? His explicit scenes were whatever not as overdone as mikako

Yuki was dragged into all this mess and I wish she cut them off sooner but girlie was freaky too. I got bored of the "only hot and heavy in uniform" kink and I found it hard to relate to her feelings towards Kaito and Mikato, as her role in the narrative felt inconsistent.

In the end I guess all three of them matched each others freak but was that enough to salvage it? No it still sucked

This was a shit show from beginning to end
Not sure where to start.. the awful characters? The bad execution of an actually good premise? The CHARACTERS?? And they're dumb and irritating actions??? Like the fact that the Main girl was hung up on the guy from start to finish. Said guy being a shitty person stringing her along and his ever so nice girlfriend whose whole personality is being "nice and never doing shit" the other guy was slightly more tolerable..

Hatori never once developed throughout the story and was a whiny brat all through.. And the ending oh my God... Just pissed me off.. ...

I'd like to recommend another manga that actually handled the whole "unrequited love" and "anti-heroine" trope wayy better than this train wreck.. Koi wo Shiranai Bokutachi wa

Ahh Angel Beats my first Jun Maeda anime.
One thing I've noticed about Jun Maeda work is that they follow this format: -First few episodes are mostly slice of life-ish and we see what the characters are like.
-Then in the middle episodes, the story goes a full 180 and turns into some dramatic angsty show. And the main character little sister dies (this happens in his other anime Charlotte)
-And of course the final few episodes is just a cluster f*ck of everything mixed with action scenes.
And that's the Jun Maeda system. Anyways back to the actual anime.

Angels beats is one ... of my favorite anime that was a real tear-jerker.
The premise of the show and the characters were interesting but I'm afraid it wasn't executed fully well. The anime would have worked if it were 16-22 episodes Instead of 13... Tanade was my favorite character but we didn't really get to know her the first few episodes she's seen as this emotionless person, then later we find out what she's really like but it still fell flat to be honest. The same goes for every other character not much is known about them and they don't get enough screen time.
The final few episodes were God awful, the whole “plot twist” (If you can call it that) made no sense.

The sound track in the anime was wonderful though! I still listen to the opening today.

The animation was fine I guess for anime made in the 2010s.

Despite all its fault this was one of the few animes that actually made tear up so it has a special place in my heart.
