Given was one of the first bl series I tried and I obviously loved it so much. With that said, the prequel series might have raised my expectations so much and it might’ve made the sequel movie quite underwhelming for me in a way that it didn’t offer the same emotional impact on me as the first season did. That may be because I’ve already read the manga, but there is definitely something missing in the movie.
The movie skipped a lot of scenes, and not just random scenes, they skipped the most important scenes from the manga which I am not gonna talk about

When the anime was announced I was one of the people who was most excited but one thing bugged me later on. It was announced later on as an anime with only 13 episodes in its first season. This made me feel like it will be rushed since the manhwa had around 80 chapters for its first season. How would they fit that much content in a few episodes. However, being the big Tower of God fan that I am, I disregarded those concerns and still expected a lot from it.

A lot of popular anime tend to be cool but lacks a great plot while others are the opposite. Promised neverland combines those elements to create one of the best anime.
