Like many, I was hesitant to give this show a try due to it's visuals. But shortly after, all of these doubts dissappeared. This is THE show that may have struck gold in the CGI department since no episode fells left behind regarding the animation, so the main concern should not be a concern at all.
However there is a slight problem that needs to be adressed and that is the pacing.
I have not completed Hibike! Euphonium, so I cannot provide too much info on the subject... But the pacing in said show respects the feelings and insecurities of the characters on its lenght. GBC does
...
not. The days in which anime had an uncertain number of episodes to adapt the best as they could the material that were given were long gone. The 13 episode format does not help the show at all at the end which made the whole ordeal bittersweet and caused me to lower the score from what coulda have been a 9/10 show to a 8.
I really liked every character on the show, even Nina. If you think about it, the rebellius, selfish, gutsy attitute of hers was needed in order to progress the show and represents exactly how the relationship between musicians. If every head is a world, then every artist head is a universe: it is a mixture of emotions, coping mechanisms, excuses, objectives and inspirations that create such an amazing spectrum and gives birth to the best of friendships.
I see a very common complaint as well and that is the music. Since I started seeing most animes as mere advertisements for the real product I think the music filled it's purpose. Nothing more, nothing less. This may sound counter intuitive for many, being that the show is about music but I think it fits the narrative. After all, a performance does not take that much of a time when you think about it. It is the process that leads to the most intense minutes of your life. I found myself tearing up a couple of times seeing them have so much fun so effortless, playing the instruments since I struggle a lot with one of my own and I used those feelings to motivate me practice.
But the rectangle down below is reminding me that you guys are not interested in what did the anime made me feel, so... lets wrap it up.
GBC is an amazing CGI show that could benefit tremendously from more episodes but creates a concise, easy to binge, melodramatic and sometimes funny story about pursuing your dreams and expressing the bottled emotions that you may have through the power of music. Give it a try. Watch the king of CGI shows that are not that bad.

Unique. Comforting. Satisfying.
As I have grown into my 30's I've found myself looking at less and less anime, venturing even more into the current trending show on demand or in your favorite money-consuming streaming service due to my favorite concept of the year: FOMO, or fear of missing out.
So you could imagine my surprise when all of a sudden I started this show about a short king and a tall beauty and found myself rooting for the success of his relationship chapter after chapter, enjoying the introspection of this boy that all of a sudden realizes that the whirlwind of emotions inside of him
...
has a proper name: liking someone else.
The "what if" factor plays a huge role in my enjoyment of the series; since me, being 6ft tall and all, never found myself in the position of dreaming of a girl who can (as my latin american brothers and sisters may say) reach us the cereal box from the tall cabinet. Because of this, the size difference between the characters also reminded me of this joyful series called Lovely Complex that you may be interested if you enjoy this one. Okay, back to topic, me.
I'm no particular master in the sound department, but I think nearly everyone agrees that the art department can make wonders for a show and this one in particular it needs to deliver. The way both our protagonists are drawn emphasizes how unlikely would be for them to be together. Anna is a tall girl with an amazing body, long dark hair, gleeful smile and brilliant eyes and to top ot off is a model (because of course she is). On the other hand, Ichikawa is a small, sleep deprived, emo-looking, one-eyed-covered short boy who is obsessed over murder and everything related to it, to the point that he conviced himself about being a murderer and that his heart is twisted. The darkness in solitude that comes in puberty is a defining trait of his character, and the light that someone as Anna, oblivious to whole baggage he's been carrying create this amazing combination about forgetting our own insecurities to the point we can only see the good things that surround us.
The choice of words Ichikawa mades over the course of the show are very easy to sympathize. He is not trying to look cool at all, he is just trying to cope with the feeling that there's someone who's not trying to make fun or ridicule him. Trying to accept that maybe, just maybe, there's a part of him that enjoys being loved and accepted by who he is. That does not mean he stops being a teenager and since we are very, very open now about the fact that teenagers fap (Bisque Doll, Rent a Girlfriend) he does it too, but it does not define him is a character, is just part of him and the show likes to make it clear that it is a natural thing with the obvious sexual tension growing up not only in Ichikawa but on Anna as well.
Overall, I think this is a very good school romance anime with a very fun couple and very honest coping feeling about puberty.

The Eminence in Shadow is supposed to be one of the ultimate satires of a genre plagued with clichés, obvious plot devices, booba and protagonist with black hair and bangs... yet it ends up being one of the most tasteless takes on the anime industry with clickbaited scenes getting viral on platforms such as tiktok and facebook. This series is not for the one who knows his stuff.
You will see a Mixed Feelings recommendation thanks to the system on the page and that is because any casual enjoyer of anime may enjoy watching this anime. I bet you gave it a try after watching
...
the "Atomic" scene, or were baited by the death of our protagonist followed by the credits... and I don't blame you, it starts good. Plants the seed of interest and makes you believe that this will go all the way up from now. Yet there is a problem... I'm not laughing enough.
There is this guy who's own name spells shadow. He is obssesed with dark heroes and power. Mixes his speech with English words to sound cool. Makes an organization filled with girls and only girls. Dresses like one of the most iconic characters in anime of all time. Any avid enjoyer of anime can noticed that this show is about to make fun of the genre in a masterful way: it has everything to succed... so why is it so bland?
No. I've not read the manga, but I can safely pinpoint the glaring problems of the show with the color scheme, the choice of camera angles, the lack of emotion of the voice actors due to a bitter script, the not enough bloody sequences to allow myself to laugh due to exaggeration (and man there's blood on this anime) and the list goes on, and on, and on, and on, and on, just like that tiktok song.
I really wanted to like it, but after watching the scene that made me give it a go, feeling nothing about it and knowing this is an adaptation that will most likely won't cover anymore than a few volumes of a light novel, I think this is a good place to drop the show.

This will not be that much of a review but a honest feeling about this show.
I feared that after a long year of waiting for the correct time to watch the second season of an otherwise entertaining show, I would forget most of the things surrounding it... and sure as hell did. Good thing there are recap shows on the previous half.
I want to give this season a better rating because in many aspects it deserves it: the concept is still original and approachable, the stakes are kinda real with the world evolving on it's own (but knda weird) pace but the animation side and
...
low impact on the most intense parts of the series keep them from it. I found myself waiting for more, expecting an epic conclusion to a bloody conflict since death is looming on this season.
In every story, monsters are the enemy of humankind and in Slime that rule still applies, despite Rimuru's efforts to be a good guy. The expected human behaviour towards monster happens, and is a nice touch of drama in an otherwise light-hearted isekai: it made me care for the conflict at hand. So when the solution was for Rimuru to become a demon lord by commiting full genocide I expected some gory angles, an emotional vengeance, revenge served in the coldest of ways... yet the color palette on the show wont allow for that.
Not only that but with that part being the "peak" of the season, returning to convoluted worldbuilding politics that keep adding more power levels to the show kinda ruined the experience. That being said, props to the sound team. I can't remember an isekai with so many amazing sound effects during battles.
TLDR; The second season of Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken is like its protagonist: a slime full of elements that slightly makes up for a decent story without peaking in any aspect of it.

TL;DR: If you like to make fun of power fantasy/magical school anime. Give it a shot
In order to appreciate good anime, you need to watch bad anime.
The Misfit of Demon King Academy is a show that you learn to enjoy after years and years watching similar shows. The problem is it lacks charm in almost every episode... because it knows it.
The show is self-conscious at all times. It knows the protagonist is broken and the first episode is made in order for you to learn this fact. You are supposed to know every cliché, every trait, every cheap trick, every scam in the book of
...
anime characters to realize that this is just an overly serious parody of the tropes you've seen a million times before up to eleven.
Do you think a bad score it's going to ruin the perception of this anime?
Since I enjoy a bit of table roleplay I find the things that Anos does extremely close to home because it's really common in roleplay to create a character which overcomes any obstacle in it's way with just the tip of the finger. The show KNOWS it's plot is bad and cliche so you focus only on Anos Voldigoad and the amazing ways he bends reality because he can.
The show KNOWS it's going to lose audience after the first three chapters so you see a massive drop in quality by the end of it.

This anime is simply put a fine piece of soul-soothing.
This is no CGDCT and for that I'm honestly thankful, being able to create relatable situations and hilarious jokes and references to otaku culture.
The emphasis it puts on corporal environment, the overall anxiety of fitting in and the enjoyment of our hobbies it's simply amazing and present in every episode so far without outshining the romance of our characters which I absolutely adore.
Every character has their unique traits and the amazing choice of voice actors helps them in that regard giving that punchline neccesary to make the humor of the series get to you.
It's a
...
great anime to watch when you arrive from work so give it try.

Sometimes you got to keep things simple.
Net-juu no Susume is an anime that just hit the spot with relatable situations and characters, even if they are not properly developed at the end of it's run. After all there's not much room for backstory with just 10 episodes.
Characters:
Our two main characters are down-to-earth persons, even if the protagonist is a NEET. Doing this we, as the viewers, relate to all their situations and problems like time consuption of time, work, relationships, etc. After watching the show I realized I didn't need a proper backstory of Morioka, since her actitude speaks for herself: she makes herself
...
less on every kind of situation and since she doesn't want to be a bother she just leaves. It bothered me a little the abandonment of the sub-romance plot between other two party members and the misteryous Nico, but by this point I'm familiar with the "read the source material" genre.
Story:
Light-hearted, simple and effective. It creates for a good romance with cheesy situations and, since our main character is a (fine) 30 year old woman, more mature concerns in what the start of a relationship is.
There's not much to talk about concerning art or sound: it's pretty average.
Overall, Net-juu no Susume is an average show with a good premise that will leave a smile on your face at the end. I highly recommend it after a stressful day at work

There are benefits on watching a show without knowing the source material: you don't create expectation.
I was interested on this anime because the amazing artwork, especially Tsurumaru and Mikazuki. I know nothing of the game, the mechanics, the enemies, or anything else: to me there is only cool looking samurais fighting evil looking enemies (and lots of fujoshi artwork)
Somehow my desire to see a character I personally find amazing, made me break the Three Episode Rule and when he finally appearead I just... continued watching the show with a blank expression on my face.
This anime is a redundant (pretty looking) shallowness.
Also... I know from the
...
first episode that the sole purpose of the touken danshi is to preserve history... but they tell this to the viewer at least 7 times per episode. If you play a drinking game and take a shot everytime you hear a character saying "rekishi o mamoru" you'll be wasted in no time.
Unless you are a fan of the game, skip it

Let's make a compilation of highschool love problems, but instead of using just two characters let's use like twelve
Tsurezure Children is a breath of fresh air in the love comedy genre starting with the lengh of it's 12 episodes, with just about 11 minutes each. This makes for a delightful viewing experience and a genuine surprise element on each episode (even if the outcome is really predictable)
The heart of the show lies in its characters: each relationship is unique and funny in it's own right with lots of relatable situations thanks to the vast cast of personalities involved and the super clever jokes it pulls
In

short.
Tsurezure Children is a short show worthy of your time if you are looking for a funny, light-hearted experience within this heavy season

Either you love it or hate it, Re:Zero is an anime which anyone can enjoy, for all the good and the wrong reasons.
This will be brief so bare with me...
It's not surprise that anime nowadays comes from unfinished works. Such is the case with Re:Zero, a light novel thats just tell us to "go with it" since the explaining of some of it's plot points will ruin the experience (or at least that's what the wikia and fandom says) But for the experienced viewer this is unacceptable, because at the end you'll have so many questions in your head AND YOU KNOW IT'S ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE
...
TO ANSWER THEM WITHOUT READING THE SOURCE MATERIAL BECAUSE YOU WON'T BE GETTING A PROPER SECOND SEASON ANY TIME SOON!!
Such is the way of recent light-novel-based animes... but let's talk about what will make you either finish or drop the anime completely...
Ladies and gentlemen, since the times of Shinji Ikari.. never have i ever seen a protagonist with oh-so-much discussion/hate as Natsuki Subaru.
This guy it's a perfect representation on the average 16 year old person who does nothing but watch anime, play games, and live a boring life and then believes his life is destined to be perfect since he is in another world, but then reality hits... and it hits hard. The problem is despite given all these opportunities in the story he doesn't evolve, he doesn't learn, he can't even make me love to hate him. But at the end of the day he IS the protagonist so the the story cut him A LOT of slack by twisting the strings in his favor so much that every "arc" of the anime gets really predictable. AND, since the story revolves around him if HE DOESN´T KNOW A THING OF THE WORLD, WE NEITHER.... AND THAT'S THE WORSE OFENSE
He is the reason why many people hate the show, but unfortunately it has other flaws.
-Leaving lots of questions unanswered
-No solid background for the world he is in
-Secondary characters be secondary characters with again, not enough development
-So much money wasted on the "gore" aspect of the show
And you may ask... why would some people like this show?
Even with it's flaws it is an enjoyable experience. It is a good gateway anime for people who doesn't want to learn a lot about the story or even care enough for the people in this fantastic world. They just want to know how will Subaru get out of the next loop... and nothing more. No matter how farfetched the methods.
Watch it... and feel this weird sensation in your inside as you finish the show
