In an interview with The Anime Man, Rui Tsukiyo, the creator of Redo Of Healer, announced that another work of his would get an anime adaptation later that year. It would be an adaptation of what he considers his best work: World's Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated In Another World As An Aristocrat. Now I have Completed it, Do I think it's better than Redo Of Healer? Yes, it is. Time for me to share my thoughts.
Story: 8
What I appreciate about Rui Tsukiyo is that this man can make you think about what other anime have done wrong, that nobody really seems to consider, and such
...
is the case in this anime, where a goddess now has chosen someone to reincarnate in an isekai world not because he is an otaku protagonist, but actually for his skills that are necessary, and to also give him a family that will actively support him reaching his end goal. Normally, this would feel pretty generic, but in this case, it totally makes sense to do so. Chekov's Gun is also definetly not a stranger in this anime, even when you least expect it, something I can only appreciate.
If there is one problem I have here is that for some plot elements, you might want to rely on some suspension of disbelief, as some of the things might require a good Google search session to double check, but that means Rui Tsukiyo actively did research.
Art: 6
Bad CGI horsecarriages and knights aside, this show doesn't really have anything noteworthy in regards to animation. Character designs and backgrounds look solid and fights look good.
Sound: 7
Again, nothing to necessarily complain about the sound design. The sound effects were solid and there was a good musical score.
Character: 7
Before anyone calls Lugh a Mary Sue/Gary Stu, keep in mind that he is the world's finest assassin, so at least his skills are excusable, unlike with other Mary Sue characters, who can do anything without a proper explanation. I also liked how Lugh was established in his previous life, making you believe he is such an amazing assassin, and his memories and experience are maintained in his new life. I do get why some people would think Lugh is, as he hardly has any struggles in his fights, but again, he is an amazing assassin so it's at least justifyable. Other characters also have clear personalities and/goals and are solid.
Enjoyment: 9
This show is definetly a fun watch. I really enjoy stories that make you think and that really is what this show does.
Overall: 8
Rui Tsukiyo really has proven himself as a writer. The animation may have its flaws, but the story makes up for it. it's not flawless, but at least justifyable.

When the trailer for Yasuke dropped on Netflix, I thought to myself: nice. An anime about the black samurai himself. I was truly interested in this anime. Unfortunately, Yasuke did not live up to my expectations.
Story: 1
If you're going to make an anime about historical figures, you would expect it to be true to history. These people walked around in real world Japan and you would expect to respect that. Yasuke's backstory was pretty true to life, but in the story itself, somebody had the bright idea to add magic and giant robots in the anime. What was their deal? What were they doing
...
in the story? What are giant robots doing in feudal Japan? The only thing we get is an explaination that doesn't sole anything, but instead causes plot holes that could have easily been prevented with a single Google search. The magic system is just a plot device to give the scriptwriters a lame excuse for the several asspulls thrown in this show. I will admit the magic was used in interesting ways, but it never paid off, just to give the audience one of the most Mary Sue endings I've ever seen in anime. The pacing is way too high for it's own good, to the point that even a lot of plot points make no sense, resulting in an incohesive rushed mess of a story.
Art: 8
Not the best MAPPA has given us so far, but it definitely wasn't bad. The fights themselves were a treat to the eyes and the character designs were nice and did their job. But again, Don't expect godly animation like you see in The God Of High School or Jujutsu Kaisen.
Sound: 6
When watching a historical/samurai story, what type of music would you probably hear, classical Japanese instruments, right? In Yasuke, they decided to give us electronic music. Not what I would've liked, but it was decent. The sound effects also did their job pretty well.
Character: 1
The character writing suffered from strong Mary Sue writing as well. One of the characters, Saki, basically has the entire cast and worldbuilding bend around her, even Yasuke himself. I won't spoil anything, but she starts out weak, but doesn't need training to control her magic, she is in the end always right and everyone on the good side loves her. The story completely revolves around her and there is barely any room for character development outside of Yasuke's redemption. Other characters are also one note and inconsistent, but that is also the bad pacing being bad pacing.
Enjoyment: 4
I tried to like this show. But in the end, I couldn't get over how it ended. There were so many asspulls.
Overall: 1
Yasuke proves several things when it comes to anime:
1. Animation and sound design can't carry a show;
2. You can't use magic and giant robots and expect it to magically work;
3. Historical accuracy is still important;
4. You can't write a multi-arc story in just 6 episodes.

When it comes to Redo of Healer, there are predominantly 2 sides in the anime community. One saying it's the best anime of 2021, others say it's one of the worst. How do I stand in this? Is it a masterpiece? Is it awful? No. Time for a full honest review.
Story: 7
The things that stand out most about Redo of Healer are how edgy it is and the fact that it's basically a hentai. The story revolves around Keyaru getting revenge on his former allies, who abused him when they got power over him. This greatly forms the central themes of the story being revenge
...
and corruption by power, which we only have seen so far in Shield Hero, but not this deeply and edgy.
My only real problems with the story is that healing makes no sense, Keyaru basically being Crazy Diamond Requiem (yes, that's a JoJo's reference) and outside of the themes it explores and the edginess, it's a pretty generic power fantasy. I do like how it's connected to the themes though. Another problem is that the show tends to go overboard pretty easily.
Characters: 4
Most of the characters are pretty one-dimensional and some exist just to add another hentai tag. Only Keyaru and Setsuna being thematically strong along with the villains. They embody the theme of revenge after losing everything thanks to a corrupt system and the villains being very corrupt. Everyone else in the harem is brainwashed or manipulated by Keyaru into joining him.
Art: 10
TNK is best known for bringing the ecchi classic High School DxD to life and that is reflected in Redo of Healer, if you watch the uncensored version of course. If you go watch the censored version, you simply get a still of some surroundings when it gets too lewd.
Sound: 7
Soundtrack is pretty solid; voice actors do a nice job bringing the characters to life, it's not really anything outstanding, but it does a fine job.
Enjoyment: 7
If you are an adult who can take a lot of edge, you can definitely watch this show. If any of the two doesn't apply to you, don't watch it.
Overall: 7
The story is solid enough to not be a complete dumpster fire, but the characters are pretty weak. The animation and sound design however do a solid enough job.

*THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS!*
I tried to see why people like this show. I really did. The only thing I could see was the animation carrying the entire show. The storytelling is poor, the bad written characters far outweigh the good ones and the comedy is bad.
I have several issues with how the storytelling is presented to us. The animation really has make the impact of the events that are happening. We were given nothing outside of 'the Kamado family was a happy family' before they were murdered by demons. It was here again the animation that carried the emotional impact of the death of everyone
...
outside of Tanjiro and Nezuko. The reason it worked with shows like Violet Evergarden and Attack on Titan, which also had important characters killed and also have very good animation, was that those anime spent a decent amount of time to characterize those characters and give the audience a chance to bond with them. There was no animation involved in either of those shows.
We all know how well animated the climax of episode 19 was, right? This new breathing technique was achieved because Tanjiro was searching through his memories of his family. Didn't even further characterize his family, just for the breathing. Did he get any lessons on how to do the new breathing technique? Nope, he apparently can just do it, no questions asked. But even if we ignore that, his new breathing technique didn't even pay off. The entire fight against Rui wasn't just about Tanjiro having to beat a lower 5 demon moon, one of the most powerful demons in existence, but it was also an ideological battle about the meaning of family. Really deep, right? Makes the climax of episode 19 even more satisfying, right? PLOT TWIST: Tanjiro never killed Rui, he just decapitated himself and now Tanjiro had to be saved by Giyu, who kills Rui himself. It looked really nice too, but it would have been more satisfying if Tanjiro defeated Rui himself. I get that this fight also represents the steaks for future fights against demon moons, but if that justifies those storytelling flaws, that's going to be a problem.
Then there are the characters, which are most of the time just badly written. Sure, Tanjiro is not your typical dense shonen MC amd has actual depth to him, desiring to give the demons a peaceful end as he knows they were originally human. The other characters however, don't get that treatment. Several of them are even written so they can't get interesting character arcs. Prime examples being Nezuko and Zenitsu.
Nezuko is turned into a bloodthirsty demon and to keep her alive, Tanjiro needs to prove she means no harm to humans. How do they handle this? Do they give her a side story during the first training arc in which she has to actively overcome her demon desires? Nope, Urokodaki just hypnotizes her into believing himans are good, demons are bad. It would definitely be more interesting to see her constantly have to fight this desire to eat humans, even when confronted against the Hashira. But with the hypnosis, they just remove the need for her character arc to be any interesting.
Zenitsu is written to be your box standard simp and a complete coward towards demons. How does the writing handle this? Does Zenitsu get forced to overcome his fear of demons? Does he lose his status as a Demon Slayer, causing him to question himself and eventually find new ways to be useful, despite of his fear against demons? Nope, he gets plot armored by a sleeping ninja that's apparently so overpowered, even a powerful spider demon and his loads of minions don't stand a chance against him. If you ask me, having to overcome your dependency on a sleeping ninja sounds a lot less interesting than overcoming your fear of demons.
The comedy in Demon Slayer also falls flat and is really based on either the visuals getting cartoony, or Inosuke being the uncultured swine he is. I really can't think of anything else that can even remotely considered to be funny.
Overall, Demon Slayer looks pretty good, but it's really the animation that carries the show.

I was honestly pretty hyped about Japan Sinks: 2020. The trailer on Netflix looked like this would be an exciting thrillride with high steaks and lots of hardships. I ended up pretty disappointed. As this show became a bad roller coaster of killing off characters, unrealistic behaviour, annoying characters and weird loopholes.
My biggest problem is how this show kills off characters. Every time someone tries to be meaningful for once, they are rewarded with a horrible death. Trying to get food? Die in an explosion. Want to save the main group from a sinking ship? Die of disease. This is literally a pattern that continues
...
throughout this show. There is also this big cult arc, which just exists to introduce more characters to kill off. I get they are taking a realistic approach in writing, but when that justifies killing off characters for no good reason, that's going to be a problem.
Speaking of realism: here's a question: you're running from the water and you try to get food, but in the process one of your family members dies a horrible death. How would you react? If it comes to Japan Sinks: 2020, that's simple: just continue like nothing happened. No mourning or anything, just go along minding your own business. This is also a thing that keeps happening and makes the characters feel a lot less believable.
I also have a problem with some of the characters in this show. Specifically Gou. He is a gamer and reverse weeaboo. He also throws a lot of English words in his language. In JoJo's, it's mostly for comedic purposes. But with the way Gou uses his English, it comes off as kind of annoying. His reverse weeaboo aspects are also really prominent, but it only comes up in a rap battle.
There were also other things I found rather questionable. I could not really get behind how Japan would sink first of all. This show tried so hard to be realistic but then the way Japan would sink is completely unrealistic. I also had questions about the cult arc like: if the earthquake affected everything from Okinawa to Hokkaido, why is the location of the cult completely untouched?
Overall this is a really cranky story with rather poor writing.

*THIS REVIEW IS 100% SPOILER FREE*
There are a lot of anime that have either amazing animation and terrible writing, or amazing writing but it looks horrible.
Violet Evergarden is neither of those. Both the animation and writing are amazing and it really shows.
Kyoto animation has really outdone itself with the animation. If you think Demon Slayer episode 19 looked amazing, Violet Evergarden is that moment of beautiful animation throughout the entire show. It's amazing.
The storytelling in Violet Evergarden is incredible. The anime's episodic structure really allows you to explore new parts of the vast worldbuilding that's in store for the viewer. This also makes for
...
a lot of compelling characters who all get a great arc while also directly or indirectly helping Violet in her character arc, which has a big impact on her and pays off beautifully. The way the characters get characterized allows you to get a real connection with every character, even though you'll see them only one episode, but they have an impact on Violet for the rest of the show. This is a lot of potential that many other anime with a similar structure drop, which Violet Evergarden uses to its fullest. I'm not surprised that the light novel this anime is based on won the first grand prize of the Kyoto Animation Awards back in 2015.
The sound design is also really well done. It greatly adds to the experience you have and helps adding emotions to every scene.
Overall, wether you watch for animation, if you prefer to watch for a good story, or watch anime for both, Violet Evergarden is a masterpiece that you should watch.
