Exciting, fun, realistic and educational. Ao Ashi has all the elements that I'm looking for in a sports anime. As expected from Production IG, they animated another good sports series where they represent a certain sport (football in ao ashi) seriously and in a very cool way.
Story 10/10: Just watching the first episode, I can immediately tell that this anime has a great plot/storyline. We follow Ashito's journey as a youth football player in Esperion, a youth team, as he grows and develop his skills in order to become a professional football player. But the story provides us more than just following Ashito's journey: every

episodes, we basically learning an overall idea about the sport football, how football is in Japan and how great this sport is. Football details and tactics is overflowing, professional football players are getting mentioned, very good dialogues and relatable story. I'm hooked. The story definitely takes it's time to progress, which I know people with no patience hate the most, but it's honestly a big plus to me because I hate undeveloped and rushed stories, specially when were talking about sports anime. Ao Ashi is developing slowly but surely, and in a very satisfying way.
Characters 10/10. Ao Ashi characters are so diverse and well-written. Each of them have different personalities, nationalities, ethnicity, and color. I love it. I love how the characters are lovable in their own way and I'm looking forward to seeing each of them every week. Now, maybe a lot of people hate Ashito, our mc, for being so loud and idiotic like. But it's funny to me how he, himself, admits that he's an idiot. One thing I like about Ashito is straightforward nature and transparency. He's so expressive, he says what he wants, he do what he wants, you can tell what he's feeling by just looking at his face. But then, another great personality of Ashito is that, despite being prideful, he's willing to learn. His willingness to learn and to change is just admirable. You tell him he has mistakes, he will find that mistake, confront and ask everyone about it, then he will show a character development in a very unexpected way. He's full of surprises.
Art (9/10): The art style might be what turns you away, but I find it refreshing and unique. It may be hard for you to start because you're used to pretty characters, but I can assure you that you will love the art eventually and realize that ao ashi characters are pretty good looking too specially when you get to know them. Ao Ashi's art is not overwhelmingly good nor edgy, it's graphics and animation is not out-of-this-world amazing, but it's good enough to keep you continue the show and still enjoy. Anime can't adapt exactly what's in the manga, that's true, but Ao Ashi made a decent and solid adaptation for the first season. Though I'm hoping for animation improvement in season 2.
Sounds & Music (10/10):
Opening and ending theme songs in Ao ashi is really something to be praised. They are very good and addicting you should listen to them. OST's are good too. I wouldn't call them the best, but it has character in it. OST's fit into their respective scenes, some of them even have the power to move you to feel energized or sad or even shocked. As mentioned above the music combined with the scene in the game really has an impact.
Enjoyment 10/10: I enjoy it a lot. I even googled football terms and tactics that are getting used and showed in the anime. I also googled all the real life football players that are getting mentioned. For me, a series that can pique my interest and attention, and can make me love the sport that it represents, that's more than enough to give it a high score.
Overall 10/10: I highly recommend this anime to all sports anime fans. Come and watch it too☺️❤️
