Are you looking for another anime with action/comedy/school series? Both series is similar, because of the sci-fi/fantasy theme and the sword-combat action scenes. The male MC in both series has very similar personality, because they are both strong but hides their strength. They are atypical MC because they are not so dense as the ones you see in typical school/harem series. Both series takes place on a school where students is training to do sword combat and to fight for something. So if you are looking for another funny, OP/strong MC with action/school/sci-fi/swordfight anime, then here it is.

Similarities: - Both series takes place in Tokyo - Realistic environment - Involves a girl, who wishes that everyone dissapear - Psychological setting - A little bit of school theme element - Gloomy story telling - Both series are unique and counted as a "disaster genre" due to the building destructions, ruins and people panicking Differences: - Both series has different story and character approach: ZnT --> Main charachters are the antagonists TM 8.0 --> Main charachter is the protagonist - ZnT is purposely destruction of Tokyo - TM 8.0 is catastrophic destruction of Tokyo Rec: Both series reminds of each other due to the realistic environment and the "disaster-feeling", which you get from watching movies etc. that are closely related to real-life. In other words, you can relate the incidents and perhaps imagine if it were to happen in reality. They are both very unique series and gives you a completely different level of anime. Therefore I recommend these series, if you would like to watch a different and new category of anime.

Both series takes place in a medieval world with action/fantasy/advendture as themes. Although, Akame ga Kill has more of a serious story approach with a slight of comedy. The art resembles each other and they are both relatively new-released anime series. Both male MC starts of weak, but gets stronger the more they fight and experience. Akame ga Kill is a must-watch if you are to medieval genre and want lesser fanservice. Besides there's more action scenes in Akame. Dungeon (...) is more comedy/romance oriented, but also has fighting scenes.
