Tokyo Ghoul (and RE) does not have an anime adaptation.
This is all you need to know basically. I watched this after having read RE (which doesn't have the easiest story to follow) and was still getting confused but the insane pacing or outright chapter skips this """adaptation""" has.
If you thought the first 2 tokyo ghoul adaptations were bad then boy you're gonna have a bad experience with this one...
Lets see:
The story's interweaved subplots, ruined because pacing, check.
Any form of character development expected from a seinen, reduced to shonen tier, check.
Animation as basic as it gets, check.
Just read the manga, please...

Let's get the obvious out of the way, it's fun.
The characters are likeable, there's plenty of action and the animation is top notch.
But it kept bothering me that I was trying to make sense of what was happening story wise or why it was happening. The rapid pacing and fast tone shifts (not to mention the randomly placed flashbacks) left lots to be desired as far as actual storytelling goes to the point where i was 5 episodes from the end and I was wondering if they were gonna explain what is even happening.
But then it clicked to me. This isn't marketed to
...
a more grown up audience but younger ages.
So if you are below 16 or want to watch something that makes little sense but it's fun then go for it, but if you feel like you want something with a more concrete and serious story, then i'd recommend you go with something else.

I get the final arc. I get it that Ryo has to die with all the bad karma coming back at him the moment that he's about to change his life for the better. But did it really have to be on the hands of those 2 assclowns? After all those previous arcs of him beating the shit out of the best masters of their respective martial art? And what about his reunion/""promise"" with Sugawara? Did the writer just forget that or was he forced to?
If not for those things, the ending would be perfect.
Other than that, solid martial arts manga where the protagonist is
...
essentially the bad guy. Though i agree with some other reviews that some arcs feel unresolved.
First 1/3 of the manga is 10/10, the rest is meh but still enjoyable.

Despite it's flaws, Tegamibachi's positives are more than enough for me to recommend it to someone.
Lets begin with what tegamibachi does well:
-The main cast is interesting and the character development and interactions are really good. Each character has a relatively fleshed out backstory that drives them forward. Gauche's issue is handled very well and really drives forward that the heart is what matters most in this story. There are a lot of tearjerker moments and a lot of heartwarming ones even revolving around characters you'll see only once.
People have complained a lot that Lag is a crybaby but you need to keep in mind
...
that he's a very compassionate 12yo kid on his journey to self discovery. Niche is ok-ish and gladly the author realized quickly enough that the underpants gag grew tiresome.
-The world and world building are equally very good. Lag's and co travels around the world have this adventuring air around it that makes you somewhat excited about what are they gonna discover next. Amberground is a land filled with mysteries which keep you wanting to keep reading in hope that your questions are gonna be answered.
-Tying everything together is a very clean art which makes clever use of lighting to drive forward that this land is almost devoid of light and life. The characters are also really well drawn out and this manga has some of the most expressive eye drawings i've seen.
Now lets move on to the main issue that is the last 30-40 chapters of the story.
Tegamibachi's peak as others mentioned is around the midpoint when the gang has to battle a really strong foe endangering the entire world. At the same point, some mysteries about the world are solved with even newer ones, bigger ones presented. At this point you feel that the story has enough momentum to start solving the loose plot points and reach a satisfying conclusion, but this is where the author dropped the ball hard.
Instead of moving the story forward, he introduces some new characters presents them as an antagonising Plan-B and proceeds to a very rushed ending that leaves open ALOT of questions and plot-points either about characters either about the world itself. To give you some context, the strong foe i mentioned above is a struggle that lasts more than 15 chapters whereas the "final boss" takes place in 6.
I can only attribute this rushed ending in editorial pressure but still for a manga that has had such a good way of handling mystery, it feels very awkward to the point where you wish there was an extra 2 chapters to tell you what the hell happened afterwards.
Keep in mind that the ending itself (ie what happened to the main cast) is very good and if you take into account the entire manga's characterisation, rather moving. But those 30 or so chapters leading to that ending were spent badly on unnecessary stuff.
To conclude, tegamibachi has some very good messages and heartwarming moments, has some good mystery that will grind your gears a bit, but drops the ball near the end. Still for all those good moments i'd say you should give it a chance.

Tengoku Daimakyou's story layering is very underrated. They throw clues at you at early chapters which naturally you'd ignore, only to go back to these early chapters after you read a bit further and realise what they were implying back then. The re-readability of this manga is insane.
The mystery aspect and the characterization is fantastic, however it doesn't just spoon-feed you the plot, you need to as i said before, use your head a bit.
I really enjoy both the world and the dynamic between the main 2 protagonists, getting very big Akira(manga) vibes.
The art is very nice, the backgrounds and the worlds especially are
...
very well drawn and really drive into you the "dystopian/overgrown/abandoned" civilisation aspect.
Definitely recommended!

I'm gonna focus on Jigokuraku as an adaptation mainly considering the part of the story it covers is very early manga-wise. I reviewed this while it was airing while on episode 4 but i feel i need to re-write this.
The first few episodes actually got me really interested on how the story will pan out, because they seemed rather slow, but after reading the manga, I'm really glad the anime kept it that way with the necessary worldbuilding, character building.
Jigokuraku will put on the forefront people's emotions and backstories and use them as the pillar of the story's and character's progression.
The problem is that
...
Jigokuraku is clearly the anime mappa decided to cut corners in order to make their outrageous schedule and it clearly shows. Up until episode 3-4 the quality is consistently good but after that everything takes a very big drop in quality and this isn't just about the animation. There are fundamental flaws in how the episodes are cut and directed which makes a lot of sequences feel jarring and very awkwardly cut.
Between sudden dialogue cuts and weird scene changes to inconsistent animation this makes it rather hard to appreciate the story and worldbuilding which undoubtedly is very important for the later parts of the story (yet to come). In short this isn't something you can expect to be fixed in blurays. The direction/storyboarding itself mainly takes whatever the manga did and either applies it directly or tries to compress it even more to manage and fit as much story as possible into this adaptation. This might have worked if the series were a lot more battle focused, but here where a lot of exposition is offered and the manga itself relies heavily on monologues, it just doesn't work.
Audio wise it's the quality you'd expect from a 2023 anime, the soundtrack is pretty good and the sound design what you'd expect.
Overall i'd say people should give it a go, but a more honest recommendation would be to go read the manga because the story is really good, unless they manage to somehow fix this mess in the blu-rays.
