Have you played online games where the social component is important? And did you have the feeling that you will live your life in this game, find your love, ignoring the conventions of the game? If yes, then .hack//Sign will seem very close and familiar to you.
This is the story of people who want to believe that the game is more than just a game. And literally, story lives on this faith. The characters here are not just invented images. First of all, these are people who control their avatars. At any moment they can leave the game, and for them it will cease
...
to matter. And their actions should be regarded from the position that they are trying to abstract from reality, but not get out of it. They don't feel the pain, or the warmth of their close player - but they want to believe it.
However, the composition of this anime is more complex than I described above. After all, there is the main character of this anime - Tsukasa.
Tsukasa doesn't know how he got into this world of the game. The mystery of its origin will hold until the very end. Unlike the players, he feels pain and warmth. However, this feature makes him the loneliest person in this world of illusions. The closest thing that can be cited as an example is LIMBO. And throughout history, he will face a choice - to close himself off from everyone remaining in the twilight world, or to try to return to reality?
Perhaps the period of indeterminacy in the characters is the most boring, but at the same time the most interesting moment of the narrative. After all, as they move forward, their worldview will change.
It is because of the process of character development in such an unusual composition that I think this anime is a damn masterpiece. Perhaps not one anime of this genre has not revealed this so plausibly, at the same time presenting itself as a techno-fantasy fairy tale. And if the director was faced with the task of revealing the social element of online games, then he coped with his task COMPLETELY.
This is one of the most underrated anime I've ever watched. But there is a reason for this - it is very boring. Seriously, in some episodes nothing happens except the characters' dialogues (sometimes with themselves), but at the same time it is... Quite naturally. After all, this story is not meant to entertain you. This story happens naturally. For example, "mushishi" a boring narrative did not prevent you from getting audience love, which suggests that sometimes you can get pleasure from watching only when you overpower yourself. Try to think about what this anime is trying to convey to you.
And then, perhaps, you will come out on your own special wave, "connection" with this story. Yes, even in anime there is catharsis!
But in the end I want to say that you should not be afraid of this catharsis. Entering this twilight, you will probably get the most unusual experience that you have ever received.

This anime is often compared to "slayers", and for good reason - it belongs to the "based fantasy" genre. In other words, generic. And this means that here we will meet goblins, adventurers, medieval cities, magic and other indecency. And with the "slayers" he is related by similar characters and humor.
Many will think that this is a cheap copy and they will be partially right. But when viewing, I felt that the author still wanted to make it better. Using a single template, he added / changed those elements that he considered missing. I think you often had the feeling that you want to change
...
something in the work so that you like it. And "Mahou Senshi Louie" is probably such an example.
One of the interesting elements is the approach to the development of the main characters (this applies mainly to the main character - Louis.) - they are more good not in character, but in their "image", since it is built from many remarkable components. Simply put - the characters have a "background" - their past, a place in this world. Their elaboration goes beyond the archetypes, and personally I'm glad about it.
But perhaps the most important advantage of this anime will be its humor and a fair amount of parody. I actually smiled quite often, and even laughed while watching. From this follows the main advantage for the target viewer - it is easy to watch, regardless of your condition.
It's time to talk about a couple of shortcomings - firstly, this is too straightforward behavior of the main characters, in particular the same female trio from the cover - every time Louis does something wrong (and he does it all the time), they call him names and blame for everything, and in general their attitude towards him is negative. Moreover, they constantly repeat the same thing, which is already very annoying for the third time. Apparently the author wanted to create the impression of an anti-harem, but obviously overdid it.
And the second drawback is the ill-fated grotesqueness. I know it's VERY weird to blame comedy for this. But the fact is that the series does not balance well between seriousness and complete absurdity. Because of this, you have to make some efforts to continue to believe in what is happening on the screen. 50% of jokes come down to how stupid the main character is
To sum it up: "Mahou Senshi Louie" is a fun and easy to watch comedy with interesting characters. But due to excessive absurdity, it loses its integrity. But nevertheless, it has its own charm and atmosphere based fantasy, which is not boring to watch.

The shield hero is a postirony. You can't call it bad, because in fact it is supposed to be bad, and it does its job, therefore, because of its purpose, it is good.
The fact is that the main character ends up in a very bad fanfiction book created to pump money. The hero himself says about this that this book is a passerby. You have no right to call this anime bad, because the anime itself says so.
Naofumi is a simple anime guy, he's not smart, he's not stupid. However, in the anime, he seems to be the smartest person in the world, as the
...
antagonists here are the dumbest people in the universe, with teenager-level thinking.
For some reason, in the world in which the hero fell, there are RPG mechanics, as in an MMORPG. This is strange, because the hero ended up in a book, and not in a game, but it's better not to look for logic in this anime. What is the value of Raphtalia's breasts changing their size, for no apparent reason.
I'm sorry. It's a pity.
I love the literary device where a character with a normal reputation accidentally loses it and has to restore it. However, the implementation of this in the anime is very poor.
It would have been much better if there had been an emphasis on Naofumi and Raphtalia's local adventures while revealing the world. Instead, the anime has a lot of bloody pathos for the sake of pathos, stupid antagonists who rule the world, and in general it's some kind of circus. Isekai stories have potential, but they do not use it, as it is not profitable.
This anime is very overrated, but on the other hand, it can entertain for 1 time. I don't know what happens in the continuation of the story, but there are rumors that everything is still 10 times worse.
However, thanks for your attention! I wish you enjoy anime.

Chobits is a rather controversial anime. He is criticized for flat characters, boring drama, and being too long. However, that doesn't make it a bad anime. In a sense, it is an antidepressant: everything seemed naive and funny, and in the process of watching my state of mind became better. I am a dreamer and this anime is my dream. Yes, he is imperfect and naive, but at the same time close in the soul, dear and pleasant.
Hideki is the main character of this story. He came to the city from a small village where his best friends were cattle and a pile of dung.
...
It's pretty simple and straight forward and doesn't really make it flat. On the contrary, his fasting makes him like us, and if you were from the village, you would behave in a similar way.
Actions take place in Japan of the near future, when robots appeared everywhere exactly like people - persocoms (why only girls, but let's take it for granted). Hideki is a poor student, so he cannot afford to buy them. But one fine evening, he finds a beautiful broken persocom in the garbage heap! and the gist of the breakdown is that she can't load it onto her disk, so Hideki has to teach her from scratch, which is really cute and funny.
There are different characters in the anime, and each with their own story, which develops in the process of the anime.
The picture is simple, but very good for 2002. It's nice to look at her overall.
The soundtrack is pleasant and not annoying, sets the right tone for the moments.
I won't recommend this anime to everyone, it's up to you to decide. It is made for dreamers like me, and maybe like you. The story held me from beginning to end, and I actually decided for myself what the end meant to me.
Chobits - anime on the dreamer.
