[Early Review 4 ep- Minor Spoilers]
You doesn't know anything about Tower of God? Is hyped AF? Is overrated? Are asking yourself if this series is the masterpiece that it will open a new era for the anime industry? i don't know... But you should give it a chance.
Tower of God is a Isekai anime based in a Korean web-toon. Baam awake inside of a tower where is supposed that will give a wish for everyone that reach the top and the only way to ascend is surpassing levels with different challenges that will take the participants to the physical and psychological limit.
(SAO but is actually
...
good)
I was pretty skeptical at the first time, I don't trust in hyped series, or fandoms even if they are from series that I love but this time I has to admit that this series is pretty cool, so I decided to read the web-toon because some people where crying because the studio was rushed up the story. And it's rushed? Yes, but isn't the horrendous crime that some people was pretending. For example in the first 2 episodes i was hating Baam a lot because he doesn't seemed to show any type of personality, but in the web-toon his character in the same scenes feels way more natural and you can empathize with him because the dialogue is better than the one in anime, at the end it doesn't matter how faithful the series is to the web-toon because only has some changes in argumental explanation and some characters seems to have changes in their personalities, but the series doesn't had plot holes, and every rushed material could be solved in the future. Is obvious that this series isn't only about epic fights, is about personal growing and philosophy.
Usually i can't take seriously Isekais but Tower of God does something that other isekais fail to do, something so simple as build the concepts, the verisimilitude of the argument, the concepts on which the construction of the world is based, these are major words for most of the isekais but not for Tower of God. even if the anime rushed his explanation and cut some content from the web-comic
Despite it has some flaws in the animation from the two first episodes the series manage to do other things pretty good...
1- Art & Colour design. this two things are way better than the exposed in the web-toon, the backgrounds, the character design, the illumination, all looks gorgeous.
2- Music, Awesome, if you has ears you know what I'm talking about, incredibly catching and fits perfectly with the atmosphere in every situation... The OP and ED are amazing give me goosebumps every time that i hear them.
3- the direction in some scenes is pretty good, maybe the series fails in introduce some content but in some certain moments is more visually more attractive than the web-toon.
There's only one thing that i hate is that cheap korean humor, sorry, but it feels so cringe sometimes and broke the atmosphere... Korean humor is pretty childish as you can see in movies, series, k-pop idols

I was searching something to watch in Netflix and casually I find the anime that was supposed to mark history, the first 4k HDR anime hand-drawn.
Months ago i heard about this project and i was pretty curious and confused at the same time because the lack of information, no release date, no trailers... And now i know why. this "Short Movie" barely is longer than a trailer, 4 minutes, well 3 minutes actually (one is for the credits)
Idk, maybe is because i don't have a 4K Smart Tv to enjoy it properly, but i was waiting something more impressive, yeah it's cool as
...
a desktop live wallpaper... Don't get me wrong, its not like i was aganist technological advancement in anime industry... only it was a bit disappointing for 'the first Hand-Drawn 4K blah blah anime'. traditional animation looks way more impressive than this... Sol Levante doesn't has a chance against a great scene from Mob Psycho and Promare.
i don't think that i missed something for not having a 4K Smart Tv.

[Spoilers]
Sometimes I wonder what the hell am I doing with my life, how much can I fall into the abyss, how many brain cells can I kill in four hours...
Eromanga-Sensei is a romantic comedy (or at least it is said to be) of a boy and his hikikomori little sister unrelated to blood. The MC (I forgot his name and I'm not going to try to remember it) is a mediocre writer of light novels for teenagers who has to support himself and his little sister because for some reason their parents are not home (I don't know if they are dead because the series
...
never says anything) the MC discovers in a transmission that his illustrator who draws erotic material for his novels is actually his sister... You may think "great! A heartwarming story about two brothers working together to overcome their problems and find love" .... hahaha No. This is a story of two non-blood related siblings in a dysfunctional relationship, an insolated autistic pervert loli and their pedophile-prone older SIMP brother ... to be honest it's not like I have a problem with this because I'm despicable garbage but I can't take it. This series makes absolutely no sense, the first episode is exactly like the final episode, there is no such thing as a story just characters that appears out of nowhere and disappears meaningless, it's like the guy who wrote this has absolutely no idea of how to write a character, worst of all, it's supposed to be a harem anime, how the hell do you write a harem story if everyone knows the MC will be with the main girl from the beginning, what's the point of the harem? See those girls being friendzoned in the most predictable way possible in the moment they declare their love? And continue as if nothing had happened? This is not an ecchi anime, it's a dense circus that pretends to be ecchi, but it's just the wet dream of a mediocre writer with a little sister fetish.
This is a waste of time, the only way to enjoy this is if you are a moeshitter or a person with brain damage.

2020's Winter Season was in my opinion an absolutely craziness in terms of originality and concepts in anime, visually we got animes with impressive art styles and some great stories like Pet, Hanako-Kun, Eizouken, Somali and even Ishuzoku Reviewers, but between all of them one deserves the recognition as the craziest, wacky, charming, creative and funny animation in this season, Dorohedoro.
The most distinctly aspect of Dorohedoro is his art, is the first thing that you easily can recognize about this series are those beautiful steampunk backgrounds designs along with the color design are a eye candy for the spectator, the art direction in this series
...
is outstanding.
In terms of animation I can say that for a 3D anime it's pretty cool, yeah sometimes looks cheap but works well in general, even more if you think that they aren't putting effort in animation, they put that effort in the art design... And more, is not like they are using 3D the whole time anyway.
In terms of story there's no doubt that is a hell of originality, from the storytelling to characters and everything in the middle is genius. I can say that this series is something made with love and dedication.
Ain't gonna lie this isn't a good review because I'm praising it... But I love it.
This is exactly why I love anime, anime isn't trash, maybe you are maybe so i am, but anime is art.

How i can describe this anime without spoil it was a question that i was making me but i think this is like a distant dream that you don't remember the details...
This isn't a series for everyone, isn't a battle shonen anime. If you are expecting some crazy fights with grunts and screaming all the time maybe you don't like this, and some times the series takes a good time to explain some concepts, this anime is about philosophy.
Despite at it looks like an edgy nihilist anime, this show is exactly the opposite of that, i found it really inspiratory and positive
...
even if his atmosphere is incredible dark and the background argument tells you a dystopic reality whit the typical Cyberpunk elements the main focus is enough optimistic to give you some contrast in the storytelling and the world building, in simple words this isn't a black & white story that wants the dualism for main focus, there's no bad or good guys in this world.
Ergo Proxy it's a philosophical trip about the human nature, love and existentialism combined with big religious elements and that's exactly why i love this anime, yeah ain't gonna lie, it has his flaws in his narrative in the middle part but the way that it ends is some of the greatest I've seen, the last episodes are a explosion of feelings, questions and answers that makes you confused sometimes but amazed at the same time.
"we are the suffering of the creator" "every creator can't not love his creations"... The religious implications are pretty important at the end and it's applied like a analogy about the concept 'The love and hate of God' in the Jewish/Islamic/Catholic perspective about what is God and if his love is unconditional all of this was really well executed.
"first I think, then exist"
The main focus in this series is existentialism, the meaning of life and the true about our soul, every main character has his own struggle with his existence that makes them so attractive because every single of them has different conclusions about his nature.
Ergo Proxy isn't an anime, it's a experience... A masterpiece of the Cyberpunk subgenre, and maybe isn't for everyone, but you need to give it a chance.
I could explain the technical aspect but it doesn't matter because is outstanding in technical aspects (animation, music, art, characters design, direction). it even doesn't look like an 2006's anime.

(MAY CONTENT MINOR SPOILERS)
This series isn't a bad adaptation at all but the last episode (20) was
pretty disappointing, this anime actually should have ended 1 month ago but they have two breaks in the production, and for what? For this? Come on! The only attractive that Fate GO has is Historical Waifus dressing like strippers and the Noble Phantasms from the servants, but Babylonia arc it's different because it tries to tell a epic story and not only be a boring ass quest to get something, characters and the concept of a ancient Babylonia where there is a war between gods and heroic spirits sounds
...
simple but entertaining enough, more if you include characters like Gilgamesh, Enkindu and that excuse of Rin.
Fate Babylonia doesn't give you any backstory about Gilgamesh and Enkindu relationship even considering how incredible that Sumerian Myth is and how many stories they could put from those two, but no, they where going to the easy way and waste time in irrelevant shit like those trash episodes of Ishtar and Fijimaru flirt or Fijimaru and every other female servant / goddess flirt, that come to the most boring and plane episode from this series, the episode 20, the final fight between Tiamat and King Hassan, not only messed up the fight but the King Hassan character too, I don't know what to say, I feel like Fate Apocrypha final was better, at least was emotional and had epic fights with an proper ending for some Servants even if the rest of the show was pretty shite ... Babylonia lost his time to shine even when the first half was amazing but a good story needs a good end.
I know not even Fate's creator takes seriously FGO but i respect FGO because isn't pretend to be something deep or some kind of spinoff from the original Fate Universe, Fate Grand Order has his own path and charisma at difference from other Fate series that call themselves spinoffs from Zero and Stay Night like Apocrypha and Lord El-Melloi II two series that take the name from the original series and destroy every piece of lore and canon they can.
But at the end:
Characters: Mediocre but entertaining enough (5)
Animation: Like the music outstanding (10)
Art & Design: The textures and colors deserves a (7)
Story: It is fine for a game like FGO but they should have tried a bit harder and add some new content (4)
Enjoyment: Ain't gonna lie, i was enjoy it a lot, but it has his flaws at least after the ten first episodes and those greats episodes seems to be eclipsed by an anticlimactic ending (7)
Potential wasted: 10/10... but that is very subjective because is my personal thought and isn't should be considered in any part of the final rating.
Reflection: Almost every technical aspect from this series are pretty outstanding like the sound effects (my lord, eargasm) direction, animation, CGI... but it's a shame that the narrative aspects are pretty mediocre
Rate: 6.6 (7) or (6) if u want.

(WITHOUT SPOILER) - 4 episodes so far...
I has to admit that a was not expecting nothing about this, even if i put the series in Plan to Watch i didn't care about watching it but i surprised how good this is.
At first look seems to be a typical Slice of Life anime that only want to put a beatiful girl in 'cute' situations (cute girls doing cute things) if it had some of that it really isn't the main focus, the world of fashion is it is the main focus, how competitive is, how a world that meybe look simple and superficial for the rest
...
of us is actually is a world where a lot people put his hopes and dreams with all his effort (physical and emotinal) i think it is nice to see the main characters doing what it is necessary to reach that dream in a realistic way, they feel humans, they rage, they crie, they fear, not all is happiness the life has moments to suffer and prevail and i think is something that this genred seems that they forgot.
The characters are likeable and relatable they don't seem to be the typical one-dimensional characters that only you can wait the same shit in every scene.
The Story is interesting and is how should be a Slice of Life.
The art is pretty good, at least the desing of the clothes are amazing.
The music is pretty good too, not the big thing but is okay.
