While the stories are considerably different, I believe that if you enjoyed one, you will definitely enjoy the other. Both shows are concentrated fast-paced fun with a knack for over-the-top craziness. Another common element which immediately made me think of the other anime is creatively used ecchi. The shows use eye candy in a way that is usually appealing or at least excusable even to people who usually avoid it like a plague. Lastly, there's a similarity in the setting (school) and the rough plot outline (rising through the ranks to fight the main antagonist, an arrogant young girl).

Both are horror manga that are actually scary, not like some shoujo wannabe horrors. Both contain explicit violence, altrough Uzumaki is still way more... creative. If you´ve read it you know what I mean. Stories actually aren´t similar, but they give off the same genuinely creepy atmosphere. Artwork in both is fitting to the genre, but still kind of... pretty. Okay, not pretty, since it´s strange to call such scenes pretty, so I´ll say well-drawn instead. Uzumaki and Ibitsu are definitely must read for all horror fans.

Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica

There is more to them than meets the eye. While Neon Genesis Evangelion may seem like boring mecha "monster of the week" show, Madoka Magica may appear as fluffy and naive mahou shoujo. Well, if you think that, you have been trolled successfully. Evangelion and Madoka are both stories that focus on characters' psyche and the way they (can't) handle problems that would have been extremely difficult even for adults... And they are kids. Madoka and Shinji are quite similar protagonists, mainly in thei desire to be recognized and useful. Even supporting characters in both anime are really well fleshed out. All in all, if you want to watch good anime that stretches borders of it's own genre, watch Madoka or Evangelion. In my opinion, you should see both.

Die

Both are mangas by Kaori Yuki, so you can expect great art, strong story, some level of cruelty towards characters and psychological plot. What else could you ask for? :) Die is oneshot which contains only about 16 pages, but it still has stronger story than most of extremely popular mangas. Zankoku na Douwa-tachi is collection of three oneshots. My personal favourite is Cruel Fairytales. I highly recommend them, as well as other masterpieces of Yuki-sama.

Both "horror" mangas and both are collections of short stories. They really aren´t very scary, I didn´t even feel surprise while reading them, but these mangas are shoujos, so.. I kinda expected it. A World Unknown to You is better in my opinion, because stories in it are more.. intriguing. Both mangas are sometimes incredibly cliché, but if you want something funny and easy to undestand, go for it.

Power!!

Power!! and Hana-Kimi are both gender-bender series, both are very funny comedies and characters are simply hilarious. But let me tell you a secret: I enjoyed Power!! more than Hana-Kimi. Why? Power!! is more comedy than shoujo, it contains more action + I absolutely LOVE pairing Kyo/Chiharu (and this statement comes from someone who usually hates shoujo... Power!! is shoujo for people who don´t like shoujo. Hana-Kimi is more about romance and such, but it´s still great and funny. I highly recommend both series.
