Clannad is the embodiment of a perfect story. It has ups and downs, boring moment, emotional moments, it's funny, and it makes you think a lot about your own life. I've been an anime fan for many years, but I have never touched Clannad up until now. I thought it was probably going to be a generic tear-jerker with a good soundtrack, but I'm glad that I was very wrong. Furthermore, I have never watched through 47 episodes of anime faster. It only took me around 5 days to finish, even tho I have work and a busy adult life.
Clannad is the story of our
...
boy Tomoya. He's a generic, boring guy with a delinquent life. He doesn't want to accomplish anything. All he does is hang around his delinquent friend Sunohara. He had no goals, no hobbies, no family. He hates the city he lives in. This all changes when he meets a girl on his way to school. The rest is history.
The way Tomoya is, hit really hard for myself. I had many years, where I didn't have a goal for myself. I felt like just quitting school and locking myself in my room. Everything was boring. I didn't hate my life, but I didn't love it either. Just like Tomoya. His relationship with his family also shows why he thinks like that. All his loved-ones are torn away from him. His mother is long gone and he doesn't see his own father as family anymore.
After meeting Nagisa at the bottom of the hill on his way to school, he finds something in life worth protecting. A goal to accomplish. He wants to make the theater club bloom again for her sake. The character development is so beautiful in this show. The way Tomoya goes from boring, almost dead guy, to a person that wants to protect something...
Clannad was superb. I enjoyed it a lot. The ending made me really happy too. I felt like me and Tomoya had come a long way. And then After Story starts. This is where the tears start coming.
The beginning of After Story was pretty slow. We still had some open ends from Clannad and this is where we got our answers. I love the arc with Sunohara. He really is the best bro. Tomoya would have never made it far without him. It also made me realize how important it is to talk. Sunohara had strong beliefs that his sister didn't care for him. But why shouldn't she. They are family, after all. The next arc was overall a bit weaker in my opinion.
From episode 9 the anime was perfect. I won't talk too much about it tho, you have to experience it yourself. Especially, episodes 18 and 19 were some of the best I have ever seen. Let's just say the tears kept coming.
"Is it alright not to hold it in anymore? Sanae told me there are two places I can cry. In the bathroom… and in Daddy's arms."
Those words made me take a little break to get my emotions in check. I wanna add that I am a 19yr old 6ft tall dude btw. I never thought I would cry like this to an anime. But im only human I guess. I thought of the characters almost like my own family.
I was happy with the ending too. Let's leave it at that. Every anime fan in this world should watch Clannad. That's what I think. So please give it a go. I'm awful at writing reviews, but I just had to write about this show. Otherwise, my mind wouldn't be at rest. I'm going to go and feed the emptiness of finishing a perfect anime, by listening to the Clannad ost.
Thank you Clannad. 10/10

The Familiar of Zero or Zero no Tsukaima. I've heard people calling this the best romance story in all of fiction. I wondered if this old anime might be any good, so a few days ago i finally caved in and gave it a try.
STORY: The plot of Zero no Tsukaima is pretty straightforward. Magic school setting and every mage at the academy is an aristocrat. Louise (one of our main characters) is an absolute zero at everything magic related, hence the nickname "Louise the Zero". She can't cast a single spell without blowing up everything in her vicinity. In the second
...
year of Magic Academy, the students perform a summoning ritual for a familiar. Everybody gets cool pets like a dragon, a frog or a mole..? Louise's ritual fails (who could have seen this coming) and she summons a human as her familiar (or pleibian). She summoned Saito, a Japanese high school boy. They form their contract by kissing and Saito is extremely confused because he cannot even speak the language of this new world. Afterwards, Zero casts a spell on him. It fails horribly, but now he can speak the language of the world. She tells him to do his chores, or otherwise he won't get any food (poor Saito). This is basically the core plot of this whole series. Afterwards, we have some everyday stuff at the academy, and we learn about a secret organization that plans to take over the world. The selling point of this show is, of course, the relationship between Saito and Louise. In the first season, there isn't too much romance. The anime focuses more on storytelling with little sprinkles of romance here and there, which I think was nice.
CHARACTERS: Oh boy, if you like annoying girls, this anime is just for you. Let's just say that Louise is extremely annoying and gets angry at literally anything that Saito does. She constantly screams at him and whips him until he can't move. So she basically abuses the living hell out of him. Also, she is a tsundere and cannot be honest with her feelings for Saito and instead just resorts to getting angry. I can understand her a little bit though, because Saito is such a perverted dude, that he will literally wag his tail at every girl in the world... EVEN the princess. So, yeah, we have a pretty annoying pair of main characters, but deep down I was still rooting for them and I always got excited whenever they were finally honest with each other. I won't talk about the other characters in depth, but they are pretty alright.
ART: I personally really liked the art of the anime. The anime was released more than a decade ago, and it still has better art than some shows today. The fights were a bit wacky and lacked movement. You could see that they were trying to keep things short. But the general style of all the characters is great. I love the 2000s anime style.
MUSIC: The music wasn't too notable, but the OP was amazing. Definitely one of the classics.
SUMMARY: All in all I have mixed feelings about this anime. I personally enjoyed it and watched all 13 episodes in just two sittings. I can understand why this anime might not appeal to some people. It's pretty easy-going and has some almost cringey scenes. For me, this is a perfect "turn your brain off and enjoy" kind of show. Just a show you watch for fun. In the end, I was actually pretty invested, hence i picked up the second season because I'm itching to see more of Louise's and Saitos love story. If you like fantasy romance stories with some ecchi elements, I can definitely recommend this show to you, otherwise you are going to be pretty disappointed if you're searching for a super serious show. It's just 13 episodes, so if you don't know what to watch, just give it a try! 7/10

Gurren Lagann or Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann is a show that every anime fan should see. There is no show that's more motivating on this planet.
STORY: The story of this anime is absolutely amazing. The anime has amazing pacing and there are no boring episodes. Everything has a purpose in the story. There's a lot of comedy but also extremely serious scenes, and they are perfectly executed. You will have to experience the rest for yourself though.
CHARACTERS: Holy, this anime has great characters. Kamina is the absolute GIGA CHAD. He's the driving force of this anime and one of my all time favorite characters.
...
Simon is very timid and doesn't have much courage, but Kamina helps him become a better person. I really love their relationship. There is also Yoko. She's the last one of the main three. Her personality is great, and she has a pretty good background story.
ART / ANIMATION: The art and animation are very fitting for the show. Its excellent and it's a bit "Silly". The fight scenes are ahead of their time. I've rarely seen anime with such amazing animation. There isnt a single frame that looks bad. Everything has a unique flavor to it.
OPENING / ED: I just also had to talk about the opening here. It's one of the best openings of all time. Shoko Nakagawa has certainly cooked here.
SUMMARY / ENJOYMENT: One of my all time favorite anime. In my opinion, it's a 10/10. Stop reading reviews and just watch it.

Gochuumon wa Usagi desu ka? Bloom follows our 5 main characters (Cocoa, Chino, Rize, Syaro and Chiya) while they do everyday things at their cafés. Just like the previous 2 seasons. After watching through all the adapted material, I can proudly say that this show is very heartwarming, and the final season is the best one yet.
CHARACTERS: The characters in Gochuumon wa Usagi desu ka? Bloom are great as always. Everyone has a unique personality which makes for some interesting scenes / moments. There's Cocoa, a cheerful airhead, Chino who is an introvert, Rize who loves military, Syaro / Sharo, who is like
...
a perfect girl but also poor (the best girl), and Chiya, she's something... And also there's Maya and Megu (Chino's middle school friends) and some more side characters. It's great how we could see some character development during the series. Chino became way more outgoing and Cocoa slowly became more and more dependable.
ART: I think the art is almost perfect for a show like this. It's nothing over the top, but it's also still very good and pleasant for te eyes. The design for the characters is great, and each one has their own color. The backgrounds for the show are also beautiful.
STORY: This show is more of a slice of life anime, so it doesn't follow a strict story. There's still some character development. Also, time still flies (the characters don't stay the same age forever...). Most episodes consist of some problems. For example, there's a marathon at school and Chiya wants to finish the race with Cocoa. She starts to train and Rize helps her. Together they accomplish it. Or Chino is unsure which high school she should attend after middle school etc.
SUMMARY: One of the best CGDCT Shows. It's a very wholesome show with an interesting story. If you're a fan of easygoing slice of life stories with cute girls, I would definitely watch it.
