Let me start this review by saying, that since Hajime No Ippo , I've never given any other anime a perfect 10 score.
I really hate grading something "perfect", because there are only few, and maybe not even few animes that can fit into that category. And I'm most certainly sure that many of you would disagree with me, heck, maybe even I change my mind when the emotions calm down.
But at this moment, right after watching this brilliant piece of art, I can say nothing less than : Absolutely Brilliant.
The story started very slow, and I found it hard to follow the plot, but later
...
on, everything kinda felt right.
The mixture of cyber-punk, fantasy, science fiction, love romance and family drama-comedy, mixed with slice of life, just make an astonishing and breathtaking anime cocktail, to be enjoyed by everyone.
Even though the story is filled with various cliche's, they somehow still work, and they complete this anime extravaganza.
There are some scenes that I've seen in many other animes, but never really laughed and enjoyed like in Summer Wars.
And there are some scenes that reminded me, and made me felt like I'm watching some of the cult movies like "The independence Day".
Without bothering you too much with story, art, sound, and other segments of the movie, I'll just say, this is, without a doubt, one of the most astonishing surprises since I started watching anime.
And this one is really worth watching, because it will make you enjoy the little things, it will make you laugh, it will make you sit on the edge of your seat, but it will certainly not disappoint you.
Cheers.

Porco Rosso is one of my all-time favorites, when it comes to anime movies, and especially when it comes to studio Ghibli works.
I'm a big fan of Miyazaki, and I've pretty much enjoyed every one of his works, from Totoro to Mononoke hime.
But this, unlike most of his works, this movie doesn't share a message about environment and humans trying to destroy it. Hence, this movie focuses on a young man, who became a pig, after certain events(something like prince Ashitaka from Mononoke).
I loved this story mostly because it's somewhat realistic, and the story doesn't fade away into fantasy that much.
This movie was like a
...
chronicle of something that really happened, something that I found much more closer to us humans, then it was with Spirited Away, for example.
Story:
As I said before, story involves a male protagonist, who became a pig, after certain events in his life. He abandoned pre-war Italy and it's aviation and became a bounty hunter, being famous for his outstanding skills with sea-plane.
I found the story surprisingly entertaining and enjoyable. The plot had it's flow without any major setbacks, and the message of the movie is quite brilliant.
Art:
I really think that Studio Ghibli can't make a mistake when it comes to animation.
Each and every one of their movies blew me away, when it came to this aspect.
Vast mediterranean landscapes, drawn with vivid and live colours will take your breath away, and the way they managed to catch a pre-war atmosphere with portraits of the people in Italy, and imagery of famous cabarets is really stunning.
Sound:
I watched Porco Rosso with English dubs(yeah I'm well aware of the mistake), and found it still quite good, but not as good as original japanese dub. Disney made a really great effort, and they did a good job, but it's still a copy of the original.
Characters:
Oh, this is the major problem of Porco Rosso, and mostly all of studio Ghibli's works.
If I asked you know, do you remember any characters from this movie that aren't Porco, there's a great chance you won't remember their faces.
All of the side-part characters are drawn almost "faceless" and they all look the same to me, so at the end, you only remember the unique face of Porco Rosso.
As I said, the combination of fantasy and realism surprised me, when I expected to deal with something like Miyazaki's usual works. The theme and settings in the Europe felt closer to me, as I'm from Europe too(mediterranean in a matter of fact).
All in all, I feel that Porco Rosso is really underrated, as I find this piece of work to be much more enjoyable than Spirited Away.
Enjoy.

You know that feeling, when you start doing something, and can't get enough of it??
Well I had that feeling while reading Akira.
I bought it from a local manga shop, not expecting anything special.
As I started reading it, I found myself sucked into the story.
As it starts, the story is filled with mysteries, confusing things, and secrets that you just can't wait to uncover. And as you finish chapter by chapter, you finally get to unlock few secrets, but new bunch of them shows from nowhere.
So it's pushing you to keep reading, until you finish it completely.
The art isn't something revolutionary, but it's still pretty good.
...
It doesn't have "chibi" drawings and scenes, and it keeps serious note throughout the whole manga. While the characters are talking, and not doing anything important for the story(like getting to know each other etc...), the art is pretty standard. Nothing special, and with not too much details. But when it comes to big explosive scenes, gunfights, running, jumping, and just staying alive scenes, that's where Katsuhiro shows his best. The drawings become so vivid, and details just blows you off.
You'd just stop with reading, and admire the awesomnest of the explosion, for example.
So, it's like Katsuhiro is saving power for scenes like these.
The characters are really something special. Not until the end, you know who's on who's side.
It's really well done. For example, you never learn everything you want about Akira, and when you close the last page of manga, you're searching for some other pages that maybe fell off, because you can't belive that it's finished, with you still not getting bunch of stuff.
But that's the stuff about this manga. Even though it explains most of the intriguing stuff to sattisfy part of your curiosity, you still want more, and you're left to think about the end, and characters, and story overall. And you're just thinking, "what the hell did just happen"
I really enjoyed this manga, and it's my favorite(even though I didn't read much).
If you consider yourself a manga lover, this is a must read for you.
It's must read for anybody that ever held a manga in his/her hands.
And I'm not just saying. This is something really special, and I bet my hand that you're gonna love it.
Enjoy.

Wolf's Rain OVA are Episodes 27-30 or, 4 last episodes in the anime.
At first I will say: The whole point of anime, all thoughts and ideas that creator had when he was making this show, are concluded here.
So, you actually can't say that you've watched Wolf's Rain if you havent seen these 4 episodes.
You see, you can look at this show like it's written for younger audiences, and you can look at it as if it is one special riddle that has secrets hidden behind it's obvious covers.
Or You can look at it this way: Watching Wolf's rain without OVA can satisfy you. And you
...
don't need to watch OVA if you are looking at this show superficially. That is unnecessarily.
But if you scratch through the pure surface of the show you will not be confused about later "tragical" events.
Generally speaking, there is no difference in story, art, sound or any other part that can be graded.
So, I will just tell my idea, and how did I solve the puzzle of this great Anime.
Because everyone can solve it. You can experience the show in many different ways.
It depends on you and your ideas of life. So, the show is made to have million endings.
Because here, the person who will end the story is a watcher, or YOU.
That is the thing that i love here. If the creator just took a pen and wrote the end, we wouldn't be here talking about it's deeper meaning.
But in some way, it can have deeper meaning, and it can have NO deeper meaning.
As I said, it depends on you. So actually everyone is satisfied :D
The only persons that are not satisfied are the persons that can't use their own head and want for every anime to end obviously.
Put an effort to it, and you will see, the show has billion possible endings
Enjoy :)

When you want to put a mark and your own opinion regarding show like this, you first need to think about every detail. Because in this anime, nothing is so obvious. There is always some hidden meaning.
This is the story about friendship, strong bonds between characters, that are yet to be formed, the tasks and dangers that they need to get through together. The love, the honor, the pride.
This is not the story about wolves. This is the story about humans. About US. We take everything for granted now. And in our lives, there will be the moment when those things we took for
...
granted, cease to exist. And then we will face ourselves.
And wolves are trying to tell us that. Only people that still have something human in them will prevail, and live, when the judgment day arrives.
And that thing that makes us humans is not tech, guns, computers, cars, and stuff like that.
It is our feelings, our bonds, our spirit.
Story:
This is not a classic apocalyptic story. There are no aliens. Nature won't destroy us.
Here, humans destroy themselves. But nature just won't give up hands from us.
She's trying to save us, and sending wolves to "restart" the world.
At the beginning they just want to go find Paradise. But Paradise doesn't exist, and yet it does. The Paradise is not somewhere in sky, in clouds, or in space. The Paradise is on our planet, and only WE, no one but WE can form it the way we want. Depending on that, the Paradise can become real Heaven, and can also become Hell. And when we learn and see our errors, we are yet again repeating them.
Art:
Animation is quite good, the action is fluid and very nice. But I have seen better. The light effects are pretty awesome, but there are no "happy" colors. It is almost always gray-brown-black combination. But it's logical, because you can't expect apocalypse with happy colors, except in Disney cartoons :) (I actually love them :D)
Sound:
Music is also good, but for you guys that like more than 1 opening and ending it's not, right :)
Ending is pretty emotional and leisure. But when you consider opening and rate it by quality you can't get a good mark. The thing is that the creator wanted symbolical meaning for opening, so he put those puzzles in it, so you could see the story behind the obvious.
When anime is ending, you again hear that previous opening "Stray". That is the last puzzle of this great story. I've composed the puzzle in my way. Try it yourself. you will be thrilled.
Let me say just that the point of "stray" being in beginning and ending of a show is a symbol of never ending circle. The wolves will always come back and try to help us.
Characters:
The characters are not so good shaped like in some other shows, but the story is not about "some" characters, but all humans overall. Yet every main character has his own story, they aren't so special.
Overall:
If you like being a "detective" and like watching shows that hide the real meaning behind it's covers, this is the show for you.
Yet if you like battles, blood and story about pure friendship this is, again, story for you.
That is the most awesome thing about this show. It is written for everyone.
But how the end, and story overall is going to finish, depends on each individual :)
Warm recommendation :)
Enjoy.

You know, I've always loved boxing. Yet i never imagined that anime series about boxing could be much more interesting than the "real thing". Well, actually, It's not!
In this anime you don't just have pure fight, action non-stop. NO!
You get to know each one of the characters in the series. It's like you're one part of this anime. I don't know, I've never felt it before. The "gang"...It always looked like I am part of it, laughing and sorrowing with them. Watching them get beat up and yet stand again.
I know this review sounds like shit, and there are 100% lot better reviews then this,
...
but I'm sorry, i can't write review about this series and not get my emotions here. You know, reviews are about scores, studying all segments of series, but this anime HAS SOUL.
The characters are so vivid, and real. You have so many different people here, each one better than another, all unique in some sort of way. It blows you off. It sucks you in.
This anime shows that there is no just "brute force" in boxing. Those boxers have something that keeps them on surface, not letting them sink. And it actually shows you that this is not impossible. This is not an anime about some superhero. You can be just one of these people. With your friends, your guts, your will, will of steel. It shows you that there is nothing, NOTHING more important, NOTHING more valuable than FRIENDSHIP. It seems stupid, but that's the thing that can push you up when you feel like dying.
And you know what? Forget crap like marks. I cannot grade it. It doesn't deserve any number.
Because when you put one part of your soul in something, you cannot give it any limitations.
I started up, thinking this review is gonna be very short. But... When you are touched by something, you just cannot stop. And now i'm feeling a bit lighter, because I've shared this with you. I don't care if this was helpful or not. When this anime ended, I've lost part of my soul with it, but yet i learned something that cannot be learned in any school.
-I've learned what is the thing that makes man GREAT.
Simple...
I will never forget about this one. Enjoy you guys...

This is one awesome manga. I'm actually not a fan of samurai stuff. I like Sci-fi and fantasy. But the first thing that stunned me here was awesome art.
The clean moves with pen makes an awesome drawing that is stunning and complex at the same time. But yet, in some places you cannot clearly see what is going on. Regarding that, i was amazed with so much violence and blood in this manga. And let's be honnest. This manga has it a lot.
The storyline at the begining seemed nothing special at all, but as you keep reading, the story shapes better, and introduces us with
...
Rin and Manji. Those personallities are total opposite of each other, and that gets them in all sord of disagreement.
I really enjoyed reading this manga, and overall, this is one helluva' peace of art. Just don't read it if you don't have solid stomach for it :)
Good reading ;)
