Shounen Shoujo Hyouryuuki is a story about clueless youth, and their problem.
back when we’re young, we always think that our problem is the hardest thing that we ever encountered, we always feel occupied by even such a simplest thing. everyone has their own circumstances which they want to overcome. and this manga is example of how devastating even a simplest problem is for youth.
Story:9/10
even when the story of each student sometimes is simple, the execution of it is not. we’re forced to see their problem in their point of view, in which to be honest, not as simple as we think. we see a
...
lot of weird delusion, imagination, trauma, and anxiety that each students have.
all of the students way of thinking are complete delusion and imagination to the truth that they always want to avoid. they started to create a happy imagination, because they’re afraid to move forward, to be straighforward, to be honest with themselves, and to realize that this is something that they shouldn’t do. this is being a youth is all about, to overcome fear and breaking the comfort zone that they reside for a long time.
all of the story just kind of hit us with realization that not everything is pretty, even for youth.
Art:8/10
the first Usamaru Furuya’s works that i read was Jisatsu Circle, the story of Suicide Club. and the artstyle is very entertaining, it may not as surreal as Shintaro Kago’s, but it sure really depicting what it needs to be. his artstyle when creating all those imagination are very well done.
Character:9/10
each of the 9 students have different personality and different problem. from the simplest one such as a girl whose anxious about his weight, to the harsh one such as traumatize girl with her trusty wand.
i love all of them because it reminds me on how silly a highschool student can be, and how some of them really through something that they shouldn’t have in their age. the older you are, the more you realize how nice and easy it is to be able to complain about anything, and not putting any facade just because you’re adult.
Enjoyment:8/10
it’s a refreshing read about highschool student and their problem visualized with abnormal imagination, something you not see everyday.
Overall:9/10
it’s a nice read, it’s short, but each chapter gives us a lot of message, especially for me. it tells us that, not everyone has a same mindset as you, we face problem everyday, but not everyone can easily overcome that problem. and sometimes, the problem is not about the problem, it’s about how we reacted to the problem.
and these student sure are clueless about their own problem.

Toukou Tochuu no Deaigashira no Guuzen Kiss wa Ariuru? Jikken, or as we can say the “Can an Accidental Collision on the Way to the School Result in a Kiss” experiment.
this manga is named after one of the short stories inside it. Shintaro Kago once again bringing us another one of his bizzare and weird story with a beautiful art that complement each other.
Story:8/10
the story is not focused on one thing, hence the collection. it consist of many different thing that is unique, weird, and beautiful in its on way. there are only art, stories with no text, stories with a confusing art, stories with
...
a confusing stories, art with confusing stories, and all sort of weird and abnormal masterpiece.
Shintaro Kago also put a good satirical stories and art which we can appreciated greatly and really makes us think, splashed with dark jokes here and there. his taste are imppecable, truly a great manga with a twisted mind.
there are some of my favorite short stories in this manga;
“Question asked by the Small” the story on how a toy is suitable for children or not
the journey of Detective in Gutter town and Headline village. this is one the most unique 4th wall breaking that i’ve ever seen, it leaves you in confusion as it only makes it harder to read the manga. nonetheless, it’s unique.
“Selective Memory” with also a very unique story on how different memories can make up something that we never do before.
“The Stretcher Rally” a story about a race to the hospital.
and all sorts of stories and art that will make you weirded out, confused, and makes you questioning everything.
art:10/10
his realistic artstyle is one the most appealing art that i’ve ever seen from a realistic artist, no doubt about it. combined with his gruesome and twisted stories, it creates a true semi-horror comedic stories.
character:7/10
getting occupied by the stories and art, i can’t really focused myself on the character, it only serves as a tool for delivering the twisted stories that is happening inside.
Enjoyment:9/10
i greatly enjoyed it, every single page is a bless for me, it always gives you something to be think about, something to be analyze, or disgusted, confused, laughed, all sort of emotions. becaus it consist of short stories and unique art, it gives always give you a different vibe each time, so it keeps me entertained.
Overall:8/10
a good read to waste your time on a boring and dull day, give this short collection a shot and let it consume you.

to stumbled upon this manga means to jump up to the most bizarre and irrational history about the world, and their beautiful relationship with mongolian horses, that indeed is not actual horses.
Story:7/10
i found the story to be very unique depiction of our actual history, with the addition of these strangeness that occured. the more we dwell into the abnormalities of the mongolian horses, the more we discovered the true form of their uses. the story greatly emphasize these development.
if you’re not enjoying these bizarre story in the first place, you’ll better stop continuing, because it only gets better, or worse.
Art:10/10
what we can appreciate in this
...
manga is the beautiful art that is Shintaro Kago masterpiece. his realistic artstyle, not just this, but also almost all of his works are beautiful, it’s very appealing for people who loves realistic art, but sadly the story is not realistic as the artsyle.
Character:7/10
what is a bizarre story without a bizarre character. we will witness the great character that influence our world, with a twist of their genius minds. we will witness Vasco de Gama that use vomit to communicate. we witness James Watt with his glorious defective skills and his masochistic girlfriend. Henry Ford and his love for copulating with a conveyor belt. and all of those irrational characters that is not enough to be put in here.
Enjoyment:8/10
despite being weirded and disgusted by it, the creativity is limitless in here, there so much thing that left with a lot of question, there so much to be discovered in here. i thoroughly enjoyed every single chapter, wondering what can these mongolian horses do to entertain me until the end.
i can say to myself i will greatly enjoyed this if this was longer, it left us with a big question mark in our head.
Overall:7/10
if only the story can reach to it’s conclusion, i would give it a better score. the abrupt ending really didnt justified the great artstyle and bizarre story. i wanna know more about monglian horses!, i want to witness the great ancient discovery that already influence the whole world, the God, the Giant, the Ultra Power Mongol Invasion!

i never though my life experience will exist as a manga form that is Usotsuki Paradox.
every chapter reminds me of the bitterness that i had in the past with the one i loved. clearly i cannot view this manga on objective view, because this one really close at home. i feel like i’ve reading my life again, thinking how stupid their decision was until i realized i’ve done this too. i feel hurt just to see how similiar is my resemblance with the character, even until the end.
you’ll never knew how logically possible this manga is until you actually experience on how pathetic you can
...
be for someone you love so much, how you can go to lowest of low of your dignity, just for the one you love. how willingly you to do anything, just for the one you love. and yes, it’s all lie that you’ve made up because you’re afraid. i was once that too.
4 characters here. Seiyuu, Youkadou, Mai and Kazuki, are major character that influence the story of love and lies that makes us excited, shocked, and disgusted.
“Romance where nobody gets hurt is a delusion, what you’re doing is protecting yourself and avoiding responsibility.” this is the manga summed up in one sentence
i want to give a review subjectively as i retell my real life resemblance with this manga.
-from this point on, i will start dropping Spoiler.-
to tell you how similiar the resemblance with me?, yes, i shared too, that’s the lowest i’ve ever been and i’ll never planned to witness that experience again. you think this is some kind of a good fetish and it’s good that the problem is resolved, but no, it hurts so bad. i utterly respect Kazuki for what he’s done, he willingly to put a facade for a long time just to make everything works out, to make everything just like what it was, to keeping up everything together, at least for Kazuki and Seiyuu, despite the fact it doesnt, and it never will.
and yes, i was once cheating with my own childhood friend. just like Kazuki. when i read this manga, i was very surprised how this turns out to be an exact mirror of my life, and what makes me sad is that the story of their relationship also ends up exactly like my life.
i can list almost 80% of the similiar resemblance, but i think that’s not the point.
all i can say is that, this manga hits me on personal level that i can’t even imagined, it hits you with a realization that even the most seemingly absurd concept, can even worked out in real life. what seemingly impossible, possible.
love fueled with lies can’t never be put out, once you jump there, you’ll never go back, comforting lies is always appealing, until you realize how much damaged you put, that you cant even shows the truth anymore.
these character is an embodiment of trash. all of these people, using lie to forge your way to the top of your fake happiness. but just because it’s trash doesnt mean it’s neccesarily untrue. because becoming an adult doesnt mean we become a good people....
“to become an adult means to be good at telling lies, right?”

this is a science fiction manga, but it still making us think that wishing this kind of thing can happen to us, change our past because we're messed up now.
when we look very closely, in a first place, Ichijou was a selfish person. he's afraid about all the things he had done in the future because he'll get killed. and his priority is just to do things in a right way in order to not get killed.
but along the way, he know that, if not for the power that bring him to his past, he would've never feel all of this experience he never had
...
in his highschool live. everyone around him change, and he's changing too, and that's what matter.
but no matter he can change it, doesnt mean everything will change, indeed there will be consequences, but the feeling of joy, redemption, and happiness that he''ll never had before will bring so much better for him and everyone around him, Ichijou would never hold any regret.
i'd really enjoy this manga. it doesnt difficult to understand because all the narration inside Ichijou's head will sort things out without making us the reader thinking too hard. and it's short, the story didnt waste too much chapter to get things straight, but it's still pretty easy to understand with just 22 chapters.
10/10 would reccomend to friends and family.

this is the first time i shed a tear for several times in every different chapter.
if you ever experienced the feeling of loss of your loved one, you will realize how much hard it is to see them one last time. and for me, this manga is really close to me. i've experienced loss 4 times, and i realize how fragile a human can be. the only thing we can do is to make sure our last goodbye is counted, and keep on living for the sake of your loved ones.
Story:
every chapter tells you about what it feels like to be with someone you
...
love, and how much you taken them for granted. the conflict in every story always gives us a message that somehow bittersweet but captivating to keep us reading it.
Art:
the art is really good, its enough to convey every single things that the story needs to deliver
Character:
despite the main character attitude of being "jerk", he have his own reason to acted that way. and reading it more will make us realize how hard it is to be like him, and how suffered he is just to make other people smile.
Enjoyment:
i really enjoy how the things turns out in the story, for the better or worse. the explanation in the story is always simple, no need to thinking hard about everything in the story because the message is always delivers very well. and i enjoy every single chaper of it.
Overall:
it's a good simple read (only 42 chapters.) i thought it would be dealing with a lot of gore and sadist stuff, but i just realized this is a Josei manga, but it's a good read nevertheless.
the theme of the story may be very odd for some people, but if you fine about it, the manga will give you something more than just corpse.
