First, this anime is really good if you want some cute wholesome and laid back romance, but already tired of stupid drama and endless "will they won't they" bullshit because both main casts are already dating early on.

The fact that both MCs have unusual dynamics with its role reversal make their relationship standout and cute. Shikimori and Izumi are pretty much in love with each other, willing to be better to make their relationship works, communicate properly when in problem, yet also still clueless and embarrased like the actual teenager in relationship for the first time.

Its side characters are also pretty fun and fits overall ... theme of this anime. You will see how solid their friendships are and how they enjoying their daily life.

In addition, Izumi is actually not a self insert at all. If anything, he is pretty much not your usual shounen romance MC even if many of you don't like that. Like how he is not the usual loner dense dude and actually act normally to girls, not an introvert despite being more shy than Shikimori, has overall good fortitude and generally kind-hearted.

I personally recommend this anime if you looking for wholesome romance with cute couple and fun side casts, but not if you still have narrow perspective of how boy and girl should act.
