This isn't going to be a super in depth review of the anime or anything like that. I'm just going to tell you how I feel about the anime after everything I'd heard about it.
I'll start off by saying that the fact that so many people were dying for a season 2 and were so hyped when season 2 was announced blows my mind because this wasn't good and I can name multiple animes that were better and deserve another season over this and as of right now won't be getting one for the foreseeable future and some that probably won't ever be getting
...
one. Some of them being: High School DxD, Shinmai Maou no Testament, Noragami, The God of High School, Tensura (though it's getting a movie), Aesthetica of a Rogue Hero, just to name a few.
I also want to say Ayanokouji was extremely underwhelming, I hear everyone on the internet saying Ayankouji this and Ayanokouji that and that he's the goat and all this great stuff about Ayanokouji and COTE in general, but you don't really get to see what Ayanokouji can do until the final episode of the season. Before that you get little peeks at what he's capable of but nothing super mind blowing or cool or anything like that. You get a sense of what he's capable of but don't get to see it.
I also want to say that the I find the episodes pretty bland and not very interesting although they do certainly have their moments for about 3 seconds an episode.
I'll end this on a positive note saying that Ayanokouji's thoughts that we hear at the end of episode 12 do leave you wanting to see what will happen next and set up for what could definitely be a very interesting second season
