Bokura wa Minna Kawaisou is very much along similar as Mahoraba. Both series about a guy who moves into a boarding house filled with "unique" characters and falls in love with one of the girls. The manga highlight their romantic relationship in similar ways; lighthearted in nature with comedy here and there, no angst heavy and little to no drama. In general, the story mainly revolves around the complex and its residents daily lives. I highly recommended these two if you want to read a romance manga with actual progression.

...then you might like Grand Blue add

Grand Blue is basically a less raunchy version of Prison School. Both manga share the same comedic style and ridiculous humor; the use of exaggerated and over the top reactions, dialogues, and facial expressions in a wide variety of situations. Yet despite having no similarity in the storyline and setting, the two showcase the male camaraderie and bonds among the cast with a little hint of romance here and there. The art work of both manga also have the similar style and vibe-- clean, proportional, and detailed for the most part. I highly recommend these two especially if you're a comedy manga enthusiast.

...then you might like Giganto Makhia add

SnK and Giganto Makhia set in a new world where mankind has to fight for its own survival against monstrous titans and other godlike forces. They also take ideas from western mythology in which giants often appear. While SnK is rooted in Norwegian legends, Giganto Makhia incorporates Greek mythology into its story. Without spoiling anything, the two main characters in both manga also have a similar hidden power. If you like one, I recommend check the other.

Light-hearted romance manga with progression. That sums up Bonnouji and Horimiya perfectly as they both explore the romance aspect beyond the love confession without delve too much into dramatic overtones. While Bonnouji focuses only on a young adult couple, Horimiya on the other hand, revolves around highschoolers. It also features the love stories of its side characters. Despite that, the two follow all phases of the relationship in the same fashion; it starts from meeting, friendship, growing feelings for each other, and finally living their life as a couple.

...then you might like Futari no Renai Shoka add

Are you in the mood to read a short-length romance manga that's not overly dramatic as well as doesn't beat around the bush involving a young man and an older woman? If so, then these two happy-go-lucky series are definitely right up your alley. Follow their story as they gradually get close and comfortable with each other, and finally learn that a significant age difference is not really a big deal when it comes to love.

...then you might like Tokidoki add

Tokidoki and Onnanoko ga Shinu Hanashi tell a story about a young girl dying from a certain incurable illness. The former is pretty straightforward with a twist at the end and also light-hearted in nature. Meanwhile the latter explores more its theme by showing relational impact of the protagonist's fate and illness on people who are close to her. I recommend these two if you like to read manga that handle the related topic in two completely different ways.

Both Oyasumi Punpun and Aku no Hana focus on a story of a normal kid dealing with both the joys and agonies of growing up. The two are depressing coming-of-age narratives that touch some sensitive and mature themes such as suicidal thoughts, sexual assault, abusive relationship, divorce, feelings of alienation and so much more in a realistic and surreal way at the same time. If you like one, I wholeheartedly recommend checking out the other.

...then you might like Hare-Kon. add

As a harem manga, Umi no Misaki and Hare-Kon are basically in the same vein. I label them "true harem manga" where the main protagonist does not shy away from the harem idea itself, instead he embraces it and actually follows through without displaying much favoritism toward a certain girl. The setting is also quite similar; due to different circumstances, they are living together under one roof. If you like these kind of elements in your harem manga, look no further, these two are for you.

...then you might like Ore ga Doutei wo Sutetara Shinu Ken ni Tsuite add

These two manga revolve around time slip and use it as a plot device. For some unknown reasons, the main protagonist in both series finds himself sent back to the past to change the seemingly inevitable outcome. The plot and ideas are also quite similar: time travel, saving a girl, alter the future, and destiny reversal. If you like time travel focused manga with drama here and there, you might like Ore ga Doutei and Erased.
