Both shows deal with the premise of a princess being captured in the castle of the Demon King, with the story taking a comical turn as the princess gets comfortable in the castle in pursue of sleeping (in Maoujou de Oyasumi) or eating (Himesama "Goumon" no Jikan desu).

Both anime have a similar plot centered in the Japan of the Edo period where a female agent of the shogunate goes to recruit a male criminal/outcast with superhuman powers in a legendary quest for a MacGuffin (or various of them in the case of Katanagatari). Main difference is that in Katanagatari the male character is some kind of samurai, while in Jigokuraku the male protagonist is a ninja.

Both anime have a chaotic, disjointed plot, are set in a cyberpunk setting, and have both a similar main characters (a silent, black haired male and a mysterious female), with Ichise most likely taking some elements from Killy. Main difference is that Texhnolyze's plot starts to make more sense as the anime advances, while Blame remains confusing because the anime is a series of chapters randomly taken from the manga.

As the series goes on, the focus starts to be given to the elite members of the main benevolent organizations of the setting, with them receiving spotlight and being fleshed out through the many arcs of the manga.

The main difference is that Rokka portrays the point of view of the group while the imposter remains hidden, while Munou na Nana has the imposter as the main character trying to murder the group.

Both animes treat about a normal teenager who one day is involved in a fight against a monster (a chiropteran in Blood+ and a parasite in Parasyte) and is helped by a character who later turn into its inseparable partner (Haji in Blood+ and Migi in Parasyte). After this moment, both protagonists develops supernatural abilities and decides to fight against the monsters to protect their loved ones after losing one member of their family. Meanwhile, the monsters conspires and mix up with the human society, planning to domain the world. The army is also involved in the story. However, Blood+ has a more slow pacing with traces of the story being revealed little by little, while Kiseijuu is a more fast paced anime, with more action scenes and with a somewhat environmental message.

Both stories deal about a teenager that obtain supernatural superpowers from an inhuman source (a Shinigami in Bleach and a magical spear in Ushio to Tora) to protect his family from spiritual monsters that the normal people can't see, being assisted by a supernatural buddy (Rukia in Bleach, Tora in Ushio to Tora) and both series have an organization who also hunts these monsters.
