I watched 9 episodes for Yuki, but it drained my energy. While the story follows a typical high school romcom setup, it doesn’t do much to stand out. The plot feels predictable, but if you like the genre you may still find it enjoyable for its banter and lighthearted moments. The art style is clean and fitting for the genre though I don't find the character designs to be great for e.g., look at Makeine its characters feel inspired (you can ignore this). Nothing particularly memorable stands out in terms of animation quality—it's passable—the OP is good, and the new ED every episode is a ... nice touch.
Alya, the cover girl, is the centerpiece of the show, the show lives and dies on this hill. However, Yuki’s quirky, gremlin-like charm stole the spotlight for me. The other characters feel somewhat flat, with limited development, which made it hard for me to connect with them.

If you are drawn to Alya’s appeal, this might be worth checking out. For me, the series doesn’t have enough sauce to keep me invested, and I’m unlikely to revisit it in the future.

It just keeps getting better with each episode. The characters all have this authentic feel to them which is oh so rare, as a SOL's bread and butter is its characters after all. The show's overall wholesome vibe is not monotonous as it does not shy away from the sides of people that are not as likable, but its tone is that of kindness and optimism that makes it so enriching (I cannot stop smiling as I watch it).
It would be putting it lightly if I said that I was simply hooked, I am enamored (must stop myself from jumping to the manga).
It seems ... to me at this point that maybe romance will not be the primary focus but I am all for it and I look forward to Mitsumi and Co.'s coming of age story.
