Oh, that evil Junjou Romantica who uses molestation, which is a form of sexual harassment as a plot device. Oh, this evil Junjou Romantica glorifies toxic relationships. So good that there is Sekaiichi Hatsukoi which is better. Wait, this is total nonsense. SEKAIICHI HATSUKOI DOES THE SAME
Is there a problem with this anime? In the fact that it seems that it was written by a homophobe who wanted to ridicule gays and took all stereotypes about gay molesters, aggressive, perverted, the stereotypical division into seme and uke because in a couple two men must be woman and man.
Sekaiichi Hatsukoi's problem is that the relationship he
...
shows is a toxic hell. They can only be called hysterical, melodramatic, violent, manipulative, clownish, but not romantic. And I can explain it. The end of the first episode is disgusting.
Ritsu drinks at Takano's house. And it's okay, but suddenly sexual harassment begins. And Ritsu yells no, stop, but Takano sees what Ritsu is in. He is very drunk, and Takno starts mumbling romantic things in his ear, and suddenly the moment is interrupted. And we have a scene where Ritsu wakes up in bed and doesn't remember what happened. Do I have to explain such banal things? A drunk person cannot consent to sex! What Takano does? Takano takes advantage of this state by manipulating him to get what he wants. In addition, Ritsu refuses to give him permission. I don't need to say what it is.
This season differs from the first only in that Ritsu is no longer a victim of sexual harassment 24/7, and is getting a little closer with his "love".
Takano doesn't take Ritsu seriously. It shows all the time that you dominate it, it shows its 'toxic masculinity, because I don't even know what to call it. They can't talk normally. Takano does NOT like Ritsu. Instead, talk to sexually harasses him. As in season 1, episode 3, he molested Ritsu or force kissed him. He treats him like a stupid kid, not an equal man and partner. Plus he plays the victim. How? Takano laughed in Ritsu's face as he confessed his love to him 10 years ago. How is he acting now? Like a bad boy. He thinks Ritsu is a fool because he says something to him all the time like, "Dummy, I know you love me." In addition, Yokozawa blames Ritsu for Takano's depression after Ritsu quit him 10 years ago. No, Takano didn't take Ritsu seriously, and Ritsu has the right to his own limits and doesn't have to go out with such a person. In addition, Takano is jealous. Not as much as the famous molester, oh sorry writer Usami Akihiko of Junjou Romantica, who wouldn't let poor Misaki go to meet his friends. He gets so jealous just the thought of seeing Ritsu with other guys. Humor is OK. Kisa and Yukina are great people for whom I give +10 points.
There are sweet moments. Yes, but it's the same as coming to a crime scene and sprinkling glitter on everything. Or how to say that a tyrant neighbor who beats his wife is good because he kissed her once. It's a toxic relationship because really cute moms get mixed up with real abuse.
I'm not surprised that Ritsu doesn't want to deal with him. But this season he likes him more. Apparently, the beloved Stockholm Syndrome is starting to work because I don't know what else.
I don't even know what to say. This is better than Romantica? Are you kidding? Just because Romantica is officially a problematic anime that has already shot itself in the leg showing harassment, and more specifically, molestation? Sekaiichi has the SAME in the third episode of the first season. Sex manipulation in Junjou Episode 2? It's the same in Episode 1 and Season 2. I am shocked because it is already considered good. Sekaiichi is the same garbage, but only less rapey. I am shocked and would not recommend this crap to anyone.
I have reviews for the first season, but I don't even want to go back to that. I think I explained in TWO reviews why Sekaiichi is not much better, just less rapey and that's it.

I'm still wondering why this manga is popular. It's 2021 and rapey mangas like Sekaiichi Hatsukoi, Junjou R, Love Stage, Super lovers, etc. are losing in rank and young fujoshi don't like them. And then we have this manhwa with a very high rating.
But here we go.
So, BJ Alex is a manhwa about a fan who meets his internet crush. And they start having a relationship. What do I need to tell you about this? Abusive and toxic as hell.
Who is Alex? Abuser, aggressor, jealous, and manipulator, compulsive crap with low self-esteem, and cartoonist psychopath. That's all I can say about him. Oh, and reminds me of a famous molester, oh sorry writer Usami Akihiko. Dg has the personality of cabbage. Because even the cabbage cob has more personality than he does. No self-respect (without blaming the victim, of course), Disney princess naiveté, and that it. The most interesting part, of course, is the development of Alex's character. His character development is as if Jeffrey Dahmer woke up surely and instead of killing another boy, he went to work in a happy shelter.
He changed after DG stopped putting up with his behavior and left him. I thought great, it must be something good. Oh, of course not. Alex became an exemplary lover and DG fell in love with him again. Because the caricature of Stockholm Syndrome works wonders. There is also a couple of BDSM practitioners here. The victim goes back to his perpetrator who has changed. And it has changed because? Sad story. He was used by some high school guy who said he loved him but didn't really. He reminds me of a kitchen boxer who beats his wife with a rolling pin and pounds his daughter and son with a frying pan because a girl beat him up in kindergarten and now he hates the world. Story? Garbage. Character development? Neuter. Or unrealistic. Garbage. Get it? Cabbage and abuser. Do I recommend reading this? No. There are funny moments and good, very good art. 0.5 for humor and 1.5 for the art style. For everything else, zero. Best regards and have a nice day. :(

I am ready to receive all the slops for this review. I like Given, but to say it is a masterpiece of realistic BL, I don't think so. These are BL standards and the level is so low and weak that compared to others, Given looks like a masterpiece. But let's start from the beginning.
The main couple is fine. Uenoyama is quite okay as a character. I like him, but his boyfriend ... he's such a dull, shallow, and boring character that he's like your typical shounen main character.
I will come back to my beloved Akihiko and Haruka after that.
In typical yaoi, the author also
...
makes such love chemistry that everyone screams that they are a couple and kiss 24/7. In the case of Given, it is somewhat shallow in the sense that it is well between the main couple but they lack some of that love chemistry. But it's good.
The plot cannot be called PWP. We have some common ideas for a music group here. The initial chapters are quite boring, but then the action takes place in a more interesting way. Some chapters are a bit boring, but not bad, it's fun to read. Sometimes there is too much drama, as befits BL.
I don't like the design of the characters because they look quite the same. The only character that stands out from the rest is Akihiko. Others look the same; even the hairstyles are similar, let alone the faces. What I don't like.
For characters, I can give 5, max. 6 out of 10. They are not hysterical, with the emotional development of an elementary school student, and behaving as if they grew somewhere away from people and society in some amoral world like the characters Junjou Romantica or Sekaiichi H. But some really lack that personality and depth. Especially Mafuyu. But it is OK.
And now the problem starts because we have Haruka X Akihiko's reports here. And with this relationship, the series shoots itself in the leg, because it has done what can be called a "classic" BL relationship. And I can already see these screams about how Given is different. But criticism of authorities is also important because remember one simple thing. If something is considered good, or even the best in the eyes of the public, it does not mean that its problematic aspects cannot be questioned or criticized. Yes, we're talking about a sexual assault, a scene that looks a thousand times creepy and rapey in the manga. Hell no. No rape devices, please. And they say it is not romanticized in one of the meanings of the term, yes, but it is not, but it may be about normalization. The term romanticization refers to the fact that something is presented as, for example, normal or even romantic while being bad. The thing yaoi manga writers love even more than I do is the bad boy-good boy thread. In the case of Given, part of the talk may be about normalization. Why? Because Akihiko and Haruki end up together after that. So the series says it's okay to meet the person who attacked you. And this matter is swept under the rug, it is not moved as if nothing happened. Given had potential here, but it blew it with a bang. Akihiko was supposedly a bad guy with problems, but then he realized he was acting badly ?? and he has changed, but this is so stupid and unrealistic. Aki for me personally, as he was an asshole and he was (I invite you to check my given movie review). Haruki, so he's Akihiko's boyfriend, he's fine, I just feel sorry for him because he's too light-hearted and a little naive.
Overall Given is fine, I can recommend it, but somehow I don't consider it a BL masterpiece.

Yes, I'm a homophobe (no), asshole, (I'm a member of LGBT and I'm interested in LGBT representation)but I'm sorry, I don't see the point in giving a high BL rating just for being non-toxic.
I want to praise art. It's a good styling with decent workmanship. You can see that the original style. There are no yaoi hands, characters that look the same as from a Chinese toy factory, no scary triangular faces like in JR and SiH. The colors are well-matched, and it doesn't look like a rainbow-colored glitter nightmare like in the LS.
The relationship of the main characters is not that someone molests someone,
...
sexually assaults like in a typical BL. And that's where the pluses ended ...
If you think what is presented here is a real and realistic representation of a relationship, then I have no words.
lack of a plot and rather faceless characters with incomprehensible motivation and a strange set of emotional reactions. In this title, practically nothing happens, except for the relations of the main characters, and this is not very interesting. It's sad that the relationship is completely uninteresting, hackneyed.
It’s also okay that the anime, as usual, is built on proven romantic movies standards, and you get the feeling that you’ve seen it a hundred times already, and here again love is represented as hell. Have you been meeting for a year and don't know anything about each other? No, I understand, the first week, well, a month, you can still run and kiss and think about sex, but then what? What were they talking about? What did you do together? Do they have any common interests? How do they spend time together? Do they do anything other than kissing, hugging, and thoughts of doing cute things?
The characters are uninteresting and shallow. Apart from features such as: shy and ... maybe more confident, they have absolutely nothing about them. Virtually no character, no motivation, no history, no bigger expansion, nothing. They cannot be of interest.
And the plot is ... wait, is there a plot? There are some smaller threads, that's true. But they are neither extensive nor interesting. For example, the thread that one of the boys goes to a concert where the other performs. And he leaves the blanket offended. Why is he offended and pissed off? It doesn't make any sense. Nothing bad happened, but he got pissed. What's the point of that?
And finally ... there is a conflict in their relationship with her. A conflict that can be solved with the help of BANAL COMMUNICATION, but not. Apparently love is stronger, more important, or I don't know.
In general, to give this film a bad rating is unfair, of course, but to say it's perfect is nonsense. It is the Bl standards that are low, which is why this movie looks good compared to others.
It is more above average compared to others but fails to represent a relationship. It's not bad, It's kinda nice but just average

Seakaiichi Hatsukoi world of sexual assault and abuse
No means no? No, we haven't heard
The most important problem of this show is the fact that "romantic relationships" are not romantic, they are hysterical, built on blackmail and manipulation of the partner.
Story? What plot? No, it's just a regular slice of life. Chewing the same problems, character thoughts, experiences, and words over and over again. Sometimes office work and sexual assaults. That's the whole story.
Ritsu Onodera and Takano - this is one of the biggest problems. Takano is a man to be called an abuser. Yes Yes. Onodera tells him a thousand times that she loves him
...
no more and I don't want anything to do with him. But Takano doesn't care. She harassed him sexually in most episodes. Onodera says no, but Takano doesn't care. A beautiful relationship built on blackmail. Takano is jealous, manipulative, and aggressive. Ritsu is hysterical and, has around 25 years old, behaves like a middle school student. There are no normal dialogues here. It's a scream, a scream, and one more scream for each other. We have situations with them like; Takano helps Ritsu complete his assignment after work. Ritsu mentions that while he is having a girlfriend (to lie to this asshole so that he will unhook himself), Takano becomes jealous and harass Ritsu by kissing him and molests him (yes yes, first junjou romantica scene), although Ritsu is against it. Or the second situation. Ritsu returns from the library and meets Takano on the stairs. Takano again kisses Ritsu without permission, although he is against and Ritsu pushes him away. Takano banally does not understand the word ''no''
There are other couples too. Kisa and Yukina are The most adequate couple. I didn't feel like killing them after the first five minutes.
I do not remember the other one, because it is so pale and uninteresting that I have no words.
Character design is terrible. "All the semes look the same". And the same about ukes. As if they were created in some game for kids where you have to dress up a doll and you have two types of characters to choose from. Heck, it's a nightmare because these faces and hands are just scary.
If you think that this is healthier than some fujoshi's beloved Junjou Romantica, then I am begging you to start thinking and analyzing.
It doesn't get any better.
If you like assaults, blackmail, manipulation, and other abuse stuff, this is a great show. The only plus is humor. Some scenes are really funny and amusing. You can only announce this show if you are heavily drunk. Maybe the story is not as pwp and sex-centered as in Junjou, but not really much better.

Many manga pieces were cut from the movie. The atmosphere is quite bland, the dramatic moments look lackluster, Mafuyu's song is great as always, and the relationship between Akihiko and Haruki is ... typical ... And I don't think I need to tell you what it is.
Akihiko is a bastard. Why? Because, in the first place, he sexually assaults Haruki by attacking him on the couch. The scene is not as bad as in the manga, because in the manga it was much more rapey ... I don't need to say what. Terrible isn't it?
But you will tell me. ''But Given doesn't use it like
...
other BLs''. Sorry, but we're in a romantic movie, not in a documentary crime movie. There are a thousand other ways to show a dramatic moment, but using a proven thread is easier. You know what? This situation is swept under the rug. Seriously. Even despite the fact that she is not shown in some romantic light. No, it's not. So even in some of the "problematic BLs", it will not be discussed later. What next ... The film is supposed to show Akihiko's development as a character. Only that Akihiko has the nerve to use Haruki after he attacked Haruki. For example by staying in his apartment for a while. So for a deeper look, Akihiko has a hard time with Ugetsu. Because he can be said to be abusive towards Akihiko. Total drama in a relationship. And his boyfriend is supposed to be presented in a thin light here. Akihiko's spoiler will leave him and he will be with Haruki. Why should Haruki be about their relationship drama? Haruki, he's not mad. He is a good, slightly naive person who is ready to help. I have nothing against him. Akihiko helps Haruki soon, helps a lot. Gives him advice related to music. But sorry, I can't take Akihiko in a second light. He hurt and used Haruki. You could say that everyone makes mistakes. Sexual assault/harassment is not a mistake, it is a cr.... okay, I will not mention it anymore. You can see Aki regrets what he did, and it's true. Maybe it works in an imaginary world, but it doesn't work in the real world. I have nothing against this couple, but what is happening here is absolutely unrealistic.
I'm not saying that all of Given is bad. Absolutely. The original series is great. And he showed that BL can be realistic. Can tell a realistic, interesting, non-toxic story, with characters that resemble people, not sexual fantasies about gays. But this movie isn't very bad, it's just not very realistic, and it has some not very bad plots. Compared to other shounen-ai, of course, it keeps the level a bit above average, but it doesn't deserve SUCH a high rating, which just pisses me off. In addition, what is the chance that a toxic person is actually changing? What is the chance he won't attack you anymore?

Disgusting childish and problematic.
Another BL on my list where seme should have been arrested a long time ago.
Okay, here we go
The love stage starts quite interesting. We have a gender intrigue here, where the main character thinks he has fallen in love with a girl who is actually a boy. Sounds interesting enough? But the show will show you that such a seemingly ridiculous idea for a romantic comedy can be spoiled. When Ryoma learns that Izumi is a boy, he decides to rape him. Yes Yes. He's already getting started but gets hit by Izumi's brother's friend.
After this incident, Ryoma locks up in a
...
room and cries for several days. Then comes to his brother who knows Izumi has been attacked and almost raped. Only the brother says he has nothing to worry about, starts to blame him for not leaving the room, and it's actually normal for a guy to get horny when they lick his nipples. Brother doesn't mind the rape of Izumi. Better to blame the victim. Then Ryoma stalks Izumi, then apologizes to him. And they start dating. Dating your rapist according to the show is very romantic. And it's okay after that, but one day Izumi sleeps over with Ryoma and Ryoma, and while he is asleep, he starts kissing Izumi many times. The second scene is a complete failure. In the next episode, Izumi tells Ryoma that he can do whatever I want with him. Izumi is exhausted by this idiot apparently and his mental state is terrible. Ryoma kisses him and Izumi lies down, cries, and doesn't move. Ryoma gets pissed off and blames Izumi for taking advantage of his feelings.
Another victim-blaming scene. Then we have the typical crumbs of life again, and practically nothing interesting happens except that Izumi understands that he loves Ryoma, so he runs to his house and on the way, a group of people attack him and try to rape him. Jesus Christ, why is everyone attacking Izumi in this show? It's disgusting. It doesn't come to that and Izumi says that he wants sex with Ryoma. Ryoma is happy and says he won't stop having sex if Izumi changes her mind. And towards the end, Izumi says that he has changed his mind after all and he doesn't want to and he changes his mind, but Ryoma manipulates him and says that he is cute and he wants to know more about him. It's disgusting. From this show you can understand that:
It's normal for a family to forgive the rape of a family member.
It's normal to stalk someone
It is normal to tell a sexual assault victim that they are exaggerating and do not worry
It is normal to manipulate someone
It's normal to blame someone for your problems and actions
It's not a show is a documentary about the Stockholm syndrome.
