Watching Onimai was like watching Shinonome Lab residents and their guests for 12 episodes, except there was no talking cat in it. Some soundtracks in both shows are composed in orchestra style, and the one song that plays in some episodes in Onimai is basically an arrangement of "Green Green" song, which was the ending theme in EP 18 of Nichijou. The animations and drawing styles are both distinct and cute for comedies and pastel colors add some wholesomeness to them. Nichijou and Onimai conveyed a kind and relaxing feeling to me in a similar way, and in my opinion, if someone is deserved to make a sequel to Nichijou, this would be Studio Bind.

It's surprising how no one had noticed how similar the main characters and some features in both shows are. The ship inhabited with people, the war between countries, the protagonist who occupied with something that is not school, the cool guy who speaks less, the "bad" fussy girlish - looking guy who will probably become "good" guy, the mysterious loli who has hidden personality. Both animes give the same feeling of melancholy and happiness. If you liked Whales, you should really watch Last Exile, if you hadn't. If you watched Last Exile, then Whales would be a nice addition, but not must-see for you.

Both shows present an undercovered from lay people's eyes place, such as cafe and a resturant which gives a warm feeling of magic and mystery. In both shows every customer become equal: no racial or social diversity, lizard folks, demons, dragons, humans, robots are all the same: if you're hungry the chef will feed you up, if you want to chat - take a cup of coffee and chat with anyone without limitations. Speaking about conversations. Both show's characters speak a lot and it makes you smile, in Isekai Shokudou characters express their amazement of fantastic food, which is regular in our world, but in Eve no Jikan you enjoy more sophisticated topics between characters which makes you think more about existance. IMO the resemblance rate is 8/10 (based on first 2 eps of Isekai Shokudou), which means if you liked one, you will like another.
