Mixed Feelings
Preliminary (8/13 eps)
Season 1 was absolutely amazing. Season 2 Ouji no Kikan might be limited on resources because they're rushing through the story in a way that makes it hard for watchers to follow. When this season's new protagonist appeared, I was confused what happened to Bam. Transitions between flashbacks and time skips are minimal. You really have to remember the first arc's story.

There's a lot of new characters being introduced at once, with plot elements reminiscent of One Piece and SAO. I appreciate that they're building up for a grand plot, but at the pace it's moving, it's going to take forever. I've watched up ...

I almost missed this because of the cheesy-looking thumbnail cover art. It turned out to be have the makings of an epic series, so long as sequels don't mess things up, with a little bit of the feel of Gurren Lagann, Tensei Slime, Overlord, and Danmachi combined. There is a bit of a grotesque element to it but is balanced out by the lightheartedness of the main character.

Some people won't like this because the storyline is convoluted and also jumps between two chronologies without any introduction. I was watching part of the way through before realizing the same characters in different episodes were 15 ...

Mixed Feelings
Preliminary (3/11 eps)
Three episodes in, and it's a confusing plot so far. The MAL description doesn't seem accurate either. Although I haven't been paying full attention to this series, episode 2 or 3 say the terminal patient is reborn as Ai's child, not the doctor. It then proceeds to time skip and I thought it might be someone's imagination but the story continues from there. So what happened to Ai if the story is not going to be focusing on her? If individual characters aren't integral to the overall plot, I feel it's going to be some karmic reincarnation theme revealed in the end, sort of like ...

It's an absolutely ridiculous story. I was interested in it because of the title. World's End is a place in Murakami's postmodern psychological thriller novels. And harem automatically boosts a series to be worth checking out in my book.

Like other reviewers said, it's a mix of H and traditional anime because the scenes are not explicit and not a main focus. I'm surprised there is decent plot depth, such that I want to watch more to know the conclusion.

Overall, I give this a 6.5. It could be a 7 but some of the art looks like it was done by an amateur studio in SAI ...

Gantz:O (Anime) add
I watched this on Netflix and it was interesting enough that I went to check out the anime. However, I found the anime was cheesy and not quite the same genre. Based on synopses, the manga might make more sense.

I do not recommend watching the anime series. It makes little sense and is more like a sci-fi version of one of those stories where people are trapped in a game with a mysterious, sadistic mastermind who just wants everyone dead and has to crush every little spark of hope

It could have been great despite the cheesy characters but unfortunately failed to deliver anything meaningful. ...

I enjoyed as always the philosophical implications behind this SAO arc. The first part of Alicization was more riveting though. The last half of War of Underworld seemed dragged on and the ending became convoluted. It also seemed a bit cheesy that they ended up in "star world". I thought it would be a secret meeting with kayaba akihiko. I'm concerned it's going the route of every great anime series that goes on for too long. The only way they can continue the battles is by introducing ever stronger antagonists, up to a point where the heroes' powers become rainbow-colored waves and stardust, the fate ...

Preliminary (11/13 eps)
I gave this overall a 7. I like the story but other than the main plot, the details do not seem seriously developed. It holds back the series from going to an 8. Every time when it starts to show potential, cheesy scenes appear. It's great but also not exciting when the main protagonist is all-powerful. It really doesn't matter what happens to ally characters because he can simply heal or resurrect them.

This probably follows along with the explosion of ultra-powered-rebirth / isekai series when death march made the genre popular, but more of a superficial imitation than a seriously written series.

awesome soundtrack. the animation isn't that detailed but considering it's a crunchyroll original, they did well, especially the fight scenes.

the story contains a lot of depth, though it does have a certain degree of surrealism that a lot of mainstream viewers won't appreciate until ends are tied for them with a more clearly defined plot.

as with many famous korean movies, the style plays on cultural and universal elements of the human psyche, while not necessitating a well-defined and realistic plot even within the bounds of the story's universe.

in terms of story progression, season 1's 13 eps only open up possibilities for the rest of ...

Oh. the story isn't very well developed and doesn't make sense beyond the horror aspect because it came out as a game first.

i found it intriguing at the start but after the priest section, it lost its allure because it made zero sense. i thought she might be schizo as a possible explanation but no, there is no real meaning revealed by the end of the 12th episode.

I gave it a 7 because it was decently good up until that section and supposedly there's four more episodes which could tie the story up nicely. otherwise, it would probably be 6.5.

Big Order (Anime) add
The OVA is kind of confusing without having watched the rest of the series. Chronologically it's implied to occur after the main series.

It is similar to parallax dream theory I wrote in 2006 and appeals to the Japanese hard-boiled wonderland type of fiction. Essentially, the mental or metaphysical is a plane that connects all realities, and dreams are when you tap into the experiences of your self from alternate worlds.

In this episode, though Eiji has cleared his world of Orders, other worlds exist where it still works. Certain encounters trigger crossover memories and feelings of deja vu.

There's no real plot to this episode other ...
