Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu: Die Neue These - Kaikou
|
Tl;Dr - Steins;Gate follows an individual's fight against conspiracy. Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu follows individuals leading a war between two societies. Full Comparison - Both anime use Action, Adventure, and Drama to tell a Sci-fi story of a brilliant MC that is on the verge of making a world-changing achievement and must now fight the antagonists - outside forces trying to stop them & a cruel reality of losing what's most precious. Steins;Gate has a crazy-brilliant, outcasted MC, and the series develops from a slow-paced start to the series, chasing a desire for the Sci-Fi to be real -> into an action-packed and exciting development of a resolution. Comparatively, Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu has an MC with an ambitious, charasmatic, and relatively-normal personality. While the series is also action-packed and exciting, the pacing is more evenly spread consistent throughout the series, with the storyline built on the Sci-Fi elements already widespread among society.

Ao Ashi follows the MC through situations that help him grow / develop both, as an athlete & in his character. Both anime are good for anyone that enjoys watching an athlete-MC go through deep character development by overcoming difficult situations related to the sport. Ao Ashi follows Ashito through his first journey of growth after goijg through failures that come after his previous success, and watching Ashito go from relying too heavily on talent -> necessary training to hone his skills. Kaze ga Tsuyoku Fuiteiru (Run with the Wind) goes a level deeper by following MCs at a university, who have already gone through a journey (similar to Ashito's journey) and must overcome their past in order to grow and win.

Both anime are based in feudal-era-style settings, with a main character that must actively fight in a war. The MC of both anime are also surrounded by competent companions, that could easily be considered overpowered. The companions fight in battles that are carefully planned by a top-tier strategist, and with (well-deserved) loyalty for the MC

Both anime are centered around the coming of age stories for a socially awkward main character (mc) The greatest similarity, imo, is with the overly melancholic and depressing atmosphere used to tell both stories. You could say; "While you go through the joys and sadness of life with him, he seems to be fighting a recurring theme of melancholy throughout his life." and it would he true for both/either mc.
