A short and sweet manga about 2 physically intimate friends. The girl teases the guy, the guy reciprocates (but sexually). Rinse and repeat.
At the start of the manga. the author already warns that the circumstances of the MCs are unique and are not to be replicated. Proceeding beyond that warning and still managing to kick up a fuss is inexcusable.
The art is nice and cute. The male MC doesn't speak and yet that fact does not detract from the manga. Him not speaking adds a very nostalgic style that i have yet to trace its origins to. There is no plot development. As for
...
character development, aside from a role reversal at the end, everything remains the same.
If you cannot handle sexual stuff in teasing, go read Nagatoro/Takagi-san. Additionally, those 2 have plot and character development.
If you like ecchi stuff, blushing and/or embarrassment, read this. Otherwise, avoid.
7/10
Rating it at a 10 because i can be childish too

This manga is about a guy that is forcibly transformed into a girl multiple times every day.
What should you expect?
1. Light humor
2. Little to no drama
3. Lots of blushing for all you blushing connoisseurs
What not to expect?
1. Deep plot (or any plot really)
2. Character development
...
3. Drama
4. Good friends
There are no plot beats about feminism and/or transgender issues. If you want trans content, they exist in other manga.
My problem with this manga is how it didn't really explore the psychology behind being randomly and without warning transformed. Drama for the sake of drama is insulting, but realistically speaking there should be drama here for pete's sake. The whole premise is like a ball teetering on the edge of a slide. You're waiting for that ball to roll so that the characters can finally get fleshed out. But this never happens. This lack of drama is what leads to the lack of sufficient character development in the MC and his friend.
In the end, it was a missed opportunity.
That being said, there is still a lot of blushing and embarrassing moments if you happen to be into those things.
Just enjoy it for what it is; a gender bend comedy with lots of blushing.

First things first. This is a light-hearted comedy. Don't go in expecting deep storytelling and grand adventures. The tags on MAL don't do it justice.
The show is focused on what it wants to tell; the life of this village boy who goes to city. It doesn't pretend to be an epic adventure and it does not have to be. There are bad anime, average ones, decent ones and great ones. This is a decent anime. Nothing more and most definitely nothing less.
The story is about a boy from a village who goes to a city to fulfill his dream of becoming a soldier. He is
...
the weakest of all the residents in his village. However, he turns out to be the strongest person the city has ever seen.
People don't watch slice of life comedy for groundbreaking character development and grand overarching plots. I will rate this for what it is; a slice-of-life comedy set in a fantasy setting. This is a show you would watch when you want to unwind and relax whilst enjoying a nice cup of tea.
I am seeing more and more people whining and moaning about fan service across this site. In what universe does this show have fan service? Am i the only one who is not getting aroused from every single anime in existence? The term "fan service" is overused and meaningless at this point. In fact, if you see someone complaining about it in any anime, odds are that there is barely any (if at all) and some puritan is trying to live an Amish anime life.
I'd rate this a 7.5, but MAL doesn't have that option so i will rate it a 10 instead.
P.S: I love the Amish. But i don't think they will even see this review anyway.

"Oh great. Another monster girl show which relentless pounds you from behind with cliches, fan service and a bland lead.", is what you might think. However, i can happily say that all is not as it appears at first glance.
Why did i watch this show? I usually trawl for anime compilation clips online in search of something that would catch my interest. After another one of my sessions of trawling and adding to my list of shows that look interesting but that i probably won't get around to watching because said list keeps expanding; i found this gem in the rough. What drew me in
...
was the clip where he falls in between a giant's boobs. It looked like another generic monster girl fan service show, but something about the main character's attitude was intriguing.
I will start with characters, as a harem show with trash characters is a trash show. Don't @ me. First you have the main character, Glenn. He is a doctor that specializes in treating monsters (not just female ones either). He is supported by his fellow doctor Saphentite (a snakey girl). Together they go around healing the sick and performing miracles (examinations) of monsters across the land. Their relationship and its origins are explored well enough in one of the earlier episodes. It explains why Glenn decided to become a doctor for the monsters and also why the two share a strong bond. The centaur, Tisalia is a knightess type character with an "ojousama" laugh which i personally find endlessly amusing. She too like Saphentite, falls for the doctor after being enamored by his calm, gentle yet firm and driven nature. She is not however as arrogant as she appears, as she consistently displays a strong sense of duty and self sacrifice even to her own attendants. The other characters are not developed as much but are by no means bland.
Story. Throughout the show, the doctor performs exams and subsequently treats various monsters. This is where the fan service is centered around. I personally love fan service as i am a fan and enjoy being serviced. Sue me. That being said, apart from the moans and blushing as per usual, it always occurs during the exams where doctors even in real life may have to examine parts of the body that may be sensitive or too shameful. As a person who has had their butt examined for hemorrhoids i can assure you that it is just as shameful. That being said, i did not moan but instead buried my head in the pillow. Despite this, Glenn always maintains a professional attitude. He is not like the usual protagonist who stumbles and stutters and looks away. That kind of doctor in real life would be a garbage doctor. When he has a job to do, he does it; always keeping his patients' concerns and well-being in mind. As the show progresses and he gets approached romantically, he maintains his stoic demeanor but not to the extent which you would assume he reproduces asexually. The way he handles patients in contrast to his mentor and his fellow doctor Saphentite, is what sets him apart. Whether it is their differing philosophies regarding the right to die, honoring the patient's wishes (as opposed to repeatedly trying to convince them of an alternative), or approaching treatment from a psychological aspect instead of purely medicinal, Glenn's methods are always refreshing to look at.
The setting is as is described in the summary and is not explored as in depth or as fast as you would expect. Then again, this show is not about the larger society, but instead the tale of a traveling doctor in a post war land. Art and sound are good but nothing to write home about. I personally loved the character designs, be it their physiques or their clothes.
All in all a refreshing take on the monster girl genre. I look forward to a second season.
Story 7.5
Art 7.0
Sound 7.0
Character 8.0
Enjoyment 8.5
Overall 8/10
P.S: I don't understand why the reviews are so underwhelming. Don't be fazed by that though. Watch a couple of episodes and see for yourself if it suits your tastes. It definitely is worth at least that.

I will not be pretentious. I will not be pretentious. I will not be pretentious. Damnit.
Have you ever daydreamed about what life would be like in the future? Have you daydreamed about special abilities and how society would be fractured by whether one possesses said abilities?
If so, stop reading now, and go watch this anime. You're still here? Grab a cup of koolaid and prepare to drink it.
The story revolves around the lives of a group of friends growing up in a peaceful village that seems remarkably backwoods. Their lives as they grow, interplay with the relationships between each other, village superstition, relics from
...
a bygone civilisation and their social status. The journey from the first episode till the last is one filled with mystery, adventure, discovery and enlightenment in a sense. If you've ever stared at a coin from decades past and wondered where that coin had been, this show lures you in with a similar bait. And boy does it reel you in with plot twists, heartache, beauty, vengeance etc. Keep in mind that when i say heartache, i don't mean those cheap tear milker types *Cough* Angel Beats *Cough*. I instead refer to the pains you feel once you have resonated on an almost spiritual level with a character/situation.
The art is where things take a turn for the inconsistent. For the most part, you have your standard level of quality. Character designs specifically are especially pleasant, save for one caveat; quality drops. A few episodes have some very questionable character art.
The sound is immersive. It draws you in and submerges you into this world, blending beautifully with the story and art. Enough said.
Characters. Absolutely fantastic. Never have i seen characters depicted so realistically with all their strengths and shortcomings. Together with the story, the characters elevate this show to a standard that i have yet to see achieved by any other show thus far. The fact that no character can be seen as evil is a testament to how well their actions are justified in reality. These actions being the result of ill treatment or otherwise paints a picture so painfully realistic, that even during the times where i was hoping for the success of protagonists, never once did i hope for the antagonists to fail. I was that conflicted. It is in the characters you see depth and evolution based on their experiences across the episodes.
Enjoyment-wise, it was never a dull moment. I've seen a couple anime and i can honestly say without a doubt that this is my favorite amongst the others. When an anime makes you remember things you learned during, philosophy, sociology and psychology classes, AND leaves you with that satisfied but ultimately melancholic feeling at its end, you know you watched a masterpiece. Enough of me gushing, let's see the numbers.
Story - 10 : A "what if" type scenario executed beautifully
Art - 7 : Instability of art quality, makes for instability of scoring. Lol. KMS.
Sound - 8 : Beautiful and immersive. Complements the story and art nicely.
Character - 10(11?) : The pinnacle of character development.
Enjoyment - 10(11?) : Characters and story made this show. Literally. Ugh.
Overall - 10 : Characters and story delivered us from choppy art quality
Ever since i watched this show i've been looking for one to come close. Will update when i find one.

Hey there, do you enjoy watching a decent romance+drama+action anime with realistic characterisation that attempts and mostly succeeds in depicting the effects of a teenage boy seeing and even experiencing death over and over again? Well look no further, because if so, you have an interest in observing a mental breakdown and the subsequent road to redemption. Re: Zero depicts this fairly well.
To put it simply, Re: Zero has a distinct personality that is accused of being generic and edgy. Nothing quite screams generic as a character that makes mistakes and learns from them. It's almost as if he is human. If you never make
...
mistakes or have an aversion to making mistakes and improving yourself, please avoid this show.
A maturing male protagonist? Check. A mysterious female protagonist that raises more questions than answers? Check. Girls with washboard racks because such people actually exist, and where one of them may have feelings for the male protagonist because what is love? Double check. You have your average level of diversity of characters which allows a show to appeal to a wider demographic. Such characters include, the temperamentally affectionate one, the little people and the odd "weird" ones which definitely are indicative of a bland cast. Who wrote this?
The story is a melting pot of genres such as drama, romance, mystery, action and more which is a treat to watch in measured doses. Of course, i could compare it to another deconstruction such as madoka and point fingers all day accusing it of being a failed transplanted clone. I won't though. Who would do that?
With elements of mortality (or lack thereof) as well as violence and time travel, your expectations are sure to be sated unless you have an aversion to life itself which has its share of serious and light hearted moments. If you have an aversion to anime which depict both the ups and downs of existence, please avoid this show.
I respect the characterisation of the male protagonist because he evolves from being a wide-eyed wannabe hero to twisted selfish person to knight in shining armour (minus the armour).
He is a boy of many identities; Selfishbaru, Sadbaru, Madbaru, Badbaru, and Whippedbaru.
Art was a little iffy for my taste but sound was satisfying.
