Kingdom to me just lacks class. I think series that handle heavy and ambitious topics should be treated with adequate respect and sense of tonality/tact befitting them. Kingdom fails terribly in this regard for me, just feels like a childish iteration especially relative to the only other "War" manga I read that also covers a certain period in ancient Chinese history (The Ravages of Time). I wasn't very fond or impressed with Kingdoms characters or story. Only perspective I found genuinely interesting is Ei Sei's. Umineko is a story I believe for those with no standards, or rather I should say, its for those with very different standards from me. I think this series is quite cool conceptually but handled very poorly at times. It is very repetitive. I also find its characters outside of Beatrice to not be even slightly compelling lol. One Piece is a series that has much of what you want but also leaves a lot to be desired. There are many things the series does quite well, and there are many things it just does not do or fails to do at an adequate/consistent level. I’ll give two examples.
