It's decent! the animation for the actual mech parts is meh a lot of the time because of bad CGI use, and it falls into too many cliches too many times, but other than that it's decent, especially for the characters, specifically both Shinonono and Charlotte. the latter feels like a match made in heaven for the protag
minus points for clueless protag, plus points because the last chapters are outstanding both animation and story beat-wise, pacing could use some work.

the setting is pretty interesting, the whole IS concept stands out although sometimes you wonder where the hell the military is, surely the 7th fleet would've sent silver to Kingdom Come
The characters: oh boy the characters
The protagonist was too damn clueless, something that is sadly normal in the genre, it was a disaster in a lot of scenes but sometimes he got his time to shine
Houki was well-rounded, nothing to write home about but she did the whole "childhood friend" archetype in a good way
Rin was probably the most original character out of the bunch since I'm not sure what trope to throw her into, although her character feels shallow in pretty much every chapter after her introduction, taking a pretty minor role in the cast
Cecilia was the worst British character I've ever seen, it feels like they changed their mind about what to do with her halfway through the production of chapter 2 and just rolled with it
Charles/Charlotte was BY FAR the best character in the anime, a lot of her interactions with Ichika were heartwarming and cute, and it's likely the most well-rounded character, the least toxic one too, plus points for that! A match made in heaven
Laura as a character was a complete disaster in my opinion, they should've kept going with what she started as, the sudden shift into "I want to make him my bride" feels too forced, her only highlight is being a punching bag for the Ichika-Charlotte tag team to showcase some strategy. Same problem as Cecilia but cranked to eleven
oh and the art, GOD the art, everything in the anime save for the CGI looks so damn good, but SPECIALLY the characters, it singlehandedly pushes the anime up from a 7 to an 8
All in all, I would recommend this, just don't expect anything out of the ordinary
