These short episodes of one of the side characters and their daily tasks felt like a nice and refreshing contrast to the rather dark and moody story that Made in Abyss can be.
Following Marulk around as they complet tasks for Ozen or just try to do their best to support her friends is really nice. Plus, this short series gives a bit more of a normal side to things as the characters in the main story can come off a bit rough.
Over all, the style is cute, the familiar characters get some more screentime for us to enjoy and the over all feeling is a ... nice break for in between Season 1 and the 3rd Movie.

Suzume is a beautiful movie with great music and plenty of funny moment sprinkled into the fairly serious plot.
I'm not sure if I have or haven't seen others pieces of work from this creator but as a stand-alone movie did it keep me invested and interested through the whole lengh and runtime.
If the movie is good, why think too much about it and compare it to previous work? Just sit down, have a snack and enjoy a story being told to you with beuatiful animation, great voiceacting and wonderful music.
The only problem I could have is that, maybe, a few things were left unclear ... at the end, some questions that came up for me while watching simply left as they are, through that might also just be me.

If you like Sci-Fi and Horror, then giving it a watch isn't too much to ask, 8 Eps. is quickly done usually.
Humanity on a different, distant ice-planet where horrors lurk in the deep down darkness.
I'll be honest, does this anime LOOK good, more or less.
Is the story a masterpiece, maybe not.
Yet I couldn't help myself from continuing to watch this through and enjoy most of the characters. Heck, it even made me cheer for a robot multible times, somethings that doesn't always happen.
Over all though, it's not a must watch but something nice to bite into if you got the time and you enjoy anything ... done with Space and Aliens.

I usually do not write reviews but seeing how this short yet very strong anime is getting kicked down like weaker series is kinda upsetting for me.
IF you want something different, very different for once, Housing Complex C is gonna be down your lane if you enjoy Mystery, Gore and Mythos and Legends. Trust me, even if the start is confusing, it comes all together at the end.
Without spoiling anything or saying too much, it is literally 4 episodes, each 20-25 minutes, the characters and writing is well done and it sure threw me for a loop all together.
I enjoy a good horror anime, doesn't ... need to be something long like Death Note or Tokyo Ghoul, neither which I actually watched, they pulled enough attention already.

I make it sure, who wants to read through half a book in order to get a review.

Kemono Friends is, in my mind, for sure a series worth watching, at least Season 1.
The animation may be a be rough around the edges but otherwise it is a more than solid anime with fun characters to meet, an interesting story and even some fun information to lean about the different animals shown during the show.

Above that, if this had been longer or they up'ed the animation a bit in Season 1 already, this would be an easy 10/10 for me.

Watch it, enjoy it as you ... will, Kemono Friends sure left me impressed and happy.

Season 1 may have looked a bit rougher around the edges, the story and overall enjoyment was way higher than with Season 2.

What they could have done is pick up right after Season 1, show a new story and let us continue to follow Kabal and her team.
I don't mind the updated artstyle but honestly, I rather have the older style with a better story then what happend there.

It isn't straight up BAD but it is not a very good follow up to what was a very interesting, entertaining and even informational Anime.

Once more, just to make sure everyone got it, I do NOT ... hate it but it could have been better, much better.
