Magic has become a part of technology and is hence taught as a type of technical skill. First High School divides their students into two types which they call "Blooms" (the "express course") and "Weeds" (the "normal course"). The show follows the Shiba siblings, Tatsuya (or Godsuya as I like to call him) and Miyuki.

The show was off to a fair start imo, but as it progressed, I saw no clear plot. Fights were all right, but they could have been much better. Especially the fight between Tatsuya and the one who could potentially be his toughest opponent in the show, which for me, lacked ... a lot of intensity and served as a major turnoff. There's also Miyuki, who can be really annoying with her constant "onii-sama"-ing and her seemingly incestuous dialogue. Music was all right. I personally liked the second ending theme, Mirror by Rei Yasuda.

I think this show would appeal to people who would like an OP MC, some futuristic magic stuff and a little pinch of incest. Nothing actually happened though, just Miyuki's potentially incestuous and slightly cringy dialogue.

Tachibana Hotaru joins Team Toy Gun Gun, the BB gun (those air guns with plastic bullets) team of Matsuoka Masamune and Yukimura Tooru. From there, they participate in a team-oriented BB gun tournament.

I thought it was a fresh concept, as this is the first anime I have seen that's about BB guns. I also liked it because I'm a fan of team-oriented battles, especially ones where the members must be eliminated. Content-wise, I felt the show was very much lacking. But I do hope that this show inspires more authors to make BB gun anime. In that sense, this show was a step in the ... right direction.

I would recommend this show to people who like team-oriented battles and BB guns. To those who are looking for good and rich plots, unfortunately this show would be a bust. Also, Hotaru is a trap, or rather reverse trap. So fans of traps/reverse traps can check this show out too.

Fight scenes were still as underwhelming as season 1 and the saboteurs’ “super mode” – the Iron Blood Transformation – was sadly still lacking in badassery. One thing that kept me going was the introduction of the saboteurs' master, Shin Acura, as I was curious as to see how he and the protagonists would interact. I expected a friendly reunion but I was in for a surprise, so well played there. Also, I thought that this was one of the few better fights that this show had. However, I was glad that they expanded some more about Arthur Gaz but the overall buildup felt messy ... or like it was lacking a lot for me.

Would recommend if you enjoyed the first season and would want something decent, or if you wanted to see more of your favourite characters in this show (if any).

Emperor Arthur Gaz ruled for 500 years. But his reign ended after he was slain by the Eight Heroes, ending a long war between the Emperor and the alliance of six nations. The alliance scatters his remains in fear of whatever residual magic they might have. Now we move on to the present day. The show follows a pair of saboteurs, Tooru Acura and Akari Acura. Their new adventures begin when they meet Chaika Trabant, a girl with a coffin on her back whose aim is to search for her father, the late Emperor’s, scattered remains in order to give him a proper burial. However, ... this makes them the enemies of the alliance of six nations, as their aim is to apprehend Chaika.

Imo cool concept, but I wish the execution was better. Chaika carrying that coffin (which contains a sniper rifle running on magic) is a sight to see, taking her small physique into account. Then there was this soundtrack they inserted when the characters would face impending crisis, but it failed to add much intensity or hook me in. Fight scenes were underwhelming, the saboteurs’ “super mode” – the Iron Blood Transformation – was lacking in badassery (if that even is a word), though I admit the incantation to activate it sounded kind of cool. S1 was decent because of that, but could have been much better.

Would recommend if you want to see something fresh, this something being how a girl with a small physique carries a huge-ass coffin with a sniper rifle (I imagine that would be quite heavy). If you like magic and some medieval setting, that’s another reason to watch this show. There’s also an interesting revelation this show has, but not about to spoil it.

After Naegi Makoto and survivors of the Hope’s Peak Academy killing game escape, they join the Future Foundation, an organisation dedicated to fighting against despair. However, Naegi is arrested for allegedly protecting the Remnants of Despair. Things escalate as the organisation is hacked by a familiar person, or rather stuffed bear. Monokuma immediately announces a killing game between Naegi, the survivors who were present at his arrest, and the Future Foundation executives. The difference is that in this killing game, there is no class trial. However, there are a few other interesting twists, only one of which I will talk about.

Future Arc was my favourite. ... I loved the concept of NG codes, where each character has a forbidden action and a detector for the action. If it is done, lethal poison will be injected. Also loved how they attempt to find out what some of the others’ NG codes are, in order to protect or exploit them. Watching Naegi and crew attempt to survive Munakata and his ally Sakakura was quite thrilling too. Characters from the DR video game, Ultra Despair Girls, also make an appearance here, which might interest some players of the game. One thing I felt that they should have done was expand more on the characters' background stories, especially that of the Future Foundation executives. But I guess it can't be helped, considering the length of the show.

This wasn't personally an issue to me, but Monokuma had relatively few lines and appearances in this arc, which might be a bit of a letdown for some fans. Overall, still a great show with a lovely little bag of twists around mid to end. Check it out if the concept of a killing game with forbidden actions and lethal poison piques your interest.

Fifteen students, each with different skills, are trapped in a killing game at their school, Hope’s Peak Academy. To escape the game, one is supposed to kill one or two of their fellow students and get away with it. Things will not be so easy though, as sometime after a murder, there will be a class trial. If everyone deduces the culprit’s identity correctly, only the culprit will die and the game continues. Otherwise, they all die except for the culprit and the culprit wins.

The concept of a killing game with a trial (thanks Ace Attorney for getting me hooked into trials) system was really ... executed well. The drawback to DR: The Animation was that it was adapted from a game, hence quite a significant amount of content was cut out, though they have most of the points down but just quite summarized. I loved how Kirigiri Kyouko was at first introduced as “Super Duper High School ???”, since it served as a hook for me because I had hoped that they would tell us what ??? was. They did at the end, but not going to say what it is. Each character was also very different and unique in their own way. I could go on but there are so many characters to cover. Yet it was quite surprising for me to see that they could interact quite well.

Overall, great show but considerably bad adaptation. I would recommend playing Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc, the game that this was adapted from. But I had started with the anime first and imo it also served as a good experience, just that starting with the game might give you the best experience.

Iokawa Karada, a young girl, wishes upon a wishing stone to be an adult right away. She gets her wish but Nogami Shouko, a friend of her brother Hiro, turns from an adult into a young girl.

Despite seeming bland or dull, it is not at like that at all. There were a few small plot twists and quite a handful of light-hearted moments. I also saw some meaning and character development in the show, which I feel had important messages for us as we go through our human lives. How the characters resolved conflict imo was quite constructive, which I feel was one thing we ... could learn from this show. I would love to elaborate more but I feel that I cannot do so without telling exactly how each character changed for the better and that would call for a lot of spoilers, which won't be fun.

I would recommend this show to people who would put obscure anime in their radar and people who would like a show that's good for a break.

The story centers around two assassins, called Ein and Zwei. It starts with a mysterious orgainsation, known as Inferno, taking Zwei in to be trained as an assassin. Ein and Zwei would eventually do missions together for Inferno. However, things aren't that simple in the underground (in the mafia sense) world. A dark tale of murder, betrayal and finding oneself unfolds.

The show was highly action packed and thrilling. Both assassins who have no identity would eventually find themselves, after the long journey of murder, betrayal and acting as puppets. I loved the acting skills of both assassins in the stakeout sessions before the actual missions, ... though Zwei’s was usually a bit off. I felt that this further added to the thrill, yet also managed to add some light-heartedness. Further adding to the light-heartedness was the start of the second half of the show, where the assassins would act as high school students. The amount of light-heartedness might sound like a lot, but it’s just the right amount, which allows for an occasional break from the thrill and intensity of the action. The first opening theme was also quite haunting yet alluring. Personally fell in love with the insert song (which I linked below).

If you like a dark, espionage-like show with a good plot and featuring mafia families, plus well-developed characters, then this show is very worth a watch imo. The show features gunfights, so fans of guns and gunfights might be able to enjoy the show.

Yoga Kimimaro gets roped into the Financial District, a world which makes the saying “money is power” literal. Entrepreneurs (or Entres for short) fight one another with their Assets (partners) in weekly duels called Deals. Each Entre's future is held as collateral. So with each loss, their life becomes worse.

It reminded me of Accel World, except that this was a parallel world instead of a game world and that this show is centered around money. They did well by making economics look less boring and turning it into a decent action/super power show. However, I felt that it was too short and quite rushed near ... the end. They had also yet to explain quite a lot of things, such as exactly how a defeated Entre’s life will be determined.

Overall, a decent show with a cool concept but lacking in content and might have been better if it was longer.

This show is set in a time where the world would revolve around the carbon economy. In the same time period, Japan has built a city called Atlas which takes the form of a humongous reinforced fortress. Hojo Kuniko, the protagonist, wants her fellow Duomo island inhabitants to be able to have good lives in Atlas. However, the Japanese government would not readily open their doors literally and figuratively. This puts the government against the Metal Age, basically Duomo's anti-government faction. Then there are other parties, such as Carbon Tycoons (people who make their money off of playing with the carbon economy), a shrine organisation/following ... (Idk the correct term for it) and even three otaku old men. How would these parties act, interact and be related to one other?

The show was off to an all right but relatively slow start. I felt that it was very worth the wait imo as the show just takes us on a roller coaster ride of action and some good sci-fi. Additionally, it nicely connects the parties involved and ties up loose ends with a barrage of twists and revelations towards the end of the show. A great choice for people who would love a good plot. There are transsexuals featured in the show, so that might not appeal to some people. However, if you’re looking for a cool female lead, Kuniko might fit that list.
