The slice of life genre is a personal favorite of mine. Unlike the thrilling action of shounen or the heart-wrenching suspense of a romantic drama, a slice of life is one that can be enjoyed at a more relaxed pace.
HERES THE ISSUE THOUGH! Most of the SOL (slice of life) shows I've been watching have the same issue.
1. It's more of a drama, comedy, romance, rather than an actual show about... ya'know, slice of life.
2. It's boring. The show has no story and little to no character growth. These shows really lean on the charm of their characters and comedy to keep themselves somewhat

Overall Impression: If you're lookings for a more morally complex version of demon slayer, this is the anime for you. This is a historical drama in its truest form with swords, political drama, and the supernatural. Personally, I don't believe this anime is one that will be well-remembered but I certainly believe that everyone should go watch it especially if you're into interested into historicals. I started watching konohana kitan fully expecting it to be a cgdct (cute girls doing cute things experience) but I got a bit more than that. Its a very heartwarming show that manages to get you emotional while being wholesome 100% of the time. If you like wholesome slice of life shows like New Game, this is a great anime to watch.
