Both disguise themselves as strictly light-hearted, slice-of-life shows where barely anything interesting happens. Eventually turns out that there's more to them than what we can see on the surface (aka first few of episodes). Both of these series' main arc/conflict kick in midway through which are consisted of dramatic events. Still, keep in mind that both of them are Slice of Life shows down to the core. The difference is that Nagato Yuki-chan is a spin-off from a main series and Inou-Battle is an original series. Prior knowledge is required for the former but isn't expected to be in any way similar to the main series.

They're not just in the game, their world IS a game. In both series, role-playing game elements are integrated within the world, with Log Horizon being a little different as their so called "real world" is detached and no longer accessible to them. Overall, they're both "fun" shows in general compared to other pretentious shows within the same setting. "Log Horizon" is about adapting and dealing with the intricacies of how the system works as a foundation of the players' new lifestyle. "Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darou ka" is focused around the main character's growth as an adventurer rather than the world itself.

Both MCs being initially useless, wins fights through bluffing, and put into situations in which they're mistaken as perverts. Both have great actions scenes despite being mainly Comedy/Ecchi.
