It's one of those animes that pulls at your heartstrings by ramping up its sentimentality because why the fuck not? This anime will have you believe that there is a person out there somewhere that you're destined to be with. If this movie made you cry then I'll just assume that you're one of those people who cry every time a commercial about a dog with a Sarah McLachlan song comes on. This thing is really trying to hone in that message of "if something is worth fighting for, go at it and never falter". I wouldn't travel hundreds of miles just to see a

girl I barely know. Just because you happen to know something personal about her that nobody knows, that doesn't mean you know her better than everyone else. This is what twitch simps feel like when they've donated thousands of dollars to their favorite streamer, hoping they've made that personal connection through money. Get a fucking grip, you delusional moron.
It's a goddamn Shinkai movie, of course, it's gonna be pretty, atmospheric, and awe-aspiring. That's pretty much his staple.
The whole soundtrack itself evokes that feeling of longing and sentimentality. I believe RADWIMPS carried the fuck out of this movie. The way each score enhances every scene is astonishing. They could turn a scene with a pretty backdrop and a dull dialog into a charming moment. One of my least favorite parts of the score was the piano. The piano felt like a cue for people to start crying. It was utterly distracting.
If you really wanna know more about the characters, just read the lyrics of Avril Lavigne's sk8r boi.
Sorry Shinkai, it's going to take more than two high schoolers falling in love, to convince me that destiny is real. lol, what is up with this dude and his obsession with star-crossed lovers. He's recycled that concept at least 3 times now. I may not like this movie as much as everyone else, but I still appreciate his work. I'm also hoping that he would diverge from concepts where romance is its main element.

It's easy to get carried away watching this show for the first time since normally, a casual viewer would watch this going into it without a dose of cynicism, but upon second viewing, my enjoyment for this show gradually declined.
[S] The whole premise of the show is really nothing special. Think of it as Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood but turn up the drama all the way to 11. Yeah, they get into some philosophical themes such as what does it mean to be human, etc, but it's not as compelling and well thought out as Brotherhood. Watching this show a second time and revisiting all the

dramatic scenes really becomes annoying because I found it really manipulative. The way this show tries to pull at your heartstrings is really cheap (Like dude, we get it, your love for Nezuko and your family is unbeatable) I don't wanna hear that shit over and over again. Overall, I hate how this show uses drama as a crutch to make the characters seem more interesting.
[A] One of the many good things this show has going is the art/animation/stills. Ufotable once again, proved to everyone that they're the apex when it comes to animation studios. At this point, it's safe to say that they can do no wrong. Furthermore, the way each episode is directed is absolutely fantastic. There are so many scenes in each episode that are very picturesque. In addition, the use of CGI was tasteful and not distracting, the whole thing just blends in nicely.
[S] It's Yuki Kajira, what else is there to say?
[C] The characters are meh. After the 2nd viewing, all of them just became insufferable in my eyes. Most of them are very one-note, especially that little bitch who couldn't stop whining and screaming. All of the characters are incredibly tropey.
This is the type of anime that I recommend to somebody who just started getting into anime. The hype surrounding this anime made it seem like it's the greatest fucking thing ever (Trust me, it's not). This anime is heavily flawed, but people tend to overlook that fact because of the visuals and sound. If it really wasn't for those two things, this anime would've flopped hard.

Story 7
Great at the very beginning since part 1 left on a cliffhanger. However as the story progressed, it's became worse and worse, It's almost like Ishida was forced to rush all of chapters out by the execs just to get this thing over with. Overall, it started out pretty good because it was shrouded with mystery, but after all of those things are revealed, it sort of loses its spark and became boring.
Art 8
Now this is where Ishida excels. I've never been so captivated by the way he puts details on every chapter. I like the gritty style honed from part 1 and basically
...
mastered it in part 2. With all that said, sometimes, it can get a little bit confusing because of the inconsistent quality. For most of the time it looks well put together, sometimes it looks like he literally just made a sketch, does a bit of shading, and have his editor publish it. So far, its an improvement comparing it to part 1.
Characters 5
As I said before, it started out pretty good because you can actually keep with what's happening. I didn't find any of the characters annoying at first because they had great chemistry with each other. Even though most of the new added characters were just characters from part 1 with a different name, that really didn't bother me. But dear god, once Ishida started adding more characters, I couldn't keep up anymore. It's almost like he's filling in plot holes by adding a new character. It almost ruined the whole thing for me. He could've just kept the essential characters and beefed them up rather than introducing one character after another. Also, in some chapters, Kaneki doesn't even show up because he's focusing on different characters, which i really don't care about.
Enjoyment 6
Jesus christ, once the whole thing concluded, I basically was shocked by how terrible it was UGH. The whole thing jumped the fucking shark the moment ishida did the bait and switch bullshit. For this manga to have a somewhat of a happy ending, it doesn't sit right with me. Furthermore, the amount of fucking dialogue in each chapter feels like im reading a novel. with all that said, the ending sucked for me.
Overall 7
If you're curious what happened to your beloved Kaneki after part 1, this is a great somewhat of a continuation. Since it had great set ups at the very beginning. It's gonna keep you wanting for more answers and all that nonsense. However, if you're looking for "Satisfying" conclusion of the whole series, (It really depends on what kind of ending you prefer) but personally I wouldve liked for this whole thing to have and end of eva kinda of ending. but what I got was some fucking sitcom ending nonsense. Save yourself some time and stop once the dialogue fills the whole chapter.
